Worse ever

"I ordered a mainframe for my drone and a couple propellers. Not only did I not get an emailed receipt after they charged my card, I never received my order. When I call it says the phone is no longer in service and I never got one response to any of my emails. So I figured I lost $47.00 and ordered somewhere else. What a joke. Fro. My point of view the company just robs people."

"Terrible customer service. Changing quantities of orders and immediately shipping without notifying you. Sending you an email after the changed order has already shipped. So you are stuck with an incomplete order or you must pay the shipping to return it yourself."

Horrible Company to do Business With!

"The prices are good but only if you don't have to deal with any customer service.

By far the worst experience I've ever had dealing with a company. Seems like a one person shop who gives you the runaround, has inaccurate product descriptions that don't match their images, not exactly a user friendly website, and did I mention the customer service is the WORST I've ever dealt with?

Sorry, but you get what you pay for and I'd rather pay a bit more and have a better experience than EVER using this company again!

I see this company putting themselves out of business considering they are so bad. Good prices will only get you so far ...

"The worst customer service. I purchased the RTF plane for my husband as a present. It did arrive very quick. When my husband opened the box the back part of the plane was missing. We called advantage hobby right away and we're told to take a pictures and send them via e-mail. Then we did not hear anything from them. After several days I was trying to call them and my calls we're not even going through to them. Then we called from another number and to our surprise we got a very pleasant women on the phone. As soon as I explained what was I calling about she was not that nice anymore. She kept repeating very nasty that someone will call me back as soon as they review my claim even though it was over a week since I sent them a pictures of a broken plane still in the box. At that point we had feeling that we not gonna get anywhere with them. About two weeks after that I called them again and was told that the only person who reviews the claims is at the expo and he will get back to us eventually, she could not even tell me when that men will be back. I purchased the airplane in February and now we are in April and there was not one phone call or email from this company. They have the worst customer service when it comes to fixing their mistakes. They shipped the broken plane and would not replace it. If you do not want to be disappointed with your purchase by it anywhere else but them."

"I have never had a worse experience with an online retailer.

I purchased a replacement fuselage for a Parkzone T-28. It arrived promptly but was damaged. I sent an email explaining the situation and asking that a replacement be sent. After two days, I had not received a reply. I then made daily attempts to contact customer service for a week. Not one of my calls or emails were returned. All of my calls went immediately to voice mail. I had to file a claim with Paypal which was just settled in my favor.

Horizon Hobby will get all my future business. They have always gone above and beyond when I have called.

"I just ordered an item on Friday (2/14/2014) that qualified for free shipping (>$50) and they stated it would ship the same day at ONE AMAZING price. Well, it's Monday (2/17/2014) and I got it already!

I did call them just to check the inventory level of the item, and was told "if you can put it in your cart, then it's in stock" rather than actually looking it up. Seemed a little rushed and brushed off. So Customer Service may not be that great.

Overall, I'm still really happy. Most upset individuals are going to "review" more than the satisfied customers. I took my chance and I'm REALLY happy with my purchase!

"I have never reviewed a supplier before but the customer service was so bad that I have to give my first ever review. They are RUDE! I ordered an item in white color and got a receipt that said any color. I immediately emailed them asking for a white one and this was their response - verbatim.
If you take a look at the Invoice that you placed there was never a color or frequency specified. The Customer Notes is the place that information can be added to, but was not.

You can return the item and specify the color you want when you reorder. There is a 10% restocking fee for a Return with a Gift Card issued for our website. Or, 20% restocking fee for a Return with refund. All of this information can be found on our website under "Terms and Conditions".

Don't order anything from this seller!

"I am absolutely disgusted with the customer service of the Advantage hobby staff... not only do they never return my emails their rude and completely disrespectful on the phone.... I placed an order last week on the website,afterwards I wanted to add something to my order so I tried emailing. With no response I called and spoke to someone . I asked if I could have my order sent by first class international (wich is usually $10) instead and use the difference in shipping price towards the extra parts, she then told me that my order could "NOT" be sent first class so I said to go ahead and send it priority as it states on my order invoice. I received an email from usps saying my order had been shipped via "first Class international" .... so I called to inquire and got yet another person on the phone who was very rude and seemed to have no care or idea as to what I was talking about.

you would think that their staff would do what ever possible to help your customers intead of treating people the way they do, Especially international customers .... but obviously they have such a vast customer base that you feel they can treat people the way i have been treated as a result of all the unprofessional, unorganized and utterly disrespectful staff that I had the pleasure of dealing with I will be sure to spread out all the reviews I can to reflect my experience with Advantage Hobby ...

"So I orded my item and a week later it didn't arrive. I emailed the store at the given email on their site and it took 2 emails before they responded. They said I was "confused" and "obviously didn't choose customer pickup - free" because I lived local (10 miles away). I chose "free shipping" because that was an option. Then this Sandy was very rude with emails and the owner (Len) thought I was threatening because I told him I would fill out negative reviews. Well, I guess you have to know their hidden policy. I personally would highly suggest avoiding any business with Advantage hobby. Horizon Hobby has much better customer service and reliability."

