"They "sell" shoes that they don't even have. I placed an order on Nov 17, 2022. When placing the order, the website showed that the shoes would ship 11/19/22. On 12/5/22, I called the company because when I checked the website for the order number, it showed that the shoes would ship 12/5/22. Once I received an individual, they advised oh the shoes ordered were in fact on backorder and they didn't know when or even if the shoes would ship. They offered no reason as to why they sold a product that they didn't even have, other than that is just the way that they do it and they don't find it necessary to inform the consumer that the product is in fact backordered and they may never receive the item."
"I’ve bought a number of pairs of shoes from them over the years... They were consistently of good value and durable for the price paid. Not so any longer based on my last pair bought only a few months ago... First impression upon opening... Stiff, very stiff... Fit ok but felt like they were made of sheet metal, not leather... I only needed them for infrequent site visits requiring steel toes... Minimal 3-4 wearing I noticed the side stitching frayed and giving away... I photographed the issue be sure to capture the like new soles to show the hardly worn condition... The response was “We’re sorry, nothing can be done as the shoes only had a 90 day warranty”... “The photos show only normal expected wear and tear”... Upon a second follow up call, I was told it’s only a 60 day warranty... Apparently my closet is really hard on shoes as they “show wear and tear” from simply being in the close! I looked out of curiosity at a pair of the same model I have bought at least two decades ago only to find the stitching on those far better than the 90 day plus pair purchased only a few months ago... I’m done... The local shoe maker has them now... Even Neatsfoot oil has done little by way of softening them... Anyway, lesson learned- No more from Mason."
"I have been buying shoes from Man's for over 30 yrs. The last order was for a pair of Work America Romeos. 14 4E is what I have always ordered. This pair was labeled as such but would not even go on my foot. I returned them using the return label provided. That was 15 Feb 2020. I heard nothing from them. No email, phone call, nothing. Today I called. They told me I was beyond the return date allowed. That was not on the return paper I had. I requested a pair that would fit or a pair of another style they carry. Today I was told that the pair I sent back was being returned to me as of yesterday. No refund. No exchange, nothing. No. I would not recommend B A Mason to anyone. When the company bore the name and image of Vic Mason, all was well. As B A Mason, look at the previous reviews and choose for yourself.

"I twice attempted to purchase a pair of shoes from B.A.Mason, first through their Amazon portal dba ShoeMall, then directly via their B.A.Mason website. Each time was I sent the wrong item. After the first sale I sought to replace the wrong shoes with the correct ones, but a remarkably unpleasant customer service woman---she actually hung up on me, and I was only reacting to her hostility---made any further business untenable. Thinking that I might fare better if I dealt with B.A.Mason directly and not their online ShoeMall, I repeated my order on Mason's website. And still they sent the wrong item! I can recognize 'coincidence', and i doubt this was it. My earlier experience and subsequent criticism (polite) was rewarded, it would seem, with an act of spite. Making matters worse, an email of complaint following the second botched shipment garnered me no apology whatsoever---just a blunt statement to "send the item back within 120 days." Nice."
"This was the worst service and the worst company I ever did business with. They back order and back order and back orders the shoes. Only updated me once. By a Miracle the item was shipped the exact same day I called to cancel. I have worn a D with my entire adult life. The shoes sent may have said D but did not even come close to fitting. I followed the instructions and sent them back along with the Fee required. Then charge another 14 plus dollars for Shipping. I paid over 24 dollars for NOTHING. When questioned they stated that the requirement was in their catalog. I order on line. Did not matter to them. Unless you want to just throw away money STAY AWAY FROM THIS CON COMPANY."
"Because I have unbelievably wide feet, I ordered a pair of shoes from Mason several years ago and have been very pleased with them. In November I ordered two more pair, neither of which fit. I returned them using the enclosed mailing label. HOWEVER, I paid $19.99 for shipping and handling to me, PLUS $7.95 for use of the return label. $27.94 is about 100% too much to pay for the opportunity to try on two pair of shoes! I will not order from them again...."
"I ordered a pair of Skechers, within 2 weeks the sole was coming apart.I called and exchanged those for another pair. Again the sole came apart. I called and exchanged those for a pair of New Balance. Within a week they were falling apart.I have decided to buy a pair of shoes locally and send everything back for a full refund,hopefully.Mason's says they pay for return shipping,they send a slip to return,but then charge shipping on your bill.They also charge for every pair of shoes, so an original bill of $71.00 is now $150.00 after 2 payments and 2 pair of returned shoes.If it looks to good to be true, it is. Learnd my lesson. Hope this saves you from the same hassle."
"I too fall into the dissatisfied customer list. Been with this company for years buying my work boots. Noticed in the last 3-4 years quallity has gone down hill. I work road construction and walk many miles a day. Normal boots need replaced 3-4 months but these used to go longer. I have 2 pair so I'm not without. I wore boots 6 months to make sure soles were wore down so there would be no arugument on wore out product. Now I buy boots that the soles are GARANTEED to out live the uppers. WRONG just got off the phone with rude customer service. I must be doing something extreme and they will not replace my boots. BEWARE GARANTEE means nothing here folks. I will never buy again, nor reccommend to any one. They think no one will sue over a pair of boots. Written right in their cattalog Soles Garrenteed to out live leather uppers. "Terrible customer service. Rule number one, do not argue with a customer, make things right and you will keep them. Their catalog is extremely confusing. After three returns and paying for shipping each time, I still have no work boots and have spent enough on shipping. The product is great if you can actually get what you want. "
"I ordered some boots from Mason Easy Pay (same company, Mason Companies, Inc.). I specified 2 day shipping and was charged $16.95 for it. 2 business days later the status changed from checking credit to "shipping in process". The item wasn't shipped for another 6 days after that. I told them I wanted a refund for the express shipping and they said no, they had to do a credit check first. This was after I explained to them that the credit check status changed to shipping a week earlier. They repeated this twice. Supposedly they're sending me a shipping label to return the boots (they actually decided to lose the sale entirely instead of admitting their mistake and refunding the $16.95 lol). This whole thing was handled by them like morons and I'd hate to imagine how they handle their credit accounts if they can't even ship something properly. "I purchase 2 pairs of shoes from this store, I notice that I did not received a confirmation email so I contacted them a few hour later via telephone the CS service agent told me 1 of the item was not instock so I told her to cancell my order, she said it could not be cancelled because it was in the box and will be shipped out the following day I ask to speak with there supervisor because I dont need just one item. The supervisor said she would cancel my order a few day later I saw were my account was debited for the cancelled item I call to find out why they had charged my account when I cancelled the order, the cs said the item was already shipped which was a lie since I was told on the day of the purchase that it was still there I got really mad and called my bank and have them chargeback the amount that was charge to my account when the shoes arrived a week later I had the PO RETURN TO SENDER I would not recommend anyone to shop with them."
