"Found Abertek on e-Bay and odered two Pentium system boards. Received good feedback on order status and prompt shipping. Very businesslike transaction."
"board was bad and i took it to the shop and they said it was bad sent it back in asked for a refund or my bad board back and nothing but emails saying there was damage, well i guess so or i wouldnt of sent it back. many emails sent and nothing in return am taking it to my credit card and asking them for a refund. bad company to ask for refund or the bad product back."
"Placed a 'Buy Now' order on eBay with Abertek. Was well aware of their payment/shipping process.
After the order was placed I submitted a credit card and shipping information (with paypal confirmed shipping). I got feedback saying that they would ONLY ship to the billing address of credit card.
I told them that I was in the military and that I would not be able to rx the order at the billing address of the credit card... And could we please simply cancel the order given their policy.
Abertek response: If I did not pay them for the order, they would give me negative feedback on my 100% positive eBay rating.
However, they offered a fax form that allowed for actual signature and CC info that would allow for a 'ship to' other than billing address of CC.
30 days later, the package still had not arrived at the specified address. I had to order replacement product from another vendor to remedy my shortage.
I contacted Abertek customer service and they assured me the package was sent to the address we had agreed upon on the fax form. And to 'give it a few more days'.
As it turns out, Abertek had disregarded the faxed in form and shipped to the billing address of the credit card.
Needless to say I had to arrange, at additional expense, to have the US Postal service forward the package to my military address.
I then promptly asked Abertek for a refund of freight.
Abertek response: "You ended up getting the package, and we are not going to refund the 16$ freight"
They admit their mistake, yet they refuse to remedy the situation.
Good Luck Abertek.

"Don't buy anything from this company they are the worst company I have ever dealt with and they have stolen my money.
I won their item on Ebay, it was a Long Range PCMCIA WiFi card for my Laptop. Well I asked them for a total price, and they said $66.75. I then paid it using Bidpay, because they didn't accept Paypal or anything like that.
The item did not arrive, so I email them and they said that I had not covered payment for shipment.
I argued with them, and in the end I asked them for a full refund. They then denied that they had received my money, and said it was still with Bidpay.
I contacted Bidpay, who said Abertek had taken the money out.
I then paid for Mediation costs through SquareDeal and Abertek said that they would refund me the difference after taking out the cost of the ebay posting.
Well they still have not paid me back, and have effectively stolen my money.
I've reported them for fraud with Ebay and ebay have given them a warning and I have repeatedly asked them for my money back with no result.
Update 15th September 2003:
I have just received a check back for 62$ from Abertek as refund for the item i purchased 3months ago."
"The following is a copy of an email message I just sent to Abertek due to a previous statement of "guaranteed lowest price in the net" which has now been changed to "lowest price on the net":
"Still not true because you do NOT have the "~Lowest Price on the net~" for many of the items on your website.
A quick search at www.pricewatch.com will show you that what I said above is completely true!
You might also want to check www.resellerratings.com to see the comments made by some of your customers. I took those comments with a large grain of salt but now that grain is getting smaller and smaller.
Why am I pointing out these discrepancies and the truth? Simple, I came into your store today with easily verifiable PROOF of a lower price on a better
version of the SAME video card you sell and you were unwilling to budge an inch on your price, despite the previous "Guaranteed lowest price on the net" statement which has now been changed to "~Lowest Price on the net~"
which is still untrue. Basically you have no guarantee and apparently don't care about repeat walkin business. Because of the false statements on your
website and unwillingness to offer a compromise price you have just lost a customer for good. It must be nice to be able to afford to lose customers in today's business climate.
I will offer a thank you in that when I left your store today I went to a store I usually avoid. That store was Best Buy. They had a Visiontek GeForce3 Ti200 card on clearance for $139.50 with a $30 mail-in rebate.
After I paid for the card I discovered the rebate had expired. I then went to their Customer Service counter and explained the problem. They gave me a refund of $30 plus tax so my total cost for the card was only $119.27
including tax. So I thank you for saving me at least $60 and getting a card that has a Lifetime Warranty vice the 1 year warranty Chaintech cards that you sell.
I am posting an exact copy of this message on www.resellerratings.com .

The truth is out there. You just have to look in the right places and ask the right questions.""
"I was a little scared by some of the comments so far. I won an eBay auction from these guys for a GeForce 3 Ti200 video card. I had a few problems with communicating with them, but they did ship quickly when I PayPal-ed them. Product arrived as advertised. Actually somewhat better than advertised as there was a software bundle included that they had not included in their eBay posting.
Price was great, card arrived in factory shrinkwrapped box and performs perfectly. I'd still probably hesitate to order anything complicated from them, but for standard, commodity hardware they seem to be great!"
