"It did no go well,the 2 stars are for the Salesman not the projector. I ordered the projector online priced competitively with other places.Paid $1349.00 but the sales person had get involved (he called),I guess for commission. He told me the price was for the International version,that's B.S. it's not listed when ordering it. But he said he'd rushed the delivery time to 5 business days and he sold me a $200.00 ceiling projector holder (LOPM1). I did agreed to it. The price ballooned to 1599.00. When I received it the the ceiling holder dI'd not come with,it came a day later but it was not the holder I had agreed too. Tried to return (dealt wuth Customer Service ).they basically did not want to take it only gave me a $60.00 refund."

"Bait and Switch. I carefully researched and decided to purchase and easily completed the order online. Shortly after completing the online order, I received a phone call from a New Jersey area code. I hesitantly answered to find it was Abe's of Maine confirming that it was me that had in fact placed the order online. After confirming this, he spoke quickly about the camera not coming with anything. No body cap, no battery, no strap, no charger...lens would be without any lens caps... but I could add them and some other items that normally come in such a camera purchase for several hundred dollars more. If I accepted he would throw in free expedited shipping. If I did not, they would have to wait a couple weeks to get the camera and lens that I ordered without ANY accessories for the price on my order. I later learned the cameras they sell are gray market not intended for sale or servicing in the US. I cancelled my order. I'm in sales, the tactics they use are unethical."

"Purchased a camera body; got email from "Jeff Stevens" asking to confirm purchase. Jeff asked if I wanted the 2-hour or 5-hour battery– caveat being that the extra battery would cost an extra $80 but that he would throw in a "free adapter". I told him no, I already have an extra battery. He said he would ship out the camera then.

A day later, got a call from a different salesperson. Said the camera would be backordered for another 6 weeks but that they could ship it out today for an extra $90. I said no and just ended up cancelling the order, which the salesperson ended up doing immediately.

This was my third time purchasing from Abe's of Maine. First time was a couple years ago– sales person pressured me into buying the accessories; got a partial refund after writing a review. Second time purchasing from Abe's went okay, which was why I decided to give them another chance but apparently they're still pulling the same scheme; I wasn't pressured into buying the battery or paying extra for early shipping but it is still apparent that their business practices lack integrity after all these years. Avoid this business. Also, a lot of the reviews here seem fake."
