"Not much to tell. I shopped for a Nikon camera, which I think were out of stock at the time. They contacted me later with a good deal on the Nikon that I wanted plus the lens which I wanted."
"You just made this really easy and I am so excited you have it in stock, thank you"
"Found great price for the Tamron lens I needed....It's on backorder, but saving a few hundred and free shipping is worth the wait! Easy ordering process, too!"
"Easy to buy products at a great price."
"Very hard to find this item in stock right now. I was happy to land it."
"Great price!! Super easy to order!!"
"I was easy to review and compare. Prices are good. "
"These guys are selling import models and its buried in the fine print. When you place your order for the very competitive price then they call you to verify and thats when you find out the true story.
This was a Sony A7III that turned out to be a grey market unit straight from Japan with no US warranty and a 1-hour battery. Then they try to upsell you the US model. Classic bait and switch.
The guy on the phone was pushy with a hard sell and kind of a **** about it.
Buyer beware."
"I wish I had seen these reviews before I purchased from Abes of Maine. I saw a great price for a Fujifilm lens and placed an order. I was asked to call and confirm the order. It has nothing to do with confirming an order, but a chance to upsell you other items. I was also informed that the $520 lens was not a US model and was not covered by a US warrenty, but I could get the US model for $699. Once the lens arrived I checked the box and saw that the warrenty is for Japan only. This is classic bait and switch, and is clearly a con. If I want to return the lens I need to pay a 15% "restocking" fee. "
"Bought a camera at a low price, then was called to be up sold on a battery then, the a warranty, then was told my lower price “international” version was not available but I could have the domestic version at a higher price. All this made me very uncomfortable and I canceled my order."
"Purchased a $2100 lens from their website, which NOWHERE does it state it is "import, foreign, or grey market"
Adam, calls me explaining its an import (ITS GREY MARKET, DON'T GET IT TWISTED ADAM) and wont be covered by manufacturer warranty (I did some looking, it also cannot be SERVICED by service centers, This is BAD for a lens I expect to use for decades.)
Adam offers me a "US RETAIL KIT" for a SUBSTANTIAL increase in price, comes with an "5yr Extended warranty" (1. HOW the hell can it be an "EXTENDED" warranty, when the item HAS NO WARRANTY, which I will find out soon enough)
I read some reviews and saw how **** these people are.... So I called the NEXT DAY and ask LISA at customer service, Lisa, is this a US model, or an import model?
"Well, sir, you got the retail kit, so it is a US MODEL" Ok, so its not grey market? "No, its NOT a grey market import"
Cool, Im happy with that, should have it the next day.
Read more and find out, there is no way to differentiate the grey market vs the US market lens....
UNTIL YOU SEND IT FOR CLEANING OR SERVICE.
Then nikon sends it back, at your expense and tells you they wont work on it..... GREAT.
So, I email them asking again. Is this a US MODEL, I just want to be sure.
They reply with "Call us to talk about your order". Clearly side-stepping any documented answer.
I repeated I would like the answer in writing, and requested they reply via email.
They have since completely GHOSTED. No answer, no responses, no nothing.
PS, look at that ARCHAIC Return policy. They know, even if they DEFRAUD YOU, they will still make CASH ON THAT RETURN.... 15% PLUS ALL SHIPPING COSTS Thats a good income for taking an item you fraudulently misrepresent, and turning around and selling it to another sucker.
More money in the return costs than actually selling the item. THIS IS THEIR GAME. HUGE PROFITS in reselling grey market goods as NEW US GOODS and reaping those return fees.
Everything I would expect from a New Yorker.

"Got hit with the bait and switch for a Canon R5 that was supposedly a July 4th deal. Asked me to call to confirm order only to find out they're selling international models with no warranty, site showed "in-stock" but was actually 4 week turn-around, proceeded to upsell normal price for USA model saying that I can avoid tax. All-in-all, not worth dealing with them--ended up buying my camera at BestBuy in NH for 10% cheaper."
"Overseas Product, No Warranty, high pressure rude sales calls after placing order, then cancel your order when you do not buy anything else"
"I purchased an A99 II about 2 years ago. The price was good and I made my online order. I should have been suspicious when I got a call back and was told I needed a battery. It was a bare body only, no battery, charger, or camera strap. I had to pay extra for these items and brought the price close to what everyone else was charging for this camera.
Now I suspect grey market but have yet to determine if this is a grey market camera. But there was nothing clearly indicating the camera's status.
I am really annoyed with the "Running on NTSC" banner that pops up every time the screen wakes up. This is way more annoying that the probably grey marked camera."
"First off, not an authorized seller of Canon or any other major brand. You get grey market equipment meaning no warranty. You get high pressure and lies when you call in and if you manage to navigate that verbal mine field you get placed in indefinite hold with no equipment and no easy refund.
I'm very surprised and disappointed this obvious sham store has received such a high rating. Because of this, I no longer trust resellerratings. That's too bad because it used to be a good source for unbiased info. Now it's been taken over and perverted by scum just like NADA and Kelly Blue Book has become since the auto manufacturer's have managed to buy those companies through shell companies.
I guess we're all sheep or lemmings now."
