"I ordered the Nikon D90 kit and also the 70-300mm lense on 12/29 that stated delivery was available before the New Year. I rec'd an email about 30 minutes after the order was placed asking me to call a 800 number to confirm the order. The call was basically to sell me items for the camera which normally are part of the package. I was also asked to purchase additional accessories. I declined on all. I then rec'd an email on 12/30 stating that my item was no longer in stock and that the wait was 3-4 weeks and they had refunded my money. Their business practice is basically if you don't buy the items to increase the cost, they cancel your order. Also, the review on the site I was driven to has their rating as 5-star. I emailed them and asked them to do more research on their ratings. Just read all of the complaints and you will see that the ratings are inaccurate."

"Ordered a Nikon D 90, mthen they told me the price was only good for a Japanese version, then insisting on delivering the goods as ordered they lied to me that items were in stock, but got an e-mail next day that delivery would be delayed for 3-4 weeks because items out of stock (website still lists it as in stock). After telling them I would involve regulatory bodies and take legal actions if the goods would not arrive soon as promised and exactly as ordered, the company cancelled the order without any reason. To which I happily agreed.
DON"T BUY FROM THEM, it's all fake!!!
Believe the company is defrauding customers.

"Terrible experience. I placed an internet order from this company for a Nikon D60 "silver package" (camera, lens, tripod, case, etc.) for $399, the lowest price I could find. No problems with the order and I get a customary confirmation email confirming all the details. I was suprised when 2 days later this company telephoned me to "confirm" the order. First, the call spoiled the christmas surprise for my wife as she answered and said "the camera company is calling". The caller (unidentified except that they were from 1 Way Photo)said they wanted to confirm my order and "go over order details". Heads up. After reviewing the package the caller said that he noticed I didnt get the lens protector ($29 extra), even though part of the silver package is a lens protector kit. I declined. He said that if I got a scratch on the lens that it would void the warranty. Again I politely declined but was starting to get the gist of this call. Next the caller said I should get the rechargeable battery kit. I told him I thought the unit comes with rechargeable batteries and charger (which all the Nikons do). He said they were "one-time" use and disposable. After hearing enough, I said I wanted to cancel my order because of the sales tactics this company is using. The caller immediately tried to pressure continuing the sale and I hen was angered to, sorry to say, the point of profanity. Having no further resolution, I hung up and noticed that 1-Way immediately sent me a cancellation notice. I then did a search on 1-Way and discoverd this and other websites registring complaints against the company. I notice other reviews have reported this same exact up-sale scheme so this routine is probably a written program for these scam artists.I am going to register this complaint with the NY Attorney General's office and also the BBB. I encourage others to do the same if they have been baited or poorly treated in order to hopefully put an end to this company's practices. Thank you."

"Like many others I should have checked here before dealing with 1wayphoto. I ordered by phone and got the shmoosy switch. The $399 Canon XSi with lens grew to $899. The "one-time" battery needed to be upgraded for $200 and an extended warranty, case and UV filter were added by fast-talking Richard to make "the sweetest/best deal" to be found. After I contacted them 3 times to get a confirmation, I became suspicious and found the reviews on this site. Within 48 hours of ordering I called to cancel the order and was told it had been shipped less than 24 hours after I placed the order. The confirmation they finally sent gave "discounted camera package - $899" without giving the prices for the other items. Unfortunately, I was not home when the package was delivered by UPS and could not refuse it. I debated about opening the package, and I did a few days later. All the listed items were included. The camera box was unsealed and the camera was USED! The LCD WAS UNPROTECTED AND SCRATCHED. I have filed a dispute with AmEx for the purchase. AmEx has stopped payment to 1wayphoto. I'm keeping the box here until I receive return service labeling. This incident was a nasty reminder that cheap is cheap. STEER CLEAR. In the future I'll be sure to check this site for info about vendors from Brooklyn."

