"I just purchased a Canon EOS XSI dslr with the 18~55mm EF-S lens and accessories from American Digital & Video (AMDV) in Brooklyn, NY. I was very pleased with the price and the customer service was excellent. I've been tracking the price on this camera for some time and have seen it drop from the $750 price range to the mid to low $500 range. I've looked at many different sources and have found the best deals to be on the internet. I came upon AMDV quite by accident and had not heard of them before last week. I was really blown away by the price they quoted me for this USA brand camera. It was nearly $70 below the best price I had ever seen for the XSI, and I'd been looking for a long time. At first, I thought the price might have been for a grey market camera or was a misprint, but was delighted to find the price was valid. It must be Christmas after all! The customer service was superb and Eric was extremely knowledgeable about the camera and made some good suggestions for much needed accessories. He discounted the accessory prices, as well, and treated me the way a good customer would like to be treated. I am very pleased with the camera, which arrived seven days after I placed the order. Since then, I have ordered additional items and continued to receive great prices and great service. Needless to say, I am one satisfied customer who will continue to shop with AMDV. Give them a try, you might be very pleased with their prices. They are very competitive with larger, more well known internet vendors. I loved the price and the service. What more can I say?"

"Ordered a camera, sales person talked me into upgrading to a more expensive kit, told me he would throw in a bunch of extras- a $40 memory card, a $60 dollar battery, a table top tripod, and some other stuff. Got the camera, everything looks good, except the tripod. Very poor quality, little more than a toy. So I checked into the other items. The $40 memory card is available elsewhere for $15, The 6 hour(1100 mah) $60 battery is available for 12.95 (and its a 2000 mah). I got an email from AMDV asking me to write a review, but to call first if I was not satisfied. I called and was on hold for 10 minutes. I got someone on the line and was told that there was nothing they could do because of computer problems. I asked if they could write down my concerns and then call me back with a solution, and they said no, you will have to call us back. So, if you were to ask me about AMDV, My answer would be NO, I would not buy from them."

"I have never ordered from this company before AND I am not an employee or have any relationship to anyone associated with the company. I pondered ordering from AMDV company for a long time. I read reviews on epinion and other sources that evaluated vendors and read HORRIBLE reviews. I also noted to my self that the reviews were all seven or eight years old. I could find just one recent review - that was very positive and mentioned that someone from the company told them they were under new management.

I decided to take a chance.

I want to share that my experience was VERY positive.

I placed my order on "Black Friday" and by Saturday had a message to call them. I feared the worse given past reviews mentioning "bait & switch" tactics and other pans on the sales staff.

The person that I reached was, in my opinion, a very good salesman. He was personable and not at all high pressure. He asked if I wanted to purchase other accessories - and I didn't. He was very polite and helpful.

He assured me they would be sending my order out directly.

I had it in my hands by Wednesday, Dec. 2nd.

Some people might find the need to call to "double check" order specifics a bit pushy - and it could have been - but the sales rep that contacted me was terrific.

In fact, in retrospect the one addon he didn't offer me - an extended warranty - I might have actually purchased (my son ordered at the same time and his sales rep did offer him one, and he purchased it).

I should also note that I received no fewer than five (5) emails from the company advising me of the status of my order - including one AFTER the shipping notification offering to be of any service they could.

I don't know what this company used to do - but my experience with then NOW is that they have excellent prices, outstanding follow through on purchases and seem to be VERY interested in satisfying their customers.

I'll find more out about that soon I expect because the Free Gift package they advertised as coming with the camera and extra lens I ordered didn't arrive with the order. It is possible they ship separately - or maybe they forgot. I've written to them to see.

The Free Gift was no major factor in my decision in the first place. I am interested to see how they respond, however.

So far I have been exceptionally well pleased with my order. Looks to me like AMDV is trying very hard to create a new corporate image."

" After being stung by TECHONdigital via Camera Whiz I was very upset that dealers would resort to what is just crooked business. I also tried to buy from Delta Camera and several others and found they all run some sort of scam...If it looks like a great deal becareful. Being upset I decided to try one last time and found AMDV, they knew what the industry was doing in the sales field and assured me they were not that kind of business. On line with AMDV I ordered the item and was sent a comformation of the order. Several days later I got a call to verify some information, no switch, no push, no crookedness. Then a ship date, from UPS a delivery date.
