"Sell First" Scam
"Purchased a RedCarter one piece swimsuit on my AMEX. So glad I purchased with this card. Waited a full month and still no swimsuit. Called Customer Service and they explained it was a "sell first", whatever the heck that means. Bottom line they escalated my order so I would get my suit faster. That was sweet of them. Received the package one week later, low and behold open the package and out comes a top only, no bottoms, no one piece RedCarter suit like I ordered. Immediately called Customer "Disservice" and complained. Was told the warehouse had the wrong order number. The packing slip clearly said one piece---guess they thought no one would notice if I went naked on the bottom. They can't send a replacement b/c don't have the suit anymore after 5 weeks of waiting. Listen to the reviews and double digit negative ratings. Must really **** to work in Customer Disservice and for that matter at Gilt. "
Very bad company
"They dont refund full. If you purchase and send it back, you will lose money 29 dollars. Recommend not to use this online purchase system. And they dont respond that i asked about refund in 2 times. Very bad company."
Stay Away From This Place
"Save your money and go elsewhere. I made my first two purchases there on the same day, and that's two too many. They will not work with their customers if something is marked as non-returnable, not even if I offered to pay return shipping, pay a restocking fee, AND get store credit rather than credit back on my credit card. But nope, and the only reason I got the item in the wrong size was because its size was advertised as small when in fact it was pretty true to size.Last but not least you have to sign up for a free Gilt Insider account in order to accumulate points for every purchase which should be automatic, and of course given how much they don't care for their customers (show me one site where Gilt has a positive customer rating) they will not give me points for my first two purchases because I wasn't a Gilt Insider. The reason I got for why people don't automatically get points for purchases is because some people don't like cashback. REALLY? At this point the rep abruptly left the chat room which is fine. I don't care about the points because I won't be shopping here and you shouldn't either."
"Hi I started using Gilt and pretty happy with it! I got a great deal on Gilt City for some spas almost 50% off. I would recommend being fast as deals sell fast and there is not a lot of inventory for the steals. I will be back! "
Very Unhappy Customer!
"Sold an item for an adult that would only fit a child. I purchased a necklace for my wife that is a normal size and it fits like a choker, it may fit my 3 year old. I purchase from Guilt regularly and asked to return the item for store credit as I cannot use it and they refuse. They told me the measurements are on the site, what was I supposed to do measure my wife's neck? Who knows the size of someone else's neck. This is clearly a bait and switch, and they're selling children's jewelry to adults and the purchase was $275 to boot! Very unhappy customer!"
"I had a terrible experience with Gilt.com. These people are dishonest. I've bought this bag for $200 and 8 days later they put it on sale for $80. I called them twice, I got nothing, they said they have only 7 day price match policy which is ridiculous. Very disappointed. Don't shop with them!"
Dishonest merchant with pathetic customer service
"I purchased an inexpensive canvas from gilt.com. I was shocked when I received the notification that it would take 2.5 to 3 months for the item to ship. I quickly proceeded to contact them and request that the order be cancelled. The response was that given that the item was in their warehouse and was being prepared for shipment, they couldn't cancel the order. Really?!?!? An endless exchange of emails nad phone calls back and forth - all indicating that the order cannot be canceled as the item is being prepared to be shipped and that it would arrive in February...3 MONTHS from now!!! I am unaware of any shipping method in this century that would take this long and yet they would not proceed to cancel the order. This is the absolute worst experience I have ever encountered from any eCom sites. And to think that a high end retailer like Saks Fifth bought gilt.com is beyond comprehension.I used to buy from them regularly but I will never transact with them again...ever!"
"I honestly don't remember ever dealing with an "brand name" company that was so unfair and such a bunch of scumbags with such poor customer service.I had a bunch of experiences with them and it was nothing but negative, never good.Their Gilt city discount things that you buy are like living social or groupon. Except they expire after like a month and then they only give you the amount that you paid credit at the customer for five years. The problem is… When you go to the place they have no idea what you're talking about.I went on a date and I quietly went to the waitress and I told them about it. She said she has no idea what I'm talking about and when I spoke to the manager he would not honor it… And embarrassed me in front of my day… Who never spoke to me again…I've called them on multiple occasions for messed up things like this and they basically said sorry and there's nothing we can do… Real scumbags…THIEVES!"

"Where do I start! This website is a total scam. They took one picture of the watch and said that it was a man's watch. The picture wasn't even taken from their website they probably got it off of Google images. I finally received the watch that by the way, took FOREVER! And noticed that the band was defective. I tried it on anyway and it didn't fit my wrist! When I called to complain they said "well, it's a unisex watch, it's for men and women". The customer service was terrible. I was treated very disrespectfully. I wanted to return the watch and they wouldn't take it back. I even had to go as far as to complain with the BBB (better business bureau). So now I'm stuck with a $3,200.00 watch that has a broken wrist band and doesn't even fit me!!"
Not good with promotions
"They released a T-Mobile promotion of $15 off an order. Apparently it stacked, and they canceled the order with no email, nothing. They closed the account as well. This is pretty bad professional behavior.They could've fixed this from their end by not letting stack if anything, but they let it go and now I'm out of a $15 coupon I could've used better.August 17th 2016"
Super Customer Service!
"I've placed many orders with Gilt. They offer a fine assortment of better brands and have a stronger trend sensitivity than many flash sale sites. While I've had a few issues (product arriving broken, or the package shipped in a box not secured with tape, etc), their customer service has been outstanding. They have been proactive, pleasant and extremely professional in remedying any problems. I've been consistently impressed with their service. It's a rarity in online retail and I have to commend them for it!"
Holding my gift certificate hostage
"I bought a Gilt gift cert and entered the code in their checkout. My item unfortunately sold out too quickly. I looked for three weeks on the site for something else I wanted and have given up. I want to give the credit to a friend, but there is no way to get the credit out of my cart. Other retailers let you do this. Nothing about it in the FAQs. $&%*#! This is not the only problem I have had with them, but it is definitely the worst. "
FAkE, Fake, Fake, Specially Creed Fragance
"Bought a Bottle of Creed- Green Irish Tweed and after checking it, discovered that is a fake. I spoke to Nicole Carey- Customer Representative- and she told me, " that this was sent directly from Creed Fragrance, therefore it would be authentic. In any circumstance, we cannot deem this product as inauthentic sadly as that would not be possible."... So I guess they Can always blame the brand that ships me the item, and not them for charging me"
"I have been a Hugh gilt fan for years. I have spent way more than I should there. I recently ordered earrings from them. They arrived and to my dismay they were sapphire slices which was not disclosed in the items description. Of course customer service is not allowing a return. This is in fact illegal. I also cannot understand why they would choose to lose a customer rather than honor a return. Contacting my lawyer. Will never buy from again!"

"I made a number of orders from Gilt.com.My general experience with them is that the website, as well as their customer service are both deceiving!! Items arrived differently than pictured/described, referral credits were promised and then not given, I was told by customer service information that was false, orders arrived defective, and they aren't helpful in dealing with issues after the fact! They took no responsibility for the defective or incorrect items they sent, and refused to provide a replacement, even when I offered to ship the defective/incorrect item back.Besides the fact that the website is very expensive (the same items can be found cheaper elsewhere), they offer no shipping deals like most sites which offer free shipping over a certain amount. But my main disappointment was with my orders and how they (didn't) handle their own mistakes. Very disappointed, would not recommend!"