"I would like to say that THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. This is not an exaggeration. I would sooner shoot myself in the face repeatedly with a harpoon before ordering another product from this website. Heres the gist:
I ordered a motherboard that claimed to support PPGA celeron processors, FCPGA processors, and Tualatin processors.
Well, when I bought the board I had a ppga processor. (a celeron 433 to be exact). I figured I would plop this processor in this board, and then upgrade to a celeron 1.2ghz later on and just swap the processors. Well, I put in the 433mhz processor, and get nothing happening. My fans spin, but nothing happens. I swap every possible thing in and out of the motherboad except for processors. I then figure out that this board does NOT support PPGA processors. Ok, so I was angry but I figured I'd get the celeron 1.2ghz processor and use it later. I finally get it a month or so later, and I put it in the system. It runs at 800mhz....NOT 1200! I get into the BIOS and realize that the board doesn't even support the clock rate of 12 (which the ebay auction said it did). I also noticed that there were no front side bus settings like they said...they said there were 66/75/83/100/112/133/150mhz settings. The only ones that there WERE were 66, 100, and 133. The auction said that this theoretically supported processors with a speed of 1.8ghz, and I could not get my 1.2 to run.
So I emailed the company. No response. Email again. No response. I email them saying "I emailed you twice with no response, are you going to respond to me or what?", and they say "oh we never got the emails, send them again". I email again..no response. So I decide to call them up. The only person there that can talk to me is a secretary, and she tells me to EMAIL THEM because she has absolutely no power over the RMA service. through about another month and a half of BSing around and them telling me to email them, I finally say "Look, if you don't give me a refund I'm reporting you for fraud. You falsely advertised and are giving me no way of getting an RMA for my product that you sold me under false terms."
They still chose to ignore me. So anyone who is considering ordering from abertek please smack yourself in the face. I reported this company to www.fraud.org but I do not know if they have taken any action against them or not.
Go to ebay and view this company's feedback. They are registered as www.abertek.com on ebay. They have about 3% of their auctions with negative feedback, which is extremely high for a company of this size. Also, notice that MANY people were sent the incorrect items such as I was. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY, EVER!"
"Against my wishes, my husband did business with this company again. He purchased 498.41 worth of equipment. It took them weeks to finally have it delivered via ground by Fedex. We sat and watched on a saturday as the driver rolled 2 boxes out of the truck dropping them onto the ground. He then picked them up and dropped then again. They weighed 20lbs together. They both said fragile and stated on the boxes there were computer parts. My husband that same evening put the computer together as he has done for the past 13yrs. It did not work and the case was dented. On that Monday we contacted Abertek and explained in detail what transpired. They were to contact their Fedex rep and arrange for the items to be picked up and shipped back. This took a week. We kept getting told that we would get a return call, but we always had to contact them long distance. We sent several emails regarding this situation. Amy, their competent front desk agent finally got tired of us calling to check the status and said, and I quote, "I feel like you are pushing me. I am doing what I can." Well, sorry honey but part of customer servicing is handling the customers. Note, being a customer service rep and trainer myself, you never, ever make your customer feel like they are to blame for anything. The customer is always right. Well, finally all the hoop jumping, Fedex got the items delivered. I was to receive a call as Amy had stated on Saturday. She stated she would be in, but no call. They inspected the parts and found that 2 of the compenents were indeed damaged and they clearly saw the case was damaged. This information was obtained today after we called them yet another time on our dime. Today is April 30th, 2002. My husband went around and around with her and again she felt as if she was being pushed. She stated that her Fedex rep has been advised of the situation and that they are the ones that need to investigate. Well, I got news for Abertek, the company that a customer buys the product from is ultimately responsible regardless of who your shipper is. You could ship via horse and buggy and it does not matter. So, my husband told her that if they don't take care of it, we will just dispute the charge. Well, I am tired of dealing with their lying and their non-customer service oriented personnel. So, I not only contacted my bank and disputed the charge, but I have Visa Gold protection and reported it to them. I have also constructed a letter to the BBB and I am writing the CEO, Meg Whitman of Ebay. Abertek does a lot of business with Ebay and I am sure they would love to know the lack of service provided by Abertek and drop them from their list of affiliates. All in all Abertek is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with, next to Delta Airlines. I strongly suggest perspective customers start looking into other companies. For instance, Andara Technologies. That is who we are dealing with at present."
"After ordering, immediately charged the card. 3 days later, sent a mail saying item was shipped, but provided no tracking number. Item has not been received till date (more than 60 days later). Will not provide refund, will not claim with shipper and atleast offer a refund when claim settled. WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN, BEWARE IF YOU EVER GET A PROBLEM. VERY UNCO-OPERATIVE. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SEVICE."
