"Ordered an item on December 1st, received confirmation immediately. When item had not arrived by December 16th I wrote them only to be told it was backordered. They would never have let me know and this was a Christmas present for my Grandson. Poor customer relations! "

"After paying for a Christmas gift, I was told a month later it was on backorder. After numerous ignored emails, I received a terse response that the item was still on backorder. About a YEAR later the product shipped, after I had already moved. The company would not refund my money, or cancel the order before it had shipped. I have been buying things on the internet for a decade and have never experienced such poor customer service."
"this is my second order in a year from internet trains. i'm very dissatified with their service. thay are extremely slow to process orders (although they charge you immediately!) and then even slower to ship them. when you contact customer service via email, it takes two days to get back to you and then they give you a bunch of excuses why it's taking so long. i would recommend shopping elsewhere as they are incompetent."
"I should have checked this site before I ordered from intenet trains.com. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Ordered a Christmas gift for my son in plenty of time to be delivered before Christmas (13 days before Christmas). After no tracking information was posted I followed up only to find it wont be deliverd until December 28th. It was made clear in my order comments that this was needed for Christmas (duh) and they made no effort to make sure my needs were met. When conacted, they acted like they didnt care and blamed it on me for not spending more to expedite shipping. 12 days is more than enough time in this day and age for ground shipping to reach its destination in the US."
"Rotten to the core. Ordered a train for my son for Christmas Expedited Fedex, 500.00 + USD. Charged my credit card and then we waited and waited still no Tracking sent, called and called no answers. Then finally I talked to a woman who told me the train would be mailed Friday the 18th and should make it in time. Waited.....no tracking over the weekend, called on Monday and the lady told me I was "on her list of people to call" and the train was "broken" but she will ship another. I canceled the order and bought one from Ebay. Now they have my money and still no refund, its been a month and they keep telling me the manager will do it when he comes in this evening and then the manager will do it when he gets back from vacation. This is the worst company ever!!!! Do not buy a train from them. Next resort will be filing criminal charges! I will if I dont get my money back by tomorrow. Please dont buy anything from these horrid people. Save yourself the time and money and frustration."
"This is an update on my saga with InternetTrains.com.I strongly urge all fellow hobbyists to stay completely away from InternetTrains.com. On 9/7/09, I placed an order for several bridges and accessories. All items showed as "Available" on their website. After a few weeks, I called to check on my order and was told they were waiting on a few items and they would call me back early the next week. This was at the end of September. On 10/6/09, I called back after not hearing from them. A man at the company put me on hold for a long time, then came back and said it would be another week. I asked him to cancel my order, and he said he would do so. I followed up my request the same day by e-mail, and was assured that my order would be canceled. They had already charged my credit card, and Bea@InternetTrains.com said she would send my cancellation request to accounting which "usually comes in on Fridays." Last week, on 10/21/09, I received a notice that they shipped my order (which I placed on 9/7/09)--this is despite me verbally and by e-mail cancelling my order on 10/6/09. I've now spent a couple of hours filling out dispute forms with my bank, calling FedEx last Wed. morning to stop the shipment and have it returned to InternetTrains.com, e-mailing InternetTrains.com again notifying them of their issue and again requesting a refund on my credit card (for which I never received a response). They have not reversed the charge on my credit card. I'm pretty certain the bank will do so, as I've kept them aprised of the developments. The company is based in Brea, CA. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! "
"AVOID! Ordered a bunch of cork roadbed from them. The order has been sitting for 2 weeks, although the descriptions said everything was available. Called them up, and they promised everything will be shipped by the third week. Nothing came in. Called them today and canceled the order. I have yet to see if they will refund me the money or if I will have to start a charge dispute."
"AVOID! All items I ordered said "available". After waiting over a week and still having my order in the "processing" stage, I called them. I was put on hold for a long time and told they were waiting for two more items to come in. When I asked why it said they were "available" I was told that means either they have it or they are waiting for a local vendor to provide it. It was over a week and their "local vendor" still didn't have it. I cancelled my order and we'll see if they still try to charge me."
"COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT! I ordered from Internet Trains on 11/23/07, and by 12/25/08, they had not even processed my order, let alone shipped anything, so I canceled the order. It is now 3/4/08 and after many emails and phone calls, I STILL haven't had my money refunded yet!!! NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE!!!!"
"Would not purchase again from this California seller. I placed an order on 12/19 for a $180 Christmas train set for kids and paid $60 for shipping to Texas. I printed my receipt. No problems. The next day I receive a phone call from the company saying that the postage I paid was only a deposit and not sufficient, so I agree to pay total of $120 for 2nd day deliver to have it by the 24th. Today receive a call saying that credit was declined (48 hours after a receipt is printed?) I went online to my credit cards company and saw the full charge made on the same day that I placed the order. With Christmas in a couple of days this company might well believe that a desparate dad will pay the $150+ for overnighting this item because its too late to get it anywhere else at this point. Terrible way to ruin a kids Christmas. Thanks "internet-trains" for this scrooge-like behavior... bah"
"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS VENDOR! The web site is very impressive, but there is nothing else to prove they a genuine business! They charged my credit card on the day I placed the order. I have not received any items! No response from my email inquiry to them on obtaining a tracking number. The phone is answered only by a machine, claiming there are very busy, ya....right! The machine says "don't leave a message as no one will return the call. Guess that says it ALL!!Now I'll have to dispute the charge with the card company."
"Do not order from this store. They do have pretty good selection, but I don't know if you product will ever reach you.I placed an order on December 16 (no, I did not expect to receive it by Christmas). There website said that due to the busy season orders take 3-7 days to ship. I was hoping to get the package by New Years.Anyway, I was out of town, so I wasn't too worried, assuming that my package would be there when I got home. Well, I came home on January 3rd and no package. I had not received any email about shipping, so on the 4th I called them. The response was less than overwhelming. I person who answered the phone said that my items were in stock and they would be shipped probably today or tomorrow. I decided to cancel my order.What was the response to my canceling and them losign a customer, "OK". There was no attempt to keep my as a customer, not even an apology about not being able to ship my order. I asked for an email confirmation of order cancel and have yet to receive it (1/10/07)Now, I received my credit card bill on 1/9 and they had charged my account on 12/16 (the day of the order), I called by credit card company and there has been no refund/credit for the cancelled order yet.The good news is, that after I cancelled the order on 1/4, I placed another order with a different vendor for the same products. They shipped them that same day (received a tracking # in less than 3 hours) and I even saved about $10."
"I ordered a Bachmann HO Scale E-Z Track Train Tack Pack on 12-10-06 and in spite of Internet Trains the website claim that orders usually shipped in 3 to 7 business days mine did not. They did not answer two emails. The customer service telephone number provided by the web site yielded only an answering machine, which had no mailbox. The official claim was that customer service representatives were busy helping other customers. But repeated speed dial calls never got further then the answering machine. Today one day after Christmas, I got credited the cost of a five year old boy's Christmas Present. Why they could not have informed me before Christmas is anyones guess. They did however bill my credit card on 12-10-06, without my guess is even having the item in stock. Will you do business with these people. It is your call."
