"I ordered a clock from Avalonics on Sunday August 13th and I received a confirmation email from them on the 14th. Their order status system shows my order status changed from pending to processing on August 15th.
Since then I can't get them to acknowledge ANY request for help about my order. They do NOT have an email address posted on their website, only a 'contact us' page with a form for requesting help. I've used this form twice over the last week and no one has contacted me.
After getting no response from their online help form I called their phone number. NONE of the telephone options they give you when you call are for help with a current order. If you select technical or other assistance they just refer you back to the website and their 'contact us' page. I left a message with their operator to call me but no one from Avalonics has bothered to do that in nearly a week.
I really am stumped about what to do. I would like to cancel my order but there is no option to do that either using their web form or their support phone since the operators that answer the phone don't seem to work for Avalonics but just take messages (which never get returned).
I have bought tens of thousands of dollars in merchandise from etailers over the past 10 years but I don't think I've had such a weird and frustrating experience as this before.
You have been warned. Any frustration suffered after reading this and still ordering from these goofballs is entirely on you. ;-)
[Additional information added 8/29/06] Yesterday, 8/28 I received an email from Avalonics that my package had shipped and today it arrived. Big surprise--they shipped me the wrong clock, and not only that it is a cheaper clock by the same manufacturer, Skyscan, than the one I ordered.
My total order, with shipping, was only around $40 so I won't go to the trouble of returning it, but it does add insult to injury. Buyer beware."
