"I scheduled an appointment to service my truck. While scheduling the service, it asks if you want an appraisal on your vehicle. As I have no intention of selling my truck, I said NO.
Apparently the sales people there don't seem to care. The following day I got a call from one of their sales people "Marco" or "Marcos" saying wanting to buy my car from me and saying I'd requested the call. I told him that I hadn't requested the call and that I only scheduled a service. Then he continued his speech about buying my truck. I hung up on him.
Maybe 15 minutes later I got another call from "Anthony", this time telling me the manager had asked him to give me a call to buy my truck.
The only reason I answered the phone is I thought someone was calling to confirm my service appointment.
Car salespeople have a well deserved reputation for being douchebags, and the people at Claremont Toyota take the cake. Please quit with the lies and dishonest BS. You waste peoples' time and energy.
The next day, I went to my service appointment. The advisor (Scott) was friendly. However, he recommended a brake fluid change, which I'd already done last July 35k miles prior. I advised him that I'd already replaced the brake fluid there a year ago and wouldn't do the fluid change unless the tech would show me the test (test strip or meter) showing the fluid was bad. Scott said he believed me and I didn't hear anything else about a brake fluid change.
When I picked up my truck, the receipt showed recommended services of brake fluid change, steering fluid change (also completed last July 35k miles prior prior), and fuel system cleaning (which I do myself).
The next day I received a text message about the service. I advised the person that of the services that had been recommended that were already completed. I was told that they recommend "preventive" maintenance. Sounds more like a money grab since they didn't show me the test they used to determine my brake fluid had too much water content, and the last time they recommended a brake fluid change, I'd completed it 10k miles prior."
