"American Computech delivered exactly what I ordered and in a very timely fashion. Furthermore, I received an Email prior to delivery exlaining the setup procedure specific to my purchase (a whole computer rather than a part). I will definitely do business with them again."
"Again Steve and American CompuTech has provided me with excellent pricing and service"
"Excellent to work with. Order was easy, exactly what I spec'd, great prices. Company responded quickly, shipped the items when I needed them. They arrived in perfect working order. Will definitely order through them again."
"An excellent product at an excellent price. The tablet PC had all features listed on the site and has great craftmanship. I trust the work of this company and would buy from again."
"Was referred to American Computech from a friend and have been completely satisfied. Will refer others. System runs great. Thank you."
"Wasn't real smart then. Ordered system on line. came in reasonable time. On removing from box noticed something banging inside. It was the heatsink fan. When I politly called tech he said "impossible", that I took it off to see the processor they gave me. I wasn't even that advanced at that time. I was shocked and knew I was in trouble. I noticed the imprint the processor made on heat sink(was installed backwards) He told me to put it back on & I did but PC wouldn't run. He reluctantly gave me an RMA#- I got it back & it ran but crashed all the time. Wouldn't even run a 56K modem. Ended up being the bad PSU(not the one that was ordered by the way) It just went POP one day(thankfully) Sent it back & they sent me a 350W instead of the 400w. Smelt burnt(clearly used). He said "It'll work good for you". MBM showed voltages all over the map. Much more trouble! Bottom line: NEVER EVER IN A MILLION YEARS WOULD I EVER WASTE MY TIME WITH THESE TERRORIST TYPES AGAIN. Just call them 1st(I didn't) & you'll see. It did make me learn PCs. Good Luck(you'll need it!) "
"Do not trust any of their sales people's word. Get all agreements in writing. I did not, so I don't know if that will be sufficient if there is a dispute."
"Very pleased with the system purchased and the price. The only thing that would have improved the experience would be better notification and tracking of the order process. The only two indications are "Processing" and "Shipped". If these could be expanded that would be great."
"Online configurator works great. They took my saved quote, emailed me with an improved version for the same money, built it and shipped in less than a week. I am very Happy with American CompuTech."
"Best price (through Froogle). The order was shipped one hour after being placed and arrived within two business days (ground)."
"Great product. This is my 3rd order (under different email) from your company. While the turn-around time is a little slow, its always been worth the wait. I've gotten three full systems without a flaw on the hardware front. I'll be back again in the future."
"American Computech shipped my order quickly, and I received my order on time."
"Great price and on time delivery! I will do business with them again!"
"Sales people do a good job and are nice but tech support is a nightmare. We ordered two completely identical computers and recieved software drivers with one and not the other. Tech support called me a liar and claimed it was not their responsibility to provide the software packages.
One computer was missing the SATA driver diskette supplied by ABIT with their AN7 motherboard (which Chris in tech support claimed was a windows installation problem and told me to call microsoft!), the drivers for the wireless keyboard and mouse, and the installation package (including cables and a registered full version of PowerDVD) that comes with the Lite-On DVD/CD player. The other identical computer included all of it.
Terry in tech support actually told me that some companies can request missing software drivers from the manufacturers but American Computech cannot do that at the prices they charge.
He later changed his story and insisted that none of those items existed, were not present in any other boxes in their warehouse and that I was lying about them coming with one of the two computers!
DDR400 RAM was installed in the wrong slots. On an Abit AN7 board you have to install the RAM in slots 0 and 2 or 1 and 2 in order to get dual scan. The POST test clearly shows whether or not you are in dual scan mode. Neither computer had the RAM installed correctly. The POST test confirmed this.
One computer came with a ground plate completely covering the keyboard port. After it was supposedly tested and burned in. Terry at tech support called me a liar again and I had to email him pictures to prove it to him.
The computer also arrived with four loose screws rattling around inside it.
After two days the computer died and it cost me $28 to ship it back and have the power supply replaced.
I spent over $2000 with this company and i was treated like a piece of dirt. I will never do business with them again.
I STRONGLY recommend that this company be avoided at all costs.
UPDATE: two days later the 2nd power supply blew. "
"very pleased with the customer service..my pc was built and shipped in a timely manner. I'm very well pleased with the overall experience and I am sure i will purchase from this company again and recommend them to any one that should happen top ask. "
