I once, accidentally marked something I didn’t want and read it incorrectly and Avalon Gadgets fixed it and repaid me the money even though it was my fault! "Ordered Canon digital camera. Avalon telephoned to say there was a problem with the billing/shipping address. I corrected this "error" and was then informed that there was not a memory card included with this camera. If ordered right now for 39.99 I would receive a $10 discount on the sale. I agreed on the phone to this change and call finished. Billed my card and emailed me to say $415 charged to my account. Total was much more than it should be. Emailed back and got snotty reply about no cancellations, tax this, shipping that. Still did not add up. Called them back on phone. Really crappy attitude from them, they bumped me up on the price of memory card, tax, shipping. They would not change or cancel. All of this was within the span of an hour. Research shows that camera does indeed come with a memory card and the purchase was not necessary. So they flat lied to me.
I have contacted my bank and card carrier and have filed the dispute. In the mean time charges have posted to my account and I must wait for the investigation to be completed. "
"Do Not Deal With These Chiselers!! I ordered a Canon Powershot digital camera and received an e-mail from AvalonGadgets asking if I wanted to also purchase a memory card. Huh?? Every other vendor on the 'Net *included* the memory card with the camera. After finally actually getting a live person on the phone I was told that the letters 'OEM' in the product description meant I had to buy the memory card separately. When I tried to cancel the order I was told "No Orders Can Be Cancelled!" The reason for *this* policy is obvious, isn't it? I was assured that the camera was New and in original packaging (see below). I already had a memory card on hand so I refused to order the card from them. When I received the camera the memory card was *listed* RIGHT ON THE FACTORY BOX as being part of the kit. When I called AvalonGadgets back to question this fact I got yet another line of crap. In addition they charged me 5% Mass sales tax. When I complained about this they insisted they had a 'retail presence' in Massachusetts, but refused to tell me what it was!!
My advice: BUY ELSEWHERE! What little price advantage AvalonGadgets might offer is not worth the chisel job they will try to pull on you."

Later I found I could buy 62mp card from Olympus for much less. After finally finding out their phone # ***-***-**** (my Emails went unanswered), I was told they wouldn'd except my unopened return for a refund. "I ordered a Fuji S3000 Digital Camera(I own 3 of these now) from this company on Dec1/04. At that time there website showed 3 in stock and continued to show stock at all times. However as soon as I ordered it and they accepted the order I was sent an order confirmation and my order was put on back order.
I requested that the order be cancelled as this was to be a Christmas gift. I was then informed of the no cancellation, no refund policy.Numerous requests were made for an estimated shipping date with a response of, "I told you the item is on backorder". This company with its strict no cancellation policies should not be accepting orders that it knowingly cannot fill.Furthermore the NEW camera came in a different box than the original and was missing several pieces.After complaining about this I am told that New OEM means it does not come complete.I urge anyone considering doing business with Avalon Gadgets to check them out on Google first. There are to many honest companies out there, and no need too use this crooked outfit. I finally got my camera January 13/05, over 6 weeks after I ordered it.They also charged me $10.00 more for shipping than I was told. For what I don't know but I'm fed up and going to write this off as a lesson on buying over the internet. I also have a very hard time believing the good reviews that they get. I think they should be investigated for submitting there own reviews."

"I ordered the camera at the lowest price I found anywhere and for about 3 days after they had called me to tell me it was shipping that day, UPS had only the tracking number in the system. When I sent them an e-mail inquiring as to the status of the camera, and they replied with "Relax!! Stop E-mail us!! You'll get it soon!!" Clearly not so polite. I got the camera, OEM as expected but they never said it doesn't come with the 3 MB CF card which is annoying. When I e-mailed them they claimed they called to tell me this. They didn't. Great price but they charged $23 for shipping from almost next door and wouldn't budge on it. They're reminiscent of an e-bay seller who makes money off shipping! I would rather pay a little more than deal with them again! DON'T BUY FROM THEM, I got the charge on my credit card and it was $40 more than they said because there's one line somewhere that says something like tax could be added afterwards but they never told me they actually would be charging tax because they have a location in New York. When I asked they said there was a line in the confirmation saying they might apply tax but they never told me they'd be doing it. I'm not happy!"
