"I am in the USN Submarine force. I enjoy gaming and freelance as a digital illustrator/tattooist when I can. I needed a portable PC that had an outstanding reputation for high end graphic processing and expansive multitasking abilities.

Alienware caught my eye when I saw several other shipmates enjoying them.

I logged onto Alienware.com and began to research there units. The layout of the website and computer order was simple and direct. I felt comfortable with my purchase very quickly. I placed my order soon after and awaited customer service to contact me.

A simple phone call and my order was threw. It took approximately 2 weeks to receive my new computer and I live on a military base. I was very impressed even when I requested custom hardware.

Alienware is not the cheapest. However, at no point have i been disappointed by there service or product. I truly feel I received what I paid for and would recommend this company to anyone looking for a solid PC. "

It was easy to place the order and I liked being able to see where and what was happening while it was in production. The m17 is a monster when it comes to gaming, but doesn't skimp on the speed during normal applications like some of the others on the market. "I placed my order, they said two weeks build time, only took them one week to build. I selected 2 day shipping only took 1 day to get my M17. Works as advertised and loved it since I took it out of the box! A++ would buy from again!"

"I ordered an Alienware m17x laptop in late January. The system shipped within 2 business days of the order, which was a pleasant surprise.

I had one interaction with Customer Service to get the delivery location of the system changed. Dealing with CS was very easy and there were no long hold delays. I got someone quickly and they were able to help me.

The system came to the alternate address without issue and the packaging was excellent.

I'm very pleased with the system. The system performs well and is plenty fast. The only thing I wish was available was an ESATA port, but I'm reaching for something to complain about.

Update : 7/22/09

My AC adapter has gone bad as of today and I contacted Alienware support for a replacement. The system is fully under warranty, however there is no over-night replacement and they even charge your credit card about $50 until they receive the replacement part.

At this point, I'm extremely displeased with the warranty support and probably won't consider Alienware again.

Update : 7/29/09

I received the AC adapter last night and is not the problem, the tech believes the motherboard needs to be replaced. RMA service seems to be the slowest I have ever experienced. The only available shipping options are Fedex ground. With shipping time, they expect to have a laptop repaired in 2-3 weeks.

I understand that hardware sometimes goes bad and needs to be replaced, but Alienware doesn't make it easy. If it does take 3 weeks for the repair, 1/7th of the time I have owned the laptop it has been not operational."

"Love it. I purchased the m15x. It arrived within a week and it's exactly what I was hoping for. The design is slick, I love the lighted keyboard and it's crazy fast. Everything was loaded perfectly -- no issues whatsoever, and the packaging and manual were very high-end. It's my new favorite posession and I feel special owning it. The only limitiation I have now is my broadband connection. My laptop can handle anything.

"Alienware laptops are a luxury item. However, having said that, it is a powerful machine that is perfect for gamers. It's highly customizable and sleek. I'm very glad that when Dell bought this company they left it alone. Alienware laptops are a bit expensive, but are totally worth owning."
