"I ordered two statues from this website and received them very quickly. One of the statues was the last one in stock and they emailed me about the box condition. They explained the slight damage to the box, apologized, and offered me a small refund back off my order for the quality! "
"I subscribed to a magazine through Animebooks.com. Three out of the six issues never arrived. For each one, I waited about two weeks after it’s expected arrival date before emailing the company. Each time they said, “Sorry for the inconvenience” and mailed out the issue. Last time I checked, that’s not how a subscription works. Once, they mailed two issues together over a month late. So far, only two issues have actually arrived on time without me contacting the company. I really wanted to like this company because they have rare magazines you can’t get elsewhere, but it seems that actually shipping out the products their customers buy is not a priority to them. They also don’t seem to prioritize customer satisfaction and have never offered a discount, or even more than a “sorry” on the late issues. Avoid them and go with a better, more reliable company. "
"You found a book, maybe an art book or something for a series you like and you've never heard of Animebooks.com. It's easy to get scammed when buying this stuff. Well I bought around $250 in art books from them and I've gotta say:
They're pretty good. The price was lower than amazon.jp, the shipping was free over a $100 and I got it in less time than advertised even with free shipping. The books were EXTREMELY well packaged. Enough so that I had trouble getting them out but they arrived in pristine condition. In addition they do actually read the comments and leave notes on the invoice in the package if you ask. Finally they have out of print books, yeah they're expensive, but I can't find them anywhere else and they're reputable and in good condition.
All in all, another retailer for some of the rarer anime stuff that you definitely want to keep on your list."
"Very happy with my order! I bought the Gurren Lagann- Childhoods End Groundworks book and it's exactly as advertised, they also took great care to package it properly. I got it shipped to Canada so I guess the only downside was the shipping price but I would order again despite it being fairly expensive. And also the added handwritten comment and recommendation list was a nice touch. I'm a sucker for that sorta stuff, it just shows they care. :)

"I love these guys! I found them at Sakuracon not too long ago, and have been a loyal customer ever since. I buy pretty much all of my art books from them, and they always come fairly quickly. Some of the books are priced really high, but that comes with the territory since there aren't really a ton of people online that even sell Japanese books. They send the merchandise as soon as they have it, and it gets here quite quickly for just being USPS.
I only have a few gripes to mention. 1) They seem to have issues removing items that they will never sell again. Many of the nendoroids they sell are NEVER in stock, and I don't think they'll be getting them any time soon. It would be nice if they simply removed them. My advice is to go to Amazon for that. 2) Some of the book titles say they will not arrive for 4-6 weeks. That's all fine and good, but after six months of it saying that on the site, it should be updated to reflect their current stock levels (unless what they mean is that it will take 4-6 after it is ordered to arrive for said customer, but that isn't made terribly clear).
Other than that, I think they are very nice people. If you leave them a message in the message field upon ordering, they actually read it and will respond to it. Maybe that doesn't fascinate some people, but it amazes the hell out of me since most businesses don't give a crap. I have only received one damaged book from them, which had to have been intentionally pulled that way since there was no damage on the package itself, but I was satisfied that none of the actual art was damaged. I had thought about contacting them for an exchange, but ultimately decided that it wasn't worth it in this case.
They also tend to group orders together without your permission, but that's fine for me. I'd rather have fewer boxes to wait for, personally, so if they are paying enough attention that they see my name twice for two different orders, then I am perfectly ok with them combining everything into one box. I also don't mind that they tend to wait to ship your order until everything is in stock. Again, I personally don't mind, but some people might find that annoying.
Overall, I love animebooks.com, and I strongly recommend them. I have placed several orders with them over the past year, and they have never failed me."
"I'm working on a Comic book so I ordered two sets of 40 sheets of Manga paper from AnimeBooks.com. They sent me a confirmation email, charged my debit card for two sets of 40 sheets plus the shipping for both. When the package came it was only one set of 40 sheets. Also at the bottom of the invoice it was personally signed by someone who checked the package to make sure it was all there. Wow, this person must be an idiot because it clearly says on the invoice there are supposed to be two sets of paper, but the person shipped only one.
DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!
I have since sent them multiple emails to fix this situation offering them to give me my money back or send the paper and I have yet to receive ANY kind of email response back.
DO NOT BUY FROM ANIMEBOOKS.COM THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!"
"Ok so I orderd from the site and all of my items were in stock so I orderd, I got a conformation e-mail and within a day they charged me accordingly. However the day they shipped my order, one of the items has gone out of stock and they change my order without asking me what I would like to do about it. And assumed that what they are sending me is ok to my liking. What they didn't realize is that the item that they are sending me was in impulse buy and the item that went out of stock magically was the item I really wanted. If they would have contacted me like I stated in the order ( I told them if there was any issues to call me and leave a voicemail) I would have said to cancel the order, I've sent them an e-mail about this and hope to get this resolved soon, I'll write another review as soon as I get a response."
