"Might seem odd to write a review on a store I cancelled an order with, but I just wanted to say that Scott, the owner of Advanced Design of Kentucky was very understanding and even thanked me for placing the order, despite my cancelling it a day later due to finding the items in stock somewhere else. For what appears to be a small shop he does have a decent selection of product too, and his prices are fair. Anyway, an overall good experience with this store."

"These guys were good. I'd give them an 8.5 out of 10. I ordered a backordered item that everyone on the net was out of also. They had a good price relative to everyone else and were willing to take my backorder which was nice. Long story short I found the item, a BFG Geforce 6800 GT, here locally and purchased it. They cancelled my order without any hassle or fees at all. The only reason I don't give them a 10 out of 10 is because they charged my CC before they shipped my item out. I would have preferred they waited so I didn't have this charge on my card for a week. They have now refunded my card and I am happy."

"Mixed bag. The workstation/computer has been a lot of trouble. First delivery was DOA, due in part to crummy packageing for shipment. Then the repaired one died a month or two later. They repaired it. Ran fine for awhile, but is starting to act funny again. In five months, I've gotten maybe 6 - 7 weeks of good use out of it. Maybe they just got a bad batch of hardware, but just about everything has been replaced.
Might have been some setup issues, but fixing them from a long way off is difficult - I've had to get a lot of local help and support.

"I have been dealing with these guys for two years now. Yeah everyone knows that when dealing with something like a computer there is always the possibilities of flaws and damages in shipping and forgetfullness everynow and then but these guys all go above and beyond to make things right. If something like a mouse is left out in shipping then they send it asap and do not give you a hassle about it. They take you at your word. No matter what they will strive to make it right. I have actually had their techs call me on a weekend from home in their personall time to help me out no matter how big or small the problem is. They pride themself on the best system for your money and that is what you get. When you call tech support unlike with companies like Dell or gateway you get a real person from beginning to end and do not have to spend an hour holding just to get an answer. These guys really know their stuff and will take all the time you need to fix or explain whatever you need. Watch for them because they are going to be HUGE. I love being a part of the ADK "family" as Scott refers to his customers!"

"D800 Laptop 3GHz, 512 MB RAM, 60GB HD, WinXP Home:

Absolutely rock solid performace!!! I use it with Nuendo DAW software plus MOTU firewire interface (purchased separately) and have not had a single hiccup in a month. We record/produce 50-60 CD's per year so stability and performace is a must! We get it all with ADK, and the service is very personal. I'll be purchasing all of our boxes from ADK in the forseeable future.

"I have been extremely satisfied with this seller. I am a computer professional (MCSE and Director of IT for a global company) and tried to build my own DAW. After struggling for months with problems, I contacted ADK and they were able to provide the information about my motherboard that was causing problems and I realized that they knew what they were doing. "Great job by these guys. I called about 4000 times before I purchased from them, and they answered all my questions, and gave me all the options, including less expensive options. Everything was dealt with quickly and efficiently. System is working like a charm. Good 2 deal with a company that comes across as honest and knowledgeable. No BS, and they don't act like they know everything. If they weren't sure about driver issues, compatibility, etc, they simply said, "I don't know" and helped me out with the research.
No problems here. I would hightly recommend them for pro users and anyone else. Excellent support after U get your system, as well. Fair pricing, as well.

"I purchased two systems both as heavy duty servers but minimal cost. Gigabyte 800mhz frontside bus with Pentium 2.6, 1gb memory, 2 120gb hard drives and 2 DVD/CDRW Combos. Fantastic systems and both together were under $2000. I have had no problems and tech support has been wonderful. Highly recommended. "

"My advice to you is to run. I am very disappointed with ADK, and in particular with Scott the owner. I decided on ADK after an extensive search, spending a good deal of time looking at companies, asking questions along the way. I am a relative novice in the pro audio field, and suffice it to say, am looking to make my life as technically easy as possible, and my entry into the audio world as smooth as possible. ADK ensured that music software would be installed, that an audio card I had bought through them would be installed, and all components would be tweaked to perfection. Upon delivery, the music software had not been installed, and the audio card did not work (to be fair to ADK - that could have occurred in transit through no fault of theirs). In any case, I ended up needing to reinstall the audio card software. I was also charged for a floppy drive I did not want. I was sent a replacement audio card, but contrary to my instructions and promises made by Scott, I had to pay for the shipment to take delivery of it at the door. This forced me to be at home to wait for the parcel to arrive. I also ended up paying out of pocket to send the faulty audio card back, and the return address I was given by Scott was misspelled, but luckily I had the savvy to now that the return address was on the original package. At this point I felt that I had experienced ADK at its worst, with that someone reminding me of a cross between a used car salesman and someone with A.D.D. In fairness to A.D.K., I did find one of the technicians, Gary, to be competent and helpful. I am now waiting for a refund, and it will be a good indication of this company's character as to how long this will take. If they need to be reminded, you can bet that you guys reading this will be notified. The whole experience has left a bitter taste in my mount, and plenty of frustration, and has even sapped my will to create music! To all you novices out there, the audio world is hard enough for non-techies, so watch out. Perhaps it’s better to go with a Dell or Gateway first (considerably cheaper for what you get), you get better support, and then as you gain expertise, you might consider easing into dealing with specialized companies. Good luck.

"I knew nothing of ADK until I stumbled across them while searching the web for someone to build me a DAW. However, it was obvious from the start that these people knew what they were doing. I am a complete novice when it comes to digital recording but Scott has been extremely helpful and quick to respond to my questions. I’m sure that ADK isn’t the cheapest equipment you can buy but you get what you pay for. ADK uses only name brand components and software and it shows. Everything has the look and feel of quality and my DAW worked right out of the box. If you’re looking for quality and service, I would recommend ADK without hesitation."
