"Had to replace the EVAP purge valve on my 2017 Highlander. There were many different purge valves for a 2017 Highlander. By providing my VIN number to the Toyota parts specialist I was able to get the correct part the first time."

"I call the parts department regarding a replacement for 2013 Toyota Camry Driver's side door handle. The service parts person quoted $71.00...I then asked him why the price had increased so much since March when I had to replace my passenger side handle and the part is essentially the same. He said hold on...then he came back with a price of $59.99, they had the part on hand so I came to the shop to pick up the part. I came to the parts desk, gave them my VIN they looked me up, saw that I am in their system, then gave me the part and the paperwork to go pay. After I paid, I was walking back over to the parts desk to ask a question and I overheard the service person tell a customer on the phone that they could probably save some money if they order their part on line and had it delivered to the shop. So I patiently waited for him to finish his phone call and asked him if that was true, that if I ordered the part on line and had it delivered that I could save money...he looked, irritated and wrote the web-site down on the back of a business card. I went on line via my phone, and the part was $14 cheaper. So I ordered the part...went back to the parts counter, showed them the part was being shipped...they adjusted some paperwork and I went to the counter to have the original invoice refunded. The service personnel had two opportunities to tell me this...I can only think of two reasons why they did not...either this is a greedy company or it may have to do with my race...either way...horrible experience. You should be ashamed."
