"The order came much faster than I expected. USPS had it in my mailbox in 4 days. Unfortunately the PSTAD SATA to PATA IDE Drive Converter Adapter came without directions of any kind and apparently won't work in my older computer. Also, there is no identifying name or number on the part to search for info on the net. Fortunately it was cheap because it's not worth the trouble to return it for the minuscule refund. I probably should have gone to a site with more info in the first place and bought a better part. I will do that from now on.

When I read AyaGroup’s reply (below) I wondered how I possibly missed so much information so I returned to the item detail page. I beg to differ. Bulk/OEM (with or w/o link) doesn’t appear anywhere on the page. As for generic, it is listed as such but says nothing more. What it says is: “convert any SATA drive to Standard IDE connector”. When installed w or w/o OE HDD, no drives are detected. It lights up real purty but that’s it. I have no way of knowing if it’s yet another setting I have missed or if it’s defective. As I said, fortunately it was cheap.

Ali w/ AyaGroup.com emailed me that the Bulk/OEM link had indeed been left off the page and that he suspected that the part might be defective. He is graciously sending me another free of charge. This has made my month and I will absolutely return to AyaGroup.com for other equipment needs. It is exceedingly hard to find e-stores that will go out of their way to make things right.
