"I'm not too happy with my purchase from Axion. Although they did send email updates and send the items fairly promptly, one item that I received was not as advertised. I ordered some 512MB sticks of Samsung PC2700 memory and called them to make sure that it was indeed Samsung chips on Samsung PCB (All Samsung.) The salesperson said that it was so I placed the order online with some other items. After receiving my order, I realized that the memory was not Samsung on Samsung, but instead made by another lesser-known manufacturer using Samsung chips. This is a big problem with some people in other discussion forums because 1) The all-Samsung modules perform better 2) Many companies misrepresent the item since the unknown brands are cheaper, yet true Samsung command a higher premium. Therefore I received something that I did not order. I called RMA and was told that I was never given confirmation that it was all Samsung but under these "special" circumstances, I could return the item with a 19% restocking fee. After some discussion, it was lowered to 10% to "satisfy" the customer. Why should I pay for a restocking fee when they sent an item that was misrepresented? The other option was to return it in exchange for something else, but I had already purchased everything I needed from them (motherboard, processor.) So, I'm forced to file a claim with AMEX. Luckily, AMEX's track record tends to favor the consumer and I should be getting a full refund on the items. Would I shop there again? No, becuase I'm afraid I'll order a Sony monitor and received a Fung-shu-mu monitor with Sony capacitors or something and be charged 10% restocking on the return.
Regarding the ongoing comments about the motherboard replacement, I received my motherboard and can't seem to find a sticker/printing on the motherboard that matches the serial number on the box. Maybe I overlooked it, but I tend to believe that the customer below received an improperly boxed MB therefore not matching Axion's records. I just hope mine doesn't have a problem."
"Raymond, you still act as though I returned a board which I did not buy from Axion which is a total fabrication on your part. I sent you the exact same board that you sent me, damaged and all and everything included that came with it, yet the replacement was missing parts. As a consumer I apparently am to blame for an Axion screw up. I have no recourse with Axion other than to be accused of sending you a board that Axion could not keep up with a simple serial number and apparently shipped out right damaged. You guys really need to rethink how you handle customers. Yes you replaced my board, but not to appease me for a board you claimed wasn't sent to me. The point is, you accuse me of doing something that is totally not true. If it where I would not be wasting my time on this site. I also have proof you sent me a board, if Axion cannot get the serial number right then where does that leave the customer? You act as though you did me a favor, which is baffling. "
"This is Raymond; I am an employee of Axion Technologies;
Ply,
We received your board on 1/23/02; the serial number DID NOT match ANY on our database, which indicates that the board you returned to us, was not purchased from Axion. However, in an effort to satisfy you, We did ship a replacement the next day after we received your RMA package. The tracking number is proof. You did not return all accessories with your returned board either. Yet in my effort to expedite a resolution for you I replaced the board anyway.
Your RMA#20020100W0 was received by Axion on 1/23/02 and as indicated above replaced under T#2002010BDN-01/24/02 with a UPS tracking number 1ZX6619W1252686999. All motherboards are pulled by their serial numbers, and shipped according to SN's assigned to a customers order. this enables Axion to reference exactly by whom, and when the product was purchased and shipped. The discrepancy in SN was overlooked in an effort to provide you with a replacement, and to satisfy you-apparently to no avail. Yes you did call, and I spoke with you at length as you initially indicated the board was damaged in shipping to you when you contacted phone support(you spoke with our tech-Cuong). You later indicated the shipping package was not damaged, just the board. Indeed, highly unusual for a brand new Motherboard, as well as one we have no record of ever purchasing for stock.
My post is to provide ALL details regarding your RMA. I made arrangements to provide you with a solution for the issues you encountered. Your RMA was handled in less that our normal turn around time of 5 bus days. The replacement Soyo motherboard was shipped as received by Soyo after we had tested it to make certain it was free of manufacturer defects, which was also indicated on your replacement transaction invoice by the "Test before ship". Any “free” card from the manufacturer has nothing to do with Axion, as that was an offer by Soyo to their end users. We do not receive those from Soyo, they are shipped to their End users, in what ever manner they deem appropriate.
We are sorry to hear you felt you were treated unfairly. Axion provided you with a new working product despite the rather irregular issues involved with your RMA as the above RMA/Transaction and tracking numbers clearly indicate..

