"The new store is great at being THE PLACE TO SHOP! With very competitive prices and a good stock of Quality parts, it is my only place to shop. Thier support is the best that I have had, and is a relief to the tech world. "
"Buyer Beware!!!! I Live near this company I actually interviewed for a job at central computers. I put a pc together buying their parts. My power supply went out and the MB was not working properly. I had an experienced comp tech check out the PS and it was bunk. Central Comp told me I CRACKED the 1800 amd Cpu. So I bought another one. I made them give me the supposed cracked one back. My friend tested the cracked CPU and it works fine. THEY LIED. NOW they are closed. I took pictures of their shifty operation today. They are working out of the back of their store. For more info Please email me. I am going to try to go to local newspapers and prosecuting attorneys office. I have more horror stories about this company. They are still operating. I am not sure yet under what name but I am going to try to find out."
"Forget purchasing anything with this company, I wish I did my research as these ppl did:

Scam"
"Avoid Completely. MB arrived beat to death in its crushed box. The shipping box was perfect. Missing memory and absolutely no customer service replies for RMA or otherwise. This company is also DBA webuildpcs.com
I filed for a chargeback"
"ordered OCZ memory, then they went out of business.
This reseller is a fine example of the worst the internet has to offer!"
"Ability Wholesale is now a subsidiary of Noble Computers Inc (www.noblepcs.com). This is a new owner, who apparently just bought Ability's name, web pages, and probably whatever they had left in stock. Just click on Ability link listed above if you want to check it out for some reason ;-) BTW, location is not Portage, but Kouts, IN (boonies)."
"Stay AWAY.. STAY SO EVER FAR AWAY. I ordered a case 3/15/02 never received it. They charged my account, and now the company does not exhist. Phone disconnected. Website DOWN. If this so-called company ever surfaces again. DO NOT DO BUISINESS WITH. I got screwed out of 82 dollars.. "
"First time I bought from these guys should have been a good lesson. Case arrived broken, order arrived incomplete - no fan, bent CPU legs. Called back to fix the issue, and got yes yes, sure it will be in the maid right away. Had to do that 3 or so times before some of the stuff came. The broken case faceplate was never replaced. Ordered again, some stuff was marked as back ordered but now these guys have become unreachable. Phones are never answered. You get the auto answer that puts you on endless hold. The websites are not accessible either. BBB in their area says they've had a lot of complaints filed, and I am a couple hundred bucks in the hole. The credic card company said they will attempt to reverse the charge if no response after a few more days. Meanwhile, I am losing credibility with a delayed order."
"If I have only known about resellerratings.com back in early March I would have steered clear. Comments like “Avoid Them Like the Plague” would have caught my attention. I would have researched them a little better before sending them my money. The story is the same some items arrived, some on back order, and some not at all. I tried to contact them by phone, but they had a message that stated they work though e-mail only. (I haven’t called in three weeks, so I don’t know if they are taking calls now) When I sent some messages and they never responded I knew this was going to be bad. At this point I only hoped that nothing would go wrong. Well it did and I needed to send back a couple of items or at least get a RMA with them. I had already dismissed the $2 shim that never arrived as a loss. I then tried calling again but was still a dead end, so I followed the RMA process. With no responses from Ability after a week of messages I turned to the credit card company. I’ve never had a dispute a before, so I don’t know how well that will go. If nothing happens this will be one of those costly life lessens. Poor Shipping + 0 Customer Service = Stay Away"

"I've placed 2 orders w/ this outfit. The 1st transaction actually went quite smoothly, but the 2nd one has been another story. I ordered an Iwill XP333 motherboard combo, it comes with the motherboard and an OCZ PC-3000 256mb DDR RAM module. In due time I did receive the MB but there was no RAM module included (also, MB was missing IDE cable).
In short, they have been jerking me around ever since. They are nearly impossible to reach, I've e-mailed, called, and even sent FAX's, but have gotten very little response. On 3-12-02, after over a month of their BS, they e-mailed me assuring me that they would be filling my order, along with all the other backordred OCZ RAM modules "this week." I'll believe that when I see it. I'm going to give them until 3-18-02. After that things are going to get ugly."
"They shipped the wrong model motherboard and poor powersupply. Customer service (when finally reached by phone; emails were not never returned), sent me a FedEx call tag. They received the package over two months ago now, but no refund, no returned calls faxes or emails."
