“I bought an Alienware system and from the moment I got it it would lock up. Sometimes when the OS was idle. Like I would leave it on overnight and the next day win me would be crashed. Sometimes with a few apps open just moving the mouse would make the system crash. Burning a CDR would often cause a system to crash. OK, I have a unstable $4500 computer. I order in Jan of 2000, right after I had ordered they switched to DDR ram. No one warned me they would be switching. So I have SDR Ram. Plus the DDR systems they were selling were allmost $1000 less then what I payed. I complained and they agreed to take some money off what I payed. We had to bug them repeatedly to get the refund, even though they had said they would take care of it. Back to the system, there tech support is USELESS. I had to make 3 or 4 phone calls to Customer Support and Tech Support and finally was able to speak to a Level 3 Tech. He agreed to fix the system. I sent it in and did not get it back for several weeks. I would call and they would say different things each time were wrong with it. Anyway, I got it back finally and it still locked up often, it looked like they hardly touched it. So I made a few more calls and finally got someone who agreed to rebuild my system. First they told me the HD was bad and it was being replaced. I called and then they told me the Hard Drive was fine and the motherboard was being replaced. I recieved it back and I finally had a stable system that did not crash, but i was getting low scores in 3d Mark 2001. Anyway I installed a GeForce 3 in my system and for a few months it worked well, but I had a windows problem and had to reformat and reinstall windows. I installed XP. Now I get a crash whenever I run a 3d game. Error in NV4_DISP, Infinite Loop Errors, Bad Pool Caller, etc. I sometimes crash when running windows apps. I called tech support but they say they cant help me because replacing the video card and installing a new OS violates their warrenty. So Im stuck with a system that crashes constantly and cant play games. Would I order from Alienware again? NO. If you look at there customer support forums, you would be suprised how many people have the same problems as I did. I am sorry I ordered from Alienware and there tech support is awful.
Update: I had some ram that tested bad and I have a 3 year on site warranty. I recieved the RAM but no on site person ever called me. I called Alienware customer support and they gave me a number. I called it and a woman answered the phone saying he was "Out Fishing" It seemed like a guys home phone number and it was busy a lot. I called AW and told them this and they gave me a new number. They said they had set it up and a onsite guy would call. It was about 3 weeks and many calls before I could actually get someone to come to the house. He finally came and installed the RAM. When I got the replacement they asked for a credit card and said they would take the charges off once I sent back the bad ram. I sent it back but they want it back in 2 weeks, so I had to get them to promise they would still take the charges off the credit card. Well a week passed and they still didnt take the charges off. I must have called Customer Support 20 times In the next 2 weeks for them to take it off. It was always "I am trying to get someone in accounting" or simular excuse. Finally they took off the charges, but since it took so long to get the RAM installed by the onsite tech and the refund, there were late charges on my moms credit card. They are a very poorly run company with bad tech support and even worse customer service. I would recommand you stay far away from Alienware.”

“Recieved item as promised for a good price, fast shipping. Definately a good place to buy computer stuff. Promptly responded to email inquiry when I had a question about the order. Very good merchant.”
“I ordered a high end gaming computer from oxford pc last year, and recently recieved it. James was very polite and answered all my questions before I ordered. Usually emails were answered same day, or in a few hours. After I ordered he even let me email him and switch out a cpu fan and optical burner with ones from another company. The price was definately better then Alienware or most of the big name gaming computer makers. I configured the same system on Alienwares website and the AW was around $1000 more. Plus you have way more ability with oxford pc to customize your system. Only problem i had was a detatched cold cathode light that because detached during shipping. This is in the process of being fixed. Tech support is good and most inquiries are answered same day. Overall I would highly recommend oxford pc if you want a good computer.”
“Bought a DVD-RW drive here. It broke and now will not give me a new drive. Said in email (they don't list a phone #), only 90 day warranty so can not give me new drive or any kind of refund or repair. Newegg.com are way better for rmaing hardware, bought a drive there 10 months ago and its still ok for RMA if the drive goes bad. Will not order from livewarehouse.com again.”
“Ordered twice from this site. First time recieved an order confirmation via email, then got another email with the tracking #. It took a while to get, but the dvdrs I ordered were packed nicely and the price for the Verbatims I ordered was great. Next time I choose a faster shipping method. I ordered on a Sunday, and monday noticed I did not get a tracking #. It was a holiday on monday, and I forgot, they told me this via email when I wrote email to them, and they said my order would ship Tuesday. I waited until Wednesday and noticed I did not recieve the tracking # via email like the first time. I emailed them and they promptly emailed me back with the tracking number, and I found out the order had shipped Tuesday. Got the order 2 days later.
Ordered a third time, had to email and ask for the tracking #, because I did not get an automated email from UPS. I tried tracking it for a few days and asked them if UPS had lost my package. Hyper said that is what happened via email, and had to send the order again. Only this time, they upgraded the shipping to FedEx Overnight even though I had paid for UPS ground. May order from this place again, highly recommended. ”
