"I placed an order before christmas 2019. I sent them 2 emails and placed many calls to follow up on my order. After weeks of attempting to reach them, they finally answered my call on Jan2020. My order arrived late Jan but the guitar was broken. I then had to try again reaching them with constant emails and calls. Finally, April 2020, 4 months later I recieved my guitar. Never again"
"Order was not made as per my request, received defective instruments, communication was late and not precise, no place for RMA on company's site."
"Axe on line, is bad, ..real bad if not fraudulent. I ordered on may 14 special order that said allow 3 weeks for delivery. All I received was an email form Pay Pal telling me that my money was paid to Axe. After 6 working days went by, I still had no order confirmation from axe so I phone them and they said that they would immediately send one, and they still sent me nothing!!! Today , June 8th, three weeks after ordering, they send me a confirmation dated May 14 with the sent on May 14. Along with this was a statement telling me that they could not get the item. They lied to me and they did not even process the order till just a couple of days ago. They asked me if I wanted to cancel to order for a full refund. How long will this take??? Now I have to open a dispute with Pay Pal. Axe online is a dead website. Pay Pal gave Axe my money, and Axe gave me nothing!! 3 weeks later they tell me that they do not have and cannot get the item.Well why did the advertise it then?? They never said that it was out of stock, in the first place."
"I bought a set of Alesis DM7X digital drums from Axe.
This was my first purchase from their website. I bought from Axe because they had the best price in Canada.
I am located in Ontario and the shipping was fast.
Customer service was also great, they were fast and helpful with a warranty issue. Axe music 'scustomer support staff helped me contact the manufacturer and I was very happy with the outcome.
I was impressed with the level of service from both Axe and Alesis. I have since made another purchase from Axe, and would order from them again in future.
A+. I would recommend to friends!"
"I live in a remote area(Fort McMurray). We don't have a lots of store here. Got 10 pedals with accessories from axe music. Returned 4 in next week. Seller said he will only give me store credit!
Got a practice amp with the credit. went to wrong address and other item came to me next day. Had to ship the wrong item back to the store. Cost was covered but still hasn't seen my amp yet. Its just over a week now. God knows when I will receive this.
Long and McQuade is way better. Never for Axe Music ever again."
"I ordered a Orange Thunder 30 2-Channel 30-Watt All-Tube Guitar Amplifier Combo with 1 x 12-inch Celestion Speaker which is out of stock. On their website, it says "Most orders arrive from our suppliers within 5-10 working days." which lead me to order from them. It's been a month now, and no amp. If I knew it would take me 0.38% of my current life waiting for this order, I would have bought the amp elsewhere.
EDIT: The amp finally arrived... and the Dirty channel wasn't working (hopefully just a broken tube). Ontop of that, the amp was supposed to come with a free jacket, which I didn't even receive. Either way, not impressed at all. Once this problem gets resolved, I will not buy here again unfortunately."
"I've purchased quite a bit of music gear from Axe Music in the past, probably $3000 worth, and my experiences have been very mixed. For the purpose of this review, I'll stick to this specific order and not get into all the other problems I've had with them.
This order was for an MXR Kerry King 10 Band EQ guitar pedal, which was in stock and ordered on April 12. Five days later, it still hadn't arrived (I live only 200 miles from their stores and warehouse, anything shipped arrives the next day), and they wouldn't respond to my e-mail. I finally called, and the guy on the phone confirmed it was still sitting there, and told me "We ship up to 500 items a week, we're very busy. It may ship out tomorrow. You're pretty far down the queue though. It may not." In the time he spent on the phone with me, it could have been put in a box and sent out. I don't know if they only have one guy running their entire warehouse or what, but it took them seven days to put it in the mail. To me, that's unacceptable on an in-stock item. They also gave me no updates throughout the process and ignored my e-mail.
This is extremely sub-par processing and customer service. In addition to all the other problems I've had with them in the past (they once forgot to ship an order out at all and I had to call to remind them), I'm planning to direct my business toward Long and Mcquade, Tom Lee Music, L.A. Music, or any other Canadian retailers I can find if possible."
"Their website is fairly well organized, not the best, not the worst either. They don't update the order status very often, so I didn't know what was going on with my order. I phoned their 800 number and spoke to Scott who was very helpful and apologized for the delay. He verified that my order was "in the system" and it should be picked and shipped that day (it was).
They have free Purolator ground shipping within Canada for orders over $199 (no shipping to the USA though). The prices seem to be pretty good in comparison to Musician's Friend (and you only pay GST, no PST). I'd also like to see an approximate arrival time for my order, which doesn't seem to be provided anywhere.
Based on their prices I might order from them again, although I'll wait and see how long it takes for my order to get from Edmonton to the GTA.
I'd also like to see more selection of items on their website. I don't know if they carry more in their B&M stores, but I'm not shopping in their store, I'm shopping online.
In the meantime, I'll wait patiently for my order to arrive."
