But wait...next morning another great clear speaking gal called ...to be sure I had not forgotten to order some parts with the Mini Split I ordered.. Told her I was fine installation was not normal ..

"My mini split 1.5 ton DIY unit came as scheduled, that day I installed the outside condenser, the next day I installed the inside wall unit and connected the two units with the control wiring and refrigerant lines. The unit is up and running well !! I put the hole in for the control wiring and refrigerant unit per the template, I believe that 3.5” hole should have been 1/2” higher because I can see the thickness of the wall tube below the wall unit . The other thing I noticed that the plastic plugs in the end of the refrigerant lines were loose on the inside unit."
