"Horrible... I ordered one game (trade in plus $4.99 shipping) from the website directly. Scary but quick shipping (once they received my game) and I felt I got a better deal than trying to trade in and purchase at gamestop or such.
BUT, I bought from 'greatdeals'. Ordered on 6/16. Only accepted payment was check in the mail. They received/confirmed my order on 6/25. Check cashed 6/22. My account said "tracking info available" but they refused to give me any other than the order was shipped on the 25th. Inquired 7/30, was told he had to check with his 'suppliers'. Inquired again 8/5 when I hadn't heard anything back. He said it was back ordered and offered to cancel the order. Canceled on 8/6. Here it is 8/30, still don't have my refund.
Another fishy item, the seller reviews on the site. I would say that 99% of greatdeal's positive reviews are as follows:
Item received. Verified via USPS - 910114800860081139****
So let me ask, who is reviewing these sellers other than the sellers themselves? "
"worst online shopping with these guys...as the other reviewer says, these guys are all the same guys with different names as "sellers." I made complaints about the seller in question to the aegamesauctions guys, and they didn't even reply.
Problem with the seller i had, which was the biggest seller they had, Directbuy, canceled my order when i didn't even request a cancellation. I simply asked to check if he sent the right tracking number.
I believe he never sent the parcel in the first palce. He posted a lower price for the specific game by accident, and didn't wanna get the short end of the stick.
Didn't keep the promise of business...and these guys don't reply my emails anymore. "
"Awful experience with this site and seller (dealtree), which I personally believe are all the same people/person.
Lousy communication, changes billing and shipping policy on the fly. Very shady. I left negative feedback for the seller, based on the transaction falling through. I felt other consumers had a right to know. The site disabled my login at that point and deleted the negative feedback.
Decide for yourself. Facebook group started to review and share negative experiences with this site: http://www.facebook.com/?sk=messages#!/group.php?gid=123249157705663&ref=mf"
"AEGamesAuction.com touts itself as a place to trade and sell video games for free. It's an auction site with few users, fewer sellers, and light on policies. Right now, over 1100 of the approximately 1300 listings are from the same seller, dealtree. This in and of itself is cause for concern. Coupled with the fact that this seller does not follow the site's listed policies regarding payment is a huge warning flag. The site claims that all sellers must accept either Paypal or Google Checkout, both trusted and secure online payment venues. The primary seller on aegamesauction.com side steps these rules by stating they accept money orders, personal checks, and Google Checkout, but that "Unfortunately buyers are unable to specify the payment method of their choice." When asked for payment instructions, they reply that they only accept checks and money orders. The support at aegamesauction.com is silent when questioned about this, and delete any feedback left for the seller which points out that they are violating site policies. I do not trust this auction site.
Update: aegamesauction.com has changed their payment policy to allow their favored seller(s) to not accept secure payments of any kind. They did this after (finally) responding to my inquiries and they used wording suggested by me. Note that this change was made *after* my problems, so they are retroactively able to say that the seller who was violating site policies wasn't actually doing so. If anything, this makes me more suspicious. Somewhat unsurprisingly, the primary seller on aegamesauction.com is located in Pompano Beach, FL, the same city I was asked to send payment to. A simple whois.net inquiry does not provide names of any contacts, though."
