"If you live near Alamia and do not have to rely on them shipping a product to you then this review can be ignored. I live 2000 miles away and I chose to buy my chainsaw at Alamia because of good reviews that I read. After just receiving my saw I my opinion of Alamia is extremely low.

The saw arrived in its original box but as soon as I lifted up I could hear and feel that everything was loose inside. Upon opening the box my fears were confirmed. The box was opened by Alamia before shipment in order to add the proper size bar and chain as well as an additional chain that I ordered. But the original cardboard or Styrofoam that was used to secure the saw from moving in the box was not replaced so the entire content of the box including the bar wrench collided during the five days it was being shipped. This is beyond unacceptable, especially for a company with a significant online customer base.

Also, someone had to sign for the delivery or it would not be dropped off. It was just by luck that I was home when it arrived. I am not sure how many people have the luxury of being home all day to wait for a package, but most people do not.

I suggest that anyone who is considering ordering an expensive saw (mine was $539) to consider finding a local authorized dealer. You will pay a bit more but you will get a saw that has been secure in its original box since it left the factory. That dealer would never treat you or your saw that way Alamia treated me. And by the way, if you are interested in how interested Alamia is in customer satisfaction, it is now one week since I informed them of my experience and I have not heard a word.
