"just for everyone to know, i have experience working professionally as a vendor for 645af.com and genesis camera. They are both the same company, there is no difference between them. all of their merchandise is crap and grey market. after having worked for them in a capacity as a vendor i was shocked at how they didn't answer their phones when they were ringing off the hook, never even listened to their voicemail and infrequently even looked at their emails. THIS IS A COMANY TO STAY AWAY FROM!!!!!!!!!!!! They are a bunch of foreigners who i got the impression who were trying to make as much as they could and get out of the country. i hope no one makes the mistake of buying from them, because it truly is a place where fraud is taking place. I saw it first hand in their offices"

"On June 23, 2003 I ordered a Cannon S400 from Genesis Camera/645AF.com and paid with my
American Express credit card. I received a IXY Digital Camera, only to be sold in Japan, and returned the camera immediately. To this date they have not credited my account of $655.00. I called Genesis Camera DBA 645AF.COM several times and was always assured by customer service that they would credit my account. To date there is still no credit on my account. "Purchased two Nikon CoolPix 4300 cameras and one developed a System Error. Sent to Nikon for warranty and was informed that this was a "Grey Market". It was not to be sold in the USA. Therefore, no warranty--nothing. Buyer Beware! I have informed our Purchasing Department not to buy from this vendor again."

"I order a Nikon coolpix 4500 from this company plus some additional accessories. My Visa was debited on the day I filled out the on line order (despite it being July 4th!) two weeks went by and the camera still did not ship, despite promises that it was 'going out the next day' It finally arrived at my door with $196 in additional charges owing as it was not shipped with USPS as specified but by FedEx. I refused the shipment and was guarenteed a refund immediately - then within "10 days" and I am still waiting - it has been almost two months since my visa was debited and I have no camera and no refund. I'm being forced into involving Visa as this is fraud. Their phone lines are always either down or busy - when you actually get someone alive to talk to they are rude and unconcerned - this whole experience has put me off internet shopping altogether. I went to a local retailer and purchased my camera. I would not advise anyone to deal with this company or Genesis camera - their parent company. The don't return calls or emails and apparently don't pay their phone bills the amount of time the number is down.

"Worst experience EVER! Please DO NOT order from them or their parent company Genesis Camera. Made the mistake of ordering before doing research. Just found this site not too long ago and it is excellent! Wish I had seen this before I ordered. Anyway, back to my experience. Ordered from them more than a week from my vacation. They are in PA and I'm in VA, so if they shipped when I ordered it wouldn't take more than a few days. Ordered and it took four days before I even heard from them. Ordered a set for the Olympus C-4000 Zoom, so for those who feel if you order a camera set, you get better service, I'm here to squash that! Well I heard from them and I gave them my info regarding my CC. The next day I checked status online. Not shipped. Next day, same thing. It was to the point where I wasn't going to receive it before I left at standard shipping. Asked that they bump it up to 2 day air shipping. Never heard from them. It became too late to receive it before my vacation. So I called to cancel. Never got through to speak with anyone. The message said to email Customer Service. Emailed and told them to cancel. They responded on May 7th that they will cancel. That same day I noticed my card had been charged when I checked online. Went to my bank to dispute the charge. Come June 6th, I still did NOT have my credit! Went back to my bank to dispute and emailed 645af.com and let them know. Finally got credit on the 14th of June. I actually got my credit, and I am sorry for those who didn't. Please do not go through any of the hassle that I or anyone else on this site went through. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. If you want to give money away, just send it to a charity or your local church."

"Please do not make my mistake - read full story at www.gulfwebs.com/645af - I ordered a camera from this company last year and then cancelled the order. They accepted my cancellation but still billed my credit card $883.95!!! I have tried for over two months to get my money back and have even filed a complaint with the eastern Pennsylvania BBB. I don't understand how their site can display the BBB seal and the yahoo store featured site the way they treat people. Customer Service is extremely difficult to reach by phone and only 1 of my many emails or voice messages has been acknowledged. I have vowed to launch a full scale public awareness campaign about this company."

"A warning to anyone considering purchasing from 645AF.com or Genesis Camera - don't do it! I placed an order on 05/08 for an "in-stock" camera. Turned out the camera wasn't in stock and wasn't expected for another week or two, but this didn't stop them from charging my card on the same night I placed the order. I cancelled the order on 05/13, and spent the next month trying to get my money back. I ended up sending in excess of 35 emails and finally had to file complaints with my credit card company, Yahoo Shopping, the BBB, and the National Fraud Info Center. I got nothing but lies and delays. The only thing that finally got some results was that Yahoo's complaint process included the threat of shutting down Genesis's online store. I'm 100% positive that Genesis had no intention whatsoever of refunding my money until Yahoo's intervention. So, if you've already ordered and been scammed by this company, contact Yahoo ASAP!

"Order on May 12th, 2003, then cancelled on May 20th 2003, purchase of Fuji Finepix s2pro camera due to conflicting statements by customer service representatives on availablity of camera. Camera was indicated as "In Stock" item on web site, and was then unavailable. After prematurely charging my credit card and failure to ship camera on promised date one week later, cancelled order. Subsequent failure by company to credit my card by their designated time limit of 7-10 working days. Have cancelled credit card for protection. Card company issuer has opened investigation on matter. Have email by 645af customer service rep. that order was cancelled which is suffucent proof for credit card company. Enough said. Suggest buyers spend their time and efforts on more positve matters then dealing with this "stuff". Draw you own conclusions of 645af."

"I was taken in by 645af.com's positive ratings on bizrate.com, but it wasn't until after I placed the order that I found the horrible ratings this company has on practically every other consumer review website.

My experience matched most of the others - credit card charged immediately, and product not sent out as of two weeks from order date (when I finally cancelled the order). I was told three times that my order had shipped, after I had taken to calling them daily to try and keep them on top of things, then on the fourth call I was told that they didn't even have any of these cameras in stock, and didn't know when they would. I cancelled the order and will probably have to wait a few months before my credit card is credited. We'll see. I ordered my camera from newegg.com with no problems, and I even ended up paying less for overnight delivery there than I paid for UPS ground with 645af.

Bottom Line: 645AF NOT WORTH THE HASSLE!

"This is the worst online shopping experience I ever had. I purchased a canon s230 and was repeatedly told that it was in stock. My credit card was immediately charged. After 5 days when I did not recieve any emails about the shipping, I called them and they say now that it is out of stock. I have cancelled my order and just hope that I will get my money back without any hassle. These people are liars and should not be trusted. Please think 100 times before placing any order with them."