"There isn't particularly anything interesting about this store vs. any other online hobby store in terms of what 'advantage' they have. They seem very run of the mill.
All they seem to be is a store that tries to make the most amount of money with the least amount of effort...be a middleman between you and hobby company. Take orders, ship stuff, but screw the support.

However, one nice thing about their store vs. other stores in the area (if you're in their local area), is that you can place an order before 10am and pick it up between 5pm-6pm the same day. This is largely due to them being basically a storefront for Horizon Hobby who is 10 minutes away.
However, this only works some of the time, due to their changing moods of when to close the store. A couple of times I have came to their store within normal hours and they were closed, along with another customer who parked next to me and complained that he's cancelling his order, for which I should've done the same if there was another store to get the same part from.
The only reason I ever bother to order from advantage is this one and only advantage, and then when that falls through, it's just a waste of time.

Their storefront sells some stuff, but if you go in there asking some questions about what you should buy or if they have something you're looking for, you're treated like an idiot.
The only customers they ever like having are people who are ready to buy right away something that is sitting in the store or if you're there just to pick up an order and leave. They really hate it when you expect any customer assistance there as they always try to remind everybody 'this is mostly an online store' or 'you need to go to our website' to order.
That is, if you ask about something they carry, and they say yes, (or most of the time may not have a clue), they are too inconvenienced to look it up on their terminal through their database or even place the order for you while you're there. That's your job apparently...to go back home, to go on their website to look up and order (when they have it right in front of them at the store).
The manager is a former JR bigwig who has selective attention to guests that come in the store and is a major reason why I hate going there. He's quick to judge who you are and how to treat you based on superficial who knows what, yet will sound perfectly jolly around people he apparently knows.
I've spent near a grand at this store and I get treated the same mostly every time. Once in a while he actually seems in a halfway decent mood, but for the amount of money I pay I'd figure by now I'd be a 'regular' he can treat better over the chaff I used to be, but apparently still am.
His wife is a lot nicer than him, yet still can be gruff as well. There used to be a lady that worked there that was super nice, but she was only there some of the time and I don't see her there at all anymore. I can see why.
However the store is owned by some clown that lives in Hawaii apparently and really comes off like a used car salesman. At a show he sold me some (unbeknownst to me) going-out-of-style micro CP helicopter for what seemed like a great price...$150 (it had everything, albeit an old fashioned rx). But when I came back to ask questions about some problems I was running into (such as some missing parts, what seemed like it being attempted assembly and stuffed back into the box), he just grabbed another accessory pack for me to have (which didn't solve my problem at all) and asked me to leave...and I asked him to clarify and he literally said I should stop bothering him about it and be happy with his 'generosity'. Apparently he'll only be nice insofar as sweet talking your money out for the crap he pawns off and of course can't handle when you have questions afterwards...just like the rest of the MO of the store!

"Very not impressed I placed a order with this place the next day got a e mail from them saying that with out address verification for my cc they could not proses my order. I e-mailed back saying I had no other way to verify my address. But the address on the card is the same as the shipping. So it was OK to cancel order and I would go to another store. Well they did cancel the order but at the same time charged my credit card the full price ?? Yes credit card fraud was a problem with them so much so that they charged to the same card that they could not verify without the verification ?? Thin I got a e-mail saying my paypal account had be credited well OK but I don,t have a paypal account. I sent another e-mail and the next one I got back sad (our) account had been credited (our) what about mine. So I could go on and on but as it stands right know I have been charged the full amount of the order had the order canceled and I,m out the $$$. somthing is not right here "

"I had problems with them also. The homepage say "Free fast same day shipping! First time customer discount! Ongoing club discounts! It's time to shop with ADVANTAGE!" I ordered on a Monday at noon. I called on Tuesday at 1:00 and was told it had not shipped yet. The free shipping is on orders over $50 but they dont tell you that till checkout time so I got stuck paying a 4.99 handling fee on some small plastic Blade CP parts that weighed 2 oz tops and cost about $1.50 or less to ship. Seems more like inflated shipping to me. Finally, everytime I tried to finalize the transaction with the new customer discount I got a white screen with a server error message. First time I tried it without the discount code it goes right through. BS. I ordered from advantage because they are in Champaign, IL and I am right down the road in Indiana and I wanted the parts fast. Turned out I got no discount, overpriced shipping, and not fast at all. This will be my last order from Advantage."

"My one and only order with this company, and I will NEVER order from them again. It took days to have a voice message returned over a problem with my order, and the email responses that I received ignored my questions and were not helpful at all. After 4 days of this, I had to actually initiate a dispute with my credit card company for them to offer any type of remedy. I would highly suggest NOT dealing with this company, especially as there are many other online hobby stores who have always given me what I consider to be "top notch" service.
