"It's been a while since I've purchased your actuators and they did work fine. My dissatisfaction is the lift was too slow. I had two units in the trunk of my 1947 Ford to lift and close the trunk. They were 6" travel and rated at 150 pounds each. It took 6 seconds to open / close the trunk.
Obviously, if I was using it infrequently the time wouldn't be such as issue but since it's a street hot rod I prefer a quicker action. I realize the lower rated actuators run faster but don't believe they would lift the trunk.
I quest I would need to change the leverage ratio but I feel this would require a shorter stroke (higher rated) or a longer stroke (lower rated) but the cost to test and correct is beyond limitation."

"I bought some actuators from progressive automations a few years ago. I was building a van lift for my son because the price of buying one was astronomical. The ordering system was fine, but what really got me was the customer service. It was pretty great. Having a warranty on the components made it a bit easier to make the decision, but there was no real need for it since they’re still working. They get used at least every two days, and they’re still motoring along.



If I had to get electric actuators again, I would definitely go with progressive automations. Good service, good delivery and well-made actuators. "
