"I lost the remote for the DVD system in our van. I was unable to locate the original replacement anywhere except for remotes.com. Apparently, so far, they are also unable to locate it. They never sent me a response on my order. I had to email them to find out that they were waiting on it and it should go out on December 5, 2014. Here I am December 8, no remote. They haven't even received it from the supplier yet. And It could be on back order for a while. They have no time frames and do not keep the customer informed. No update, had to call myself. And when I called on December 8, the person I talked to kept correcting me because I was saying manufacturer when they say supplier. I know the manufacturer no longer makes the remote. The said they are waiting on the supplier. Which, let's be honest, is the manufacturer. There is no email to let the customer know it's not in stock and it will be on back order. No idea or information on how long it can be on back order before they tell you they cannot get it. I could be waiting forever for his remote. The problem I have is there is no menu button on my DVD system to bypass all advertisements in the movies.i cannot change the FM frequency without the remote. I could've ordered the universal remote anywhere and had it when I needed it for vacation but I wanted the original and I thought they would have it to me in time. This is a waste and now I still have to order the dumb universal remote."
"all good .. they straightened out my problem"
"They actually had original factory remotes for an obscure CD player brand Tascam (which I had never heard of, nor could find anyone, anywhere who could even point in the right direction to find a replacement). I tried for two days and multiple vendors and no one could help, until I tried these guys. Tasha was an absolute pleasure to work with in the customer service department, responded immediately to all paperwork questions I had. My favorite vendor for any product or service I have used in years!"
"Ordered a replacement remote for my Denon CD player late Tuesday night, got it on Friday. Appears to be OEM and works fine, even came with batteries. "
"I called Panasonic to ask if they had a remote in stock for a television I bought in 2001 (10 years ago). After checking, they kindly referred me to 1-800-REMOTES. All I provided them was the model number and within a minute the remote was ordered. In two days, it was in my mailbox. The remote even arrived with the batteries installed. This company is great!"
"Just had a good experience with 1-800-REMOTES. My mother was gifted a weird brand of TV (Proton) that is impossible to find remotes for (and it didn't come with one naturally). Remotes.com was literally the only place on the internet that I could find this remote. They sent her one within a week, but it didn't work out of the box. She called them up, though, and in another few days they were able to send her one that did work! Awesome!
UPDATE: They repaired the broken remote and sent it back, so now my mom has two remotes for the price of one! Bonus!"
"Ordered a replacement remote, received an email confirming order and stating remote would arrive in approximately one week. Ten days later, I emailed the company asking about the status and received an automated response that they would contact me shortly. They did not. I called the toll free number and was told I was emailed the day after the order and told the remote was on backorder. I DID NOT receive any such email. Later, I received an email stating I was emailed on September 15, which, even if true, was 6 days and not 1 day after the order. This did not coincide with what the CSR told me when we spoke on the phone. I would NOT do business with this company again due to extremely poor communication and even worse customer service."
"I ordered a Mitsubishi remote from this vendor. The website showed a photo of the remote I was replacing. It also had the exact same model number of the remote reflected on the Mitsubishi website. So, I placed an order. The item that arrived was a cheap replacement that looks NOTHING like the original remote (or the photo) - it also does not have anywhere close to the same functions. This was a classic "bait and switch". Of course, no return information was enclosed with the product. When I called, I was told to return the product to the return address on the shipping label of the envelope in which the product was sent and my money less the $7.95 shipping and handling charge would be refunded. In essence, I was swindled out of $7.95 (plus the return shipping cost). In my opinion, this is a dishonest internet company."
"I am very pleased with my experience from this vendor. I had my identical replacement remote in only a few days. My TV was built in 1993 and they had the exact remote (another site had the same remote but under a different brand name). The manufacturer discontinued the item but I was able to get a used one in very good condition (and clean). I literally opened the box and began using the remote. Batteries were already installed. I only received one email, confirming my order. I would have liked to get some kind of shipping confirmation or a tracking number, but since my order was delivered quickly (by ground standards) I would not consider this a big deal. The price was reasonable considering that my TV is older (hard to find remotes for it) and universal remotes costing more didn't offer 100% compatibility. If I had to order another remote I would check with this company first."
"The remote was a GE, but they sold out to
another company, then this company no longer
supported the remote, so I had little hope of
getting another (after the old one stopped
working partially). But 1-800-remotes had the exact model (with batteries), and shipping was quick. I am very satisified with the deal!

"I ordered a replacement RCA remote. The original just stopped working one day. I was a little surprised by how much a remote cost.
The on line ordering went smoothly. I got an e-mail back saying my order had been placed afterwards. The package arrived 5 days later. The new remote was already equipped with batteries. I unwrapped it and used it on my TV right away.
No complaints."
"I ordered an OEM remote on Oct. 6th from the 1-800-Remotes website, to replace a unit that my dog ate.
Their website is http://www.remotes.com or http://www.newremotes.com.
I received the exact remote that I ordered, well packed and pre-loaded with batteries.
Overall I am satisfied.
I have have a few gripes however...
Their website gives no indication as to whether the unit is is stock or not.
Immediately after my order I received a generic automatic response confirming my order.
A week went by and I received no remote or shipping notification so I sent them an email asking for the status.
I received a response the next day stating that the unit was backordered and would ship from the factory on or about Nov 1st.
I feel that 1-800-remotes should have contacted me to inform me of the back order.
In the end I received the Remote on October 24th, more than a week sooner than expected.
No notification was sent that the unit was shipping.
I'm not holding the backorder against them, since this was a very new product,
only that the website does not indicate stock and that no useful information is emailed by the seller.
These days I expect more Information about order status and shipping information from a web merchant."
