"After reading some reviews here, I was kind of worried. It is true they don't respond to emails. They did however answer the phone and told me the second bag was coming direct from TravelPro and it did. They could do a better job of communicating this ahead of time but overall it was a good experience. I would have given 5 stars if they had only communicated that we would get two separate shipments for the two bags."
"When I placed an order over the phone I CONFIRMED THE MODEL NUMBER AND COLOR THREE TIMES and they said it was in stock. Then the next day, I received the wrong item. Then I called them, they admitted that they made a mistake and had sent the wrong one. And so, they promised to send the correct one as soon they had received the wrong one. I had to call and ask them what happened to my order. Because it has already been three days since they received the wrong item. When I called they told me that they no longer had the item. And they apologized but as if they didn't care. `So I spoke to the manager and he cared less then the salesperson did. I definitely NOT recommend this place."

"Placed my order on June 8th and I'm STILL waiting for all the pieces to arrive and it's now June 30th. After the confirmation email, NOTHING. Don't bother emailing them because they won't return your emails. If / When you do call them, be prepared to be put on hold for at least 10 minutes or more and if they promise to contact you with any tracking number, don't bother waiting. I finally got half of my order after several angry phone calls but still nothing for the other half. I'm contacting AMEX to reverse their charge. Yes they have really good prices if you want to put up with all this aggravation."
"They never delivered a complete order......... We ordered a large 29" Delsey and a small carry-on Delsey piece. It was delivered to the apartment that I was moving out of to help me move out (and because I didn't have any luggage at the time). The luggage came new and looked great, but the 29" was missing the zip-in suiter. While this is not a huge component of any luggage, in this case it was the reason I went with this piece instead of another. I wasn't upset bc I didn't need it at the moment, but I did call immediately to let them know the mistake and ask that the missing piece be shipped to a different address (the billing address) since I would no longer be at the shipping address. ...One month later, still didn't have it. They said it was on back-order and it would come a few days later to the billing address (remember, sihpping address no longer valid). ...Another month goes by, nothing. They said they sent it to the shipping address and wondered why I never received it. I reminded them that the shipping address is no longer valid, please send to billing address. "Ok." ...Another month goes by, nothing. They kept me on hold "trying to get in touch with Delsey," said they'd call me back with an answer later that day, never heard back. I decided to open a dispute with the credit card company we purchased the luggage on. The credit card company processed a temporary refund until we received the whole order. ...Another month goes by, nothing. Altman now says they will not send me anything because a refund has been issed. I explained that is a temporary refund from our dispute to the credit card company due to Altman's lack of fulfilling the order, and will be reversed once we get what we ordered. He says he will not fulfill an order that has not been paid for........ Seriously?! He further says they are waiting on me to return the luggage since I were given a refund. (What? I didn't want to return.. I just want my zip-in suiter!) I confirmed--- return the luggage that has already been used several times at this point? "Yes." Really? "Yes." I'll take my refund and head over to Macy's where I can get the same piece of luggage... the WHOLE piece.

"Ordered a set of Delsey carry on luggage from Altman. Their price was 1/2 or less than what I would've paid for int he store. I received a confirmation email from them quickly. The order was shipped promptly and arrived in great condition. I felt the transaction went smoothly and I got a great deal. The only thing I would ding them on: no email stating they had shipped the order. No tracking information. But, I did receive my order very quickly and at a fantastic price. So, I would rate as very positive."
"I finally received the luggage set I ordered on August 11 on September 10. I have learned my lessons about ordering from Altman after waiting almost a month for delivery.
1. Don't expect a response to e-mails.
2. Don't expect shipping information.
3. Don't expect any word about delays.
4. Expect to have to call four or five times for order status.
5. Don't expect the company to credit your account while you wait for your shipment.
5. Don't expect a packing slip.
6. Don't expect the additional 10 percent off you were promised for the delay.
I certainly hope there are lessons that Altman will learn from this transaction as well. If you plan to order from Altman, please be aware that it may require more of you than you were planning to invest in time, energy, and frustration. "

"Terrible customer service. Purchased a piece of luggage. Charged same day but received about a week later. Didn't use it for about 3 weeks because I wasn't traveling but when I did travel I realized the luggage was terrible constructed and/or defective. The wheels make the entire rolling mechanism useless. Called Altman but they told me I was outside the 30 day return policy and they refused to do anything -- repair, replace, or refund. Rude and unhelpful. Told me to call the manufacturer, but it is there responsibility to sell products that are not defective. "
"I ordered a pen over the telephone. They said it would be shipped overnight. The pen arrived exactly as promised. Everything went smoothly. I would definitely place an order with Altman Luggage again. I am 100% satisfied with both the product received and the service provided."
"Great experience. After extensive online and in-store shopping I found Altman's had the best price for the item I was looking for and offered free shipping. I received confirmation within 24 hours of my order that the bag had shipped. It was shipped ground via fedex and I was able to track the shipment online. The bag arrived 4 days after ordering - NY to TX, ground service. The order could not have been handled better."
"Totally displeased with service, or rather lack thereof provided by Altman Luggage.
On March 9th of this year I placed an order for an Aurora 88 fountain pen, large size with the chrome cap, on the 12th I was notified it was shipped, and on the 14th I received the wrong pen (this was black and gold). I wrote them back that day on the 14th of March to inform them of their mistake, they offered to ship a return label. I did not receive the return label until the 20th, I had to call and have them fax me one as they never mailed the label.
Upon calling them I asked if it would be a problem to send me the all black with chrome pen instead of the chrome cap to which they agreed, but didn’t tell me that this item was on backorder (they didn’t tell me that until 4/19 when I asked what was holding up the order).
I finally received the correct pen on 5/05 however this one appeared used and worn, I emailed them asking if anything could be done and they said they could exchange it again. This time I asked for a fax label given my previous experience. I had to email them again on the 29th to verify that they had even received my return which they acknowledged and said my exchange would be shipping ASAP. On 6/08/07 I emailed them asking if it was possible to send the item to my work instead, and on 6/13/07 I was told by them that this item was discontinued and I would be issued a refund. The item is still on sale at their site, only now it costs $100 more than what I paid, and I am sure if I ordered one today I would receive it in a few days at most.
They never informed me when they received returns, they never called to try and work out a situation before simply refunding my money. Overall I am highly dissatisfied with my experience and would never recommend Altman Luggage to anyone.