I would like address TheHig’s post:

I can assure all customers, that we make every effort possible to make a customers experience with us a good one. Mistakes are possible, and if brought to our attention we will rectify them.
there is another post i feel i need to address as well.
I would like address plyj30375 post:
After reviewing your RMA, it is understandable that your post would reflect your frustration. I would like post the conclusion to your RMA, to provide the complete story.
There was a miscommunication regarding the “damage” you indicated the motherboard had sustained. We did however issue you a RMA# and would need to have the board back to determine the best way to proceed. When we received the motherboard, the board was in fact broken. More importantly was the fact the serial number on the board we received did not match the boards serial number issued, and shipped to you. I checked it against our stock as well as history of inventory. I then spoke with you on the phone, and informed you I was working on your RMA, making every effort to find an amicable solution for you. Ultimately you were shipped a brand new and tested Soyo board (UPS tracking# 1ZX6619W1252686999). We received your board on the 23rd, and a replacement was shipped to you the next day-24th. I am sorry there was any problem with your purchase. Axion did however provide a replacement, and did our best to see you were satisfied.

"On a Friday afternoon, I called Axion in an emergency situation for 2 memory modules. They are halfway across the country, but exactly 17 hours after my call, I was holding the merchandise. My salesman even called me back an hour after my initial call to give me a tracking # and confirm that it had shipped. A+ on customer service."
"A collegue recommended Axion to me. I made a modest purchase, and was treated well, and fairly. my order arrived on time, and i received tracking information to allow me to schedule time to accept delivery. I will keep Axion on my prefered vendors list. "
"ok, i am writing this from Axions RMA counter- i bought the wrong CPU, and need a compatible Intel for my board. I am now waiting on the exchange, even tho it is not the policy to do so. Axion allowed me to exchange. i can say i am glad i live near them. and they worked with me on this one. CPU is here- thanks james/ray

"Great place to buy from"
"Wrote the following on Mar 15, 2002
when I made an online purchase ...
===================================
AxionTech is an outstanding online
vendor; decent prices, reasonable
shipping charges, and they quickly
provide order acknowledgements and
shipping details to their customer.
===================================
Revised as follows Mar 26, 2002
AFTER my order was delivered...
===================================
An Optical mouse I purchased from
AxionTech was advertised as USB/PS2
but when it was delivered it was a
PS/2 only. An eMail was composed and sent to sales@axiontech on Thu
3/21/02 asking as to a return or
replacement - it is now Tue night
3/26/02, and AxionTech has yet to
even respond to my eMail, much less
trying to resolve the discrepancy.
==================================
Conclusion: AxionTech, which used
to be solid as a rock, no longer
seems to care, and have turned to
a bunch of little pebbles. I'll
never buy from them again!!! I was
WRONG about AxionTech being good."
"High prices and very poor customer support. They shipped items that I did not order then tried to stiff me for the return shipping. RMA manager is extremely rude. I would avoid this company there are better ones out there with better prices."
"Simply stated a 5 star company!"
"Great, fast shipping. The only complaint is the slow response from the sales staff. This is something I can live with. Overall good service!!"
"Very good company. Ordered a 256 DDD333 RAM stick and EPOX KT333 board. Ordered on 3/13, the board was backorded but they sent the RAM. I ordered 3 day select and got the RAM the next day. Boy that was fast. Live in Austin,TX so with deliveries that fast, don't mind paying the sales tax. My board
became available 3/19, and I'm getting it on 3/20. Fast again. They kept up with the emails and sent the tracking numbers. I think they are on the ball. I reccomend them especially if you live around the Austin area. God knows I can't find competitive prices here."
"I ordered the Sony Cyber Shot pack with the recharable battery and the AC out. Along with the Case. Anyways...im just waiting for it to get here and i will post once it does to see how well my order was handled. But by reading all these reviews its a good company."
"I am very impressed with this company so far. I ordered from 3 different computer companies on the 12th. Axion was only one sent me a confirmation that the order was received right away. I will try to keep it short. Impressed with shipping cost. 2 mid-towers and 4 motherboards. Came in 3 boxes in 3 days for the price of $37.44 very pleased with This company thus far. Have yet to install everything to make sure it works due to other 2 companies tracking says it will be here on 19th."