"I first off want to state that I am a former employee of this company, and you folks are right, their service is terrible, I worked CS for them, and was told to do things that I severely disliked, such as these "cancellation fees", wanna know why no phonecalls are answered, or emails? because I was the ONLY customer service rep there, they were too cheap to hire anyone else. Shipping was the same problem, one or two people to ship 300 orders a day, too cheap to hire more personnel... guess thats the world of shipping anymore... and RMA's, well there was a pile of 100+ when my employment was terminated.....
unopened and untouched.
but really, if you wanna know more, drop me an email.
Well frank, I would like it if you contacted me personally, I have spoken to quite a few of my friends, and no, it seems things continue..... and lets see... they have about 3 people doing the job i was doing myself, and I was paid less than a fast food employee. As far as these theivery charges, I have not been convicted, so you have no right, and don't believe everything you read or are told."
"Short version: Cen-Com (OCz, Ability, WeBuildPCs) is too big to take adequate care of its customers and needs to adopt better policies (needs to lower restocking fee, needs to stop using order cancellation fees, needs to beef up its email support and get a toll free 800 number). Adding: packaging practices need to be improved greatly and this line needs to be taken away from thier policies: "Ability Wholesale reserves the right to make modifications in both hardware and software without prior notification." My legalese may be lacking, but this doesn't bode well for those who'd like to recieve what they payed for.
Long version: My purchase was simple - one Maxtor 40GB harddrive and two sticks of 256MB PC24000 OCz DDR. A few hours later, before the order could have even sent to ship, I attempted to cancel the order via email - I didn't want to wait because they have a 6% cancellation fee regarding non-shipped orders. There was absolutely no response from the company. Several days later a package arrived via FedEx. Inside the small box was one DIMM completely out of the static bag, the other halfway hanging out. The pink bag hadn't even been taped down. Interestingly, the one that was still partly protected looked like it was scorched. Around the lettering, there was an obvious brown-gray burning and several of the chips were scraped horribly (no longer any lettering on the face). Since Ability Wholesale's restocking fee is quoted differently on the invoice from the website, I decided not to risk having to pay an outlandish fee and keep the hardware. I tried out the sticks of RAM one at a time. Needless to say, I couldn't even POST with the bad DIMM. The other is currently working just fine.
The next day, the harddrive arrived unharmed, and packaged ok (sealed staticbag surrounded in bubble wrap). It had been backordered. The drive works great and is currently in my Dad's system as his main drive.
Another interesting problem was that the email alerts for the FedEx shipments arrived as marked from "WeBuildPCs.com," the sister store of Ability. Both are owned by Cen-Com, Inc., just as OCz is now. I didn't know this at the time, so I tried to contact WeBuildPCs to explain to them that I hadn't ordered anything from them and there had to be a mistake. The message was via email and since the Cen-Com companies have a strict code of what a "good email" should contain, I didn't get a response at all.
As a side note, I think it's interesting that such an obvious bad DIMM could come from a company that now makes memory.
The day the harddrive came, I picked up the phone and called the non-800 long distance number Ability has for customer support. I decided to call because they wouldn't even respond to my emails even with all the "needed information" they talk about on thier FAQ for "good emails." After dropping the change for the phone call and waiting 8 minutes, a rep answered and was helpful in getting an RMA for the memory. The exchange over the phone was logical, quick and simple. There was none of the usual under-estimation of my intelligence - this let the conversation flow well. This was good support, but in my eyes it's too little, too late. Once this is straightened out, I'll never buy anything from a Cen-Com company. If I do buy OCz RAM again, I'll be sure to get it from another reseller."
"I would like to talk about the Viper's comment from a few days ago. I live in the area of AbilityWholesale, also known as CenCom, and I do know all about the service at the store. I know that I read in the local paper that "the Viper" was the guy that got caught stealing OVER $8000 worth of the stores merchandise and also an unknown amount of merchandise that he had friends come to the store and GAVE AWAY over the counter. As for the RMA's that counted to 100+ that remained, I know from my past RMA actions with the store, that "the Viper" was working on the "untouched" RMAs. It seems that his thievery kept him from conducting any customer service or RMA's. From what the town can figure, his thieving has cost the company tons of money, and a paper trail a mile long that is not as easy as it sounds to clear up. I see now that they have hired a pretty good staff for customer service and RMA's. I spoke with Pam in customer service after waiting on hold for less than 5 mins who transferred my call to the RMA dept. where Vincent took care of my RMA within mins and no hassles. I got my RMA package within days of my return, and I am now very happy with the company. I would recommend offering the company at least another look after the addition of a reliable, dependable staff. Just my 2 cents."
