"Been a customer for almost 14 years now with AimSurplus, never had a bad interaction or experience prior to this year, albeit I only order from them 1-2 times a year.
Aimsurplus was notified multiple times that my order had not left the origin USPS center. After about 3 weeks past the estimated delivery date, I let them know that I still did not receive my order again. I contacted USPS, which verified that Aimsurplus had already received the claim and that they were refunded completely for their loss as a company. With me still being out of my money, I requested a chargeback via my credit card company. Aimsurplus was notified again, stating that USPS had refunded them completely confirming with me via email and Aimsurplus failed to contact me again letting me know that the issue was resolved. Aimsurplus feebly responded that since USPS resolved the claim and gave their company a full refund, they would "Send me a replacement." They then noticed that I performed a chargeback an entire month after the failed delivery, and told me that I was a customer they would not do business with again because I did a chargeback rather than "giving them a heads-up that I was about to request a chargeback." They continued to gaslight me like I was in the wrong, despite them failing to deliver my order for over a month and stated that chargebacks cost them more money -- even though they failed to resolve the issue prior to then.
Anyone else had a poor customer service interaction with this company or have they really gone this downhill?"
"Visited this last Saturday and love this place, awesome prices and a ton of items in stock. These guys walked me through building a AR."
"AimSurplus requires the buyer to pay for shipping insurance. The buyer is entitled to receive their item as ordered and if the package is lost, it is the sellers responsibility not the buyers. Their terms and conditions flip this around and make it so that they are not liable for shipping damages/losses and then make it the buyers responsibility to pay for shipping insurance. Requiring the buyer to pay for the sellers insurance is wrong and you should avoid this place. "
"I've purchased several milsurp firearms, used magazines, new firearms, and other gear from AimSurplus the past several years. I have found their products to be as described or better every time, and they ship faster than anyone in the business.
As for someone boohooing that they won't ship to places that may provide severe shipping or even possible involve them in indictable activity, go cry me a river. It's called Free Enterprise in a free country.
I am a veteran, the father of a veteran, the father of an officer serving, the son of a veteran, the grandson to two veterans, and the nephew of many; I am so ashamed of folks wanting special privileges because they did their duty. How pathetic.
Oh, and I'm also a twenty year LEO. Ethics matter and AimSurplus has good ethics."
"Aim Surplus refuses to ship to a 01/03 FFL and active duty military personnel of CT. This policy is appalling as it exhibits a blatant disregard for not only the 2nd amendment of our constitution, but also those who serve in defense of our states and our great nation. Aim Surplus should be boycotted by all patriots, service members and federally licensed dealers and collectors."
"Great LEO TURN-INs in the past. My third from Aims. The S&W Model 10-6 was a waste of money. I expected the revolver to be worn. That is ok because it the charm and the history. Being retired USN, I looked forward to having a piece of history (as advertised) but the revolver was non functional. Aim indicates that they will replace but not repaired. I offered to pay for the repairs. Aim rejected."
"Quality control is terrible, It's now all about making $$$$ used to be a family business now reeks of shipping anything then fall back on the return process. Ordered a Glock 27, what was sent a deeply scratched pistol with a replacment frame ...had about 30 orders prior without any issues. except some magazines that should have never left the warehouse which I had to return. "
"Ordered a matching grade 2 rifle through shipment to local ffl. As described, covered in grease. After cleaning, discovered didn't match. Their offer was to give refund to non-match price. Not what was advertised nor what I wanted. After back and forth they said would refund shipping. Nothing for transfer fee or time/materials in cleaning. Not even discount on future purchase. They stopped communicating and have yet to refund."
"AIM is a great company with great prices and wonderful customer service. The staff is knowledgable and always ready to help."
"Great Deals, Fast Shipping! And they actually answer their phones!"
"WARNING: The rancid sense of sordid honor is like the lingering smell of a corpse. My 6/5/18 experience was poor. We physically visited the store during an advertised sale of 9mm stock @ $6.95/box. The counter guy said to our 2K and 1K orders: "We're out of it but would you like another brand at the same price?" Sellier & Bellot was substituted.
Hours later the receipts were examined and charges were $8.95/box. Call one (Scott) assured me the amount would be changed by the time the CCard was posted; it was not. On call two the office replied S&B @ $6.95 would be below cost (this is my problem?!) and that it's my responsibility to check the receipt before I leave the door; that's pretty thin. Ostensibly this absolves AIM of consequence for sales counter error and/or bait & switch which was compounded by business arrogance.
The difference is $40/K, $80/2K, and while a return was offered there is a 15% discretionary restocking fee; do the numbers & it'll be clear. In our experience AIM Surplus is a waste of time, interest, money, and gas. Wouldn't recommend them; never again."
"Bought two 92s one was on pristine condition other pretty good .I am very pleased with customer service and help with shipping to my gun shop"
"i have ordered guns and ammo from aim,no problem.the last couple of times i tried to order a couple hundred dollars worth ammo.just before checkout, was prompted to put my zip code in to get shipping cost..did that ,,then proceeded to finish purchase,---final bill had a much higher shipping charge. whats up with that !! happened last two times tried to order.got mad and cancelled order..probably price with shipping still ok,but ticked me off. i live in pittsburgh,pa. so shipping should be cheaper.,not so. . "
"Used firearms always sold out before email hits, i already notified aim surplus about this, very irritating!!, they must be selling them out in there store beforehand!!, that's why in unsubscribed from there email ads."
"I started ordering from AIMSurplus earlier this year (2015). They seem to always have what I'm looking for and at the best price. Their shipping prices are very reasonable to where I have the items shipped. When you factor that in, they have the best prices by far. I plan on buying from AIMSurplus in the future."