"I ordered a Canon EOS 12.2 Rebel on 11/10/08 for $329.00(body only){they have jumped from $329-$389-$299-$269 in the following weeks}. Two weeks later I call to confirm my order at which time(no name given) said the were on back order for 2-3 weeks. When I asked where on the web page it said that I received no answer but that I could upgrade to an American for a higher price. Called two weeks later and again on the 12/5/08 and the same song and dance back ordered 2-3 weeks. I was asked if I had a battery charger and said what difference does it make I WANT MY CAMERA again the bait and switch scheme came up. These guys are scam artists, crooks, and worst of all lairs. The BBB of Brooklyn got a E-mail and know are working to get these guys. Still no camera. How can they in good faith offer something that not available? Never again. And those posting great reviews must work their or are fictitious. A quick update: The cameras may arrive the middle of January according to the CSR who had to ask when the next phantom delivery would arrive. BTW they deny any deceptive advertising even though they do not have any product. Case in point their latest ad, have it by 12/31/08 and then use their shipping policy(if product is available)to counter your efforts."

"Trust the bad reviews for this company. Like a bait and switch or used car dealership. I ordered a Canon XSI with an 18-200 lens for what looked to be a good price, Then I have to CALL to get my order shipped? So I'm already wondering what's up? First the guy,Adam,confirms my order then ask which lens protector I need? I ask if it's included in the price?..."well,no but we can give you the better package for 30 dollars more" "Oh, and by the way this camera only comes with a one hour starter battery but we have a battery and charger for $200!" Now my decent price has exceeded the other web prices I found. I tell the guy no thanks I'm not doing business like this and he reminds me that "it's the same offer everywhere on the web" and "Your gonna waste a lot of time looking." Needless to say I would much rather waste my time and save my money than do business with high pressure scammers. I canceled my order and couldn't be happier. I found a great deal at a reputable site and it's already been delivered for X-mas. Stay away from 1 way!"

"1 Way Photo is not in the business of selling cameras that you want-they are in the business of selling you what they want. They play the Three-card Monte with the unsuspecting consumer and make their money by bait-and-switch, high handling and restocking fees, and grey-market equipment not intended for sale is the US. I am surprised that the law has not caught up with them and all other names they do business under. "

"Looks like I'll get in line with the rest of the good customers that got smoked by these professional scamers. Checked net pricing for a certain Canon lens, found out 1Way had the cheepest price. Ordered lens, received email to call to confirm order (Should of smelled a rat at this point), called and spoke with Mike who proceeded to sweet talk me into a Sigma lens, Stated lens was in stock and on sale for $799.00 from $1200.00 so I agreed to the change (dumb move). After checking Sigma Website to see what I just ordered I found out the retail price was $750.00. Checked other pricing on the net and found the same lens for as low as $279.99.

Lesson learned, check out the seller before buying. These guys are as slick as the gel they use in their hair. I have a friend who is an investigative reporter for a local news network locally where I live. I am going to see if he has connections in Crooklyn to expose these guys, put a face to the camera!! Hay nothing wrong with some free advertising.

"I ordered the Sony HDR-SR11 at a great price, and on the WEB site says it is in stock.
I got an email to call for confirmation, and the guy tried selling me a charger for $150.
A charger on ebay for Car and AC is $12 including shipping ! ! !
I said I wanted the item as ordered.
After not hearing a couple of days I called and they told me the item was out of stock.
These guys should be out of business, liars, thives, crooks, and any other word you want to add.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. THey will try to rip you off with add ons, like a 4G SD card for $500 (see on their WEB site), which you can buy for $12 at any electronics store.

"You guys are a bunch of scam artists. I place an online order for an $850 Nikon D90 with two lenses and a bunch of gadgets. Then you call me and supposedly offer me a better deal. I asked for you to e-mail me the offer so I can compare the components with my existing order and after reviewing it, I determined the offer wasn't all that great after all. So, I asked you to complete my original order, which you agreed however you then mentioned it was on back order for 2 weeks, which was never brought up until then. Needless to say, that did not deter me from wanting the deal anyway. Then I e-mailed you twice asking you to confirm my order and never heard back, then received a confirmation e-mail regarding the order that you suggested and I didn't want and called and asked you about it. You proceeded to say the e-mail was a mistake and I would get my original order. Today I get an e-mail saying my original order was cancelled because the items were out of stock and now that I call you at 6:20 p.m. and your store's answering machine says that you're closed - your store doesn't close until 7:30 p.m. and you somehow conveniently closed at 6:20? I recommended two of my friends to you who were in search of a good deal for a D90 and guess what? None of us are going to buy ANYTHING fro you. Just because you are in Brooklyn doesn't mean you can fool somebody in North Carolina. Many people who live in NC now are originally from NY and won't fall for your stupid city tricks. Shame on you."

