"I very rarely write reviews. In general, my experiences to not warrant feedback. in this case I have to give my experience with AVA what market people call "top box" performance.
The order did take some time to get into my hands, but I am very satisfied with the whole experience and the end product.
The time to complete the order was not any different than one would expect from anyone building a custom system and when it arrived the build quality was obvious as was the packaging and the build sheet.
It was nice to get a system free from bloatware. I was taken aback how empty my menus were...non of those, try this or that stuff. or some crippled piece of software that had no business existing.
Im an engineer by trade(education) and use this machine for more than games, but games is where it is really pushed.
Mafia 2 in full 3d had me thinking I was Italian from one moment to the next...not a lost frame rate here
Batman was great the second time through and I just started Fallout NV with all of the setting maxed.
Great system and company, I will be buying my next system from them in a year or so when my desktop starts to show its age.

"I ordered the same $2600 laptop(same configuration) from another reseller and it arrived with a damn stuck white pixel which wouldn't go away no matter what I tried so I sent back for a refund.

I turned to AVADirect(something I should have done in the first place!) They were very helpful during the whole process and when I used their online chatting system to see how the building process was getting along customer service was extremely professional and friendly. "I've waited a year to write a review, so that I could truly give a review that's objective and unbiased. As a grad student in Architectural Design I demand quite a lot from my notebooks. I use modeling software, photo-imaging software, and video editing software. In other words, the most demanding software packages around. My Clevo M860TU notebook crunches these software packages with ease and grace. It's also a beautiful piece of hardware, and I get compliments about it from time to time. Usually by fellow techies, who want to know what kind of notebook it is, and where I got it built. The black brushed aluminium finish of the case is understated and refined, perfect for an architect or anyone with a refined sense of taste and style. There's no garish,cheap-looking, glossy plastic to speak of, just clean lines beautifully accented with silver. A year later it still looks great. I've had almost no problems whatsoever. Just one minor hiccup that's too minor to mention. AVA isn't the cheapest reseller out there, but in my eyes they've proven to be worth the extra cost. Once I had placed my order they kept in constant touch with me, until I received it. It is my opinion based on my experience with AVA Direct that they are a reseller worthy of trust and high expectations. I'm completely satisfied. "

The problem is that I live in Russia, and though there is no information on their site that they can ship to Russia, they agreed to do it. When I finally found a few options, they were way overpriced. At AVADirect, I was able to customize my laptop with exactly what I wanted, without spending the additional money on things that I didn't need. They also had many options for customization, including many top-of-the-line hardware choices.

It didn't take too long to assemble my laptop and ship it to me, and it was easy to check my order status online. The laptop was packaged and shipped very professionally and safely. While the build/processing time is a bit long, the wait is worthwhile and understandable given the nature of custom builds and component availability. Ever try to get one of those big laptop companies to 'customize' a laptop? Quite a few limitations and the delivery went rapidly into ridiculous.
