"I placed an order from this company on 1/9/2009. On 1/13/2009 I sent an email asking if the item had been shipped. No Reply. I then sent an email to their listed customer service, returned as mail box full. On 1/16/2009, I filed a complaint with the BBB. Today, 1/27/2009, I received the order, it was postmarked 1/22/2009. It appreas that this company tends to operate on the idea of if no one complains, they don't ship. If you complain they ship or refund. I DO NOT Recommend this company as one to do business with."

I purchased 2 matching iPod armbands from audiooutfitter.com A week later I only received only 1 of the armbands and an email from audiooutfitter.com stating the other armband was out of stock and on back order with the manufacterer.
I called and cancelled the order for the second armband.(and ordered a second armband elsewhere) The customer service rep from audiooutfitter.com that day seemed to have a not-so-friendly attitude that I called to cancel part of an order that they did not even have in stock in the first place.
A week later I recieved an email from audiooutfitter.com that they had shipped the second armband out. I called customer service that same day and told them that I had called a week earlier to cancel. They informed me they had no record of my call.(my phone bill states I did call) I have a strong feeling that my cancellation a week earlier was ignored on purpose. I was told if I wanted the credit back on my card for the second armband that I would have to "refuse delivery".
I did "refuse delivery" and a week after that I called up audiooutfitter.com to check when they would credit the money back to my card.
I was told I was going to have to pay for shipping and get charged a 20% restocking fee for the second armband. Why should I have to pay for shipping for an item that I cancelled before they shipped? Why should I have to pay a 20% restocking fee for an item that I cancelled before they sent...when it wasn't even "in stock"? The customer service rep became rude and very condescending when I explained the whole situation to her and she informed me that I would have to pay for the shipping and restocking fee. After a heated debate I decided to give up and let audiooutfitter.com win the pathetic little game they were playing with me. The customer service rep then informed me a credit to my card could take "up to a week" to go through.
OVER 2 weeks later I still had not received any credit to my card so I filled out a dispute form with my credit card and faxed it in Yesterday. Today I recieved the credit for the second armband AND the shipping.(and without being charged audiooutfitter.com's 20% restocking fee for a product that they didn't even have in stock to begin with when I cancelled)
So I guess I won audiooutfitter.com's pathetic little game....but still it wasn't worth it.
audiooutfitter.com is not worth:
- Your wasted hours of time.
- Having their customer service treat you like dirt for issues that are their fault to begin with.
- The pathetic games they could potentially play with you....because they don't even have the item that you ordered in stock in the first place!
Do yourself a favor...order ELSEWHERE!"

I should have read reviews here first. They claim items ship in 1-2 days, I have been waiting since the 8th and the expected ship date is end of January, add another 3-5 days for shipping to that.
Emily in customer service is atrocious in handling calls and they never reply to emails. I have a garage full of gear waiting on Metra wiring harness and radio install kit that showed in stock and ready to ship. Should have just gone with ebay or ANY other online and even local store.
I tried to cancel my order only to find out my harness shipped (no update on status of course) and they'd cancel my kit but that meant I paid $9 shipping on a 77cent item (on ebay). Then I'd have to order that kit elsewhere and pay another 6-9 on shipping elsewhere. Nice huh?"
"I ordered from their sister store front Outfitter Clearance. Had zero issues with the order beyond them not having accurate inventory, which wasnt a big deal for my order. I received quick responses to email and automated order status updates and they were awesome in that they willing to modify and add to my order.
My order shipped monday and thanks the FedEx Ground, it was at my front door the next day :)"
"I called their customer service # on Monday to make sure my order would be sent out the next day and was assured it would be mailed out at noon on Tues. I purposedly order from Audio Outfitters b/c I wanted to receive my item by the end of the week and b/c they were located in Utah and my shipping address is in SF it would be fairly close. They have a box to fill out on the ordering page to give an explanation if your billing and shipping addresses are different which I explained my shipping address was at work. 3 days later I got an email asking me to verify my shipping address again... I thought that was what the box on the ordering page was for! Now it's Thurs and there's no way I'm getting my item until next week. And when I called to complain and ask for the item to be overnight shipped to me they refused stating that the cost would be too much for them... why should I have to pay with my time when it's their inefficient process that caused the delay?!? At the very least they should state on their website that having different billing and shipping addresses will cause multiple days delay in sending out orders. If they wanted to keep my business and not have had another bad review on this site, they should have paid for my overnight shipping!"
"Audio Outfitters... They only offer a 30-day window for returns...like 30-days from when they ship. After i got my stereo i had to make an appointment for installation, which took time. Then the stereo doesn't power-on half the time, or it stays on and you can't shut it off. Had to schedule another appointment with installer to check wiring. The installer says the deck is faulty. Guess what. By now my 30 days is over, and even if it weren't, they want EVERY scrap of packaging, every screw that came in it returned for an exchange, and I have to pay shipping both ways! Not!
So this is like gambling. i'm sure it's fine when you win, but if something goes wrong, you're hosed. ***Stay away from Audio Outfitters! *** Go with Crutchfield instead. They'll give you adapters and mounting hardware, and even instructions for your specific vehicle for free. Plus shipping is free, even all the way to Alaska.

"I ordered what was advertised to be a DIN-style radio bezel, designed to fit a 1970 Mustang from these people, but what I got instead was a STANDARD radio bezel that someone had sawed the center section out of.
I contacted the company to explain that it was a piece of crap, and that I wasn't going to pay $85 + shipping for a $20 STANDARD radio bezel that someone had cut the center out of; they requested I send them pictures, which I did--I took several, and even added a copy of the one on THEIR website, as well as a photo of a bezel from one of their competitors.
They then told me that I could send the bezel back for a refund, but that it would be subject to a 20% "restocking fee"; first off--this part was NEVER stocked, it was DROP SHIPPED by the "Manufacturer", Ken Harrison Enterprises, Inc.
Secondly, I will NOT pay for such a sub-standard piece of crap, REGARDLESS of the amount--not 100%, not 20%, not ZERO percent! I did, however advise them that I would be happy to work with them so they could obtain their 20% "restocking fee" from the people responsible for the piece of crap I received, but they refused my assistance.
I had to DISPUTE the item with my credit card in order to get my money back.

Also, my order status on their website didn't change from "Pending" to "Shipped" until the day AFTER I'd received it! E) Morning of scheduled delivery, received email indicating that order had been cancelled (not backordered) and cost would be credited back to card
F) Complained to "Customer Service", spoke to a "manager" who promised to "talk to my warehouses and find out what went wrong", and give me a phone call or email to indicate how problem was remedied
G) After over a week, no call or email, called "Customer Service" back to speak to manager, manager "unavailable"
H) I see other "Dissatisfied" ratings for this seller, my main mistake was not researching this seller before placing order"
