"This is an update. I bought a doorbell extender from 1800doorbell.com and I must say that their Customer Service is outstanding.

When the product I purchased was defective (not of their manufacture), they responded by sending a second unit in a timely manner.

When this unit was also defective, Customer Service contacted the manufacturer and had them contact me directly to resolve the issue. (The issue eventually was resolved so that I ended up with a working doorbell extender but this is a recommendation of 1800doorbell.com's Customer Service and not a product review.)

When product arrived it was defective. As I am not a "handy-man", I thought perhaps I was unable to figure out the instructions so I called in a handyman.

When he was unable to make any adjustment to the volume - which was so faint that it was barely audible when held up next to the ear - he called the service number listed in the Instruction Manual.

They did not have anything to suggest to try but said that the unit was defective and I would need to return to place of purchase.

This is what I will be doing. I will ask for a replacement unit and hope that it works.