"Friday 10th of October i made the following order via your web site:

Nikon D90 (only Body), Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX VR AutoFocus Lens W/ Starter Package , Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX VR AutoFocus Lens , Deluxe Digital Camera Case .

The prices on my order was:649 + 589 + 539 + 34,99 $ = 1811$

Then you contact me telling me that there is a problem and that the lens i ordered is not compatible with the camera I ordered, so you suggested me to make an upgrade of my order, plus to send me a battery charger with. I said “Yes” and then couple of days after I received an almost different order with a inexplicable higher price!!!! I tried to contact you by phone, but none answered the phone, I wrote a couple of mails via your web site, but still there is no answer from you!!!!

My order number is: #54877-WO

My questions are:

1) The Nikon lens is compatible with Nikon D90, so why you send me the Sigma lens?
2) In User’s manual of Nikon D90 is written the following: “one of the Package Contents is an MH-18a quick charger with power cable”. In your web site is written under “Contents” for Nikon D90: “Power Supply”. Well why I have to pay for an extra charger and why I never received an power supply for free, like is written in your web site???
3) I ordered a different kind of case, than the one you sent to me.
4) In the new order you send me is include Nikon D90, 2x Sigma lens, a UV filter, a case, a tripod (I never order one), cap keeper, cleaning stuffs. According to your web site the prices are Nikon D90 649$ Sigma Lens 2 x 599$ = 1847, the final price of my order was 2200$. It means that I paid 353 $ extra. When I made my order the final price was 1811$ with original Nikon Lens and a better case & UV filter including, after your upgrade of my order the price became much higher, but I didn’t got something more (except the tripop that I never ordered).?????

"The customer experience is horrible from order placement to order completion. I guess the bait and switch that everyone mentioned is effective on the inexperienced buyer. I admittedly did not have a great deal of expertise in photography but they sure taught me a lesson about what not to purchase. Their high-pressure salesperson, Adam if that is his real name, and their terms of sale is a bitter lesson I will not soon forget. If you are seeking a reputable company, then look elsewhere."

"I ordered without checking their ratings, and also was, predictably, ripped by these people (>2,200.00). Fortunately, by refusing to accept delivery, and aggressively pursuing it, including copying and submitting everything, including their fraudulent "values" on their web site to my credit card company (AmEx)the company took the investigation seriously and 1 Way Photo eventually refunded everything, including shipping costs both ways. During the course of these proceedings, 1 Way Photo even tried to impersonate AmEx in order to get me to settle! I promptly reported this as well. I recommend first, that you do not deal with these people, but if you already have and got cheated, be VERY aggressive through your credit card company. Refusing delivery of the mdse in the first place and carefully documenting everything is a recommended first step. "

"I ordered a camera lens and upon calling for a confirmation I was informed that the lens had a plastic mount and that a metal mount would be at a higher price. I said that i did not not want the higher price mount and in a very polite manner Scott asked if I wanted to cancel the order. I said that I did and he was most gracious in canceling my order. I received a cancellation notice via e-mail moments later. Scott (ext. 221) is a very polite and cooperative individual and because of him, I will do business with 1 way photo again in the future."

"Just wanted to thank all of you who put up your stories. I see alot that say "I bought before I found this site"....well... I found this site first and cannot thank you all enough for the warning. I called 1wayphoto today and asked the sales rep. how they were able to offer such low prices. He said "We are a wholesaler, sir." And I'm thinking "yea right". So I tell him that I have heard horror stories about people ordering "packages" and not getting batteries or being charger some crazy "processing" charge. "Is this the kind of site I'm dealing with?" I ask. All he says is "Nooo" in a really awkward voice. Well that inspired me to do a little digging and I found this site. I hope all of you who did get scammed by this sorry excuse for a company can take pleasure in the fact that you saved someone from the same fate. "
