"Got my on line order in a reasonable time. When I introduce the color cartridge, printer showed the message that I was still low in ink. Guess the black ink was low not the color, my bad. Change the B&W cartridge and the printer started moving the carriage back and forth for about 3 to 4 minutes, then declared that Paper was low. Tray was almost full.
Turned off printer and re-started it. Same issue again carriage moving back and forth. Opened the door and check in the right inside, everything was normal carriage moved again and I was able to check the right side. Oh boy did I had a mess. Ink all over the mechanism. Like I explained to CS, it appeared that the ink cartridges exploded. Printer cannot make cartridges explode, but a cartridge will explode because of diverse failures. Age of the cartridge or how many time the cartridge was refill. In any case my printer is dead and CS never recognized that may be cartridges was at fault. I asked to have my whole order RMA'ed but I was told to return only the unopened products. So major lesson learned, don't use recycled cartridges and stay away from 499 Inks."
"We ordered (2) XL Black inks. They neither one lasted more than a couple of days, instead of weeks like regular ink cartridges. We let them know right away we were having trouble. We told the company right away, and they said to check for error msgs. There were none. We did not need to use them the day we got them, and then they messed around getting us taken care of until they said they can't do a refund after a month. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SHISTERS! "

My first experience was great, so I purchased more ink. After using for a short time I found that the generic ink ruined my print head and I had to buy a new printer. They state satisfaction guarantee. I contacted the company and asked if I could return the ink that I could not use because i really did not want to be out the ink money and new printer money. I never got a response from them, so I will have to dispose of ink. Buyer beware, generic ink is not always good for a printer and this site is not reputable or I would have received a response to my question about a return. Satisfaction guarantee is not much.

"I recently tried getting a replacement for an EPSON cartridge I purchased at 499ink. The cartridge install persisted in issuing a "Not a compatible cartridge" message. When I emailed 499Ink they asked for a reason/copy of the error message which I sent them 2 times. after 10 days of having a dead printer I drove 25 miles to the nearest store and purchased an Epson cartridge which when installed worked properly. 499inks last response to me was to visit a web site that explained six or seven reasons on how to test a cartridge and tricks to get it to install properly. I could tell by the broken English in the email response what kind of people I was dealing with."
"I only gave them one star because there was no minus star category. Cartages don't work but lots of lip service. Acted concerned that they did not ship all of my order and that what they did send did not work. So far they have left me hanging. $135.00 dollar lesson learned."

"I wouldn't waste time or money on with this company...i ordered ink from them that they said is compatible with my printer the cartridge will not work. They said i didn't order the correct ink which i know i did because i just bought the same ink from walmart that i ordered from 499 ink .and thay is what ink my printer calls for ...they refuse to refund even though their company aas obviously very wrong and incompetent of doing correct and honest business !!!! Will never recommend them to anyone! I would give -10 if it was possible!!"

"I had an Epson 840 Workforce, working just fine until I installed the magenta ink cartridge. When I installed it, the entire screen went blank and is un-useable. I tried to reset the firmware on the printer as well as installing the original ink and nothing worked. The customer service team said that they could look into it but they explained that their recycled ink wasn't an issue. They said they would run a diagnosis on the ink that crashed my printer but it is going to cost me a shipping and handling fee to ship back their ink as they will not pay for shipping costs. I wanted my full refund but they would not take back any open cartridges so now I am left with a broken printer and thirty dollars worth of un-useable ink. It's recycled ink? The company that sells recycled ink will not take back recycled ink? It doesn't make sense. Terrible customer service!!!
I will not be using this company again. Stay away from 499 inks!"
