"Purchased a USB adapter for an ASUS MB. Baber claimed it was compatible with these MB's. It turned out that pins 1 & 4 were reversed on the molded USB ports that connect to the L bracket that mounts on the rear of the case. Pins 1 & 4 are the B+ & ground connections. When I booted the computer with a USB mouse attached, it lunched the CPU. Baber basically told me to take a hike when I complained. See below

I called this morning and explained the situation to a sales person. He also "spoke with the owner" about it. Basically, I was told, "tough luck" and that Baber would not do anything about it.
Well, first off, you are selling defective products. The adapter in question is not wired to USB standards. That is probably why you got a bunch of them from Taiwan, as I was told, for a cheap price. They are rejects because the wires that go to pins 1 and 4 of the molded USB ports are reversed. I was offered another adapter but if they are all like this then why bother? I reversed the leads on the MB connector and it works fine now. Except the fact that I am out one PIII 550 CPU.
Second, you are a bunch of cowardly twerps who will not even admit to, nor take responsibility for, your mistakes. The Internet is a big place and news travels fast about rip-offs like Baber. I see nothing on your site that mentions that the products you are selling may be defective and that the buyer is taking them on an "as is" basis. I doubt that you would sell much of anything if you were to take that approach and your customers knew that that they would be left holding the bag if your products damaged their systems.

My wife ordered a USB adapter from you just recently. See order #42483A. She has an ASUS P2-99B motherboard. When we attempted to install the adapter and connect a USB device, the CPU in her computer was ruined upon boot-up.. Here was what I was able to discern from the aftermath...
This is what she ordered.
7 inch cable
Style 1 (10 pin 5x2 connection)
2 USB ports mounted on standard expansion bracket.
Click here for image of pin configuration.
Two USB connectors mounted on one L expansion bracket. Typically motherboard manuals will have an exact pin-out of USB header, e-mail us with the pin-out and we can customize this cable for you.
Compatible with Asus Baby AT motherboards w/ USB
Compatible with FIC VA-503+ and VA-503A
Compatible with Commate S7AX
Works with many other boards as well
1 + 5 Volts (Red)
2 - Data (White)
3 + Data (Green)
4 Ground (Internal Pin)
5 Ground (Exteral)
The problem with your adapter is that the red VCC wires on the cables are connected to pin 4 on the ports, which is supposed to be ground pin, and the black ground wires are connected to pin 1 which is supposed to be VCC. The correct pinouts for a standard type A USB port are listed below. In other words the color coding for pins 1 & 4 of the cables on your hardware is backwards and thus so were the connections on the plug that goes to the motherboard. Starting up the computer with the power & ground reversed like this, along with a USB Mouse plugged into one of the ports, blew out the CPU on my wife's computer. I would hope that you will be willing to make good on this blatant error in the wiring of your product. Ken Wooley

"Bought a SCSI converter, came in no time. good job."
"i just purchased a 32mb memory module for my hp plotter. hp wanted $300 and baber wanted $54. i thought a deal this good was a death sentence. i have been using resellerratings for awhile and have been rewarded with many sucessful online purchases. from reading reviews i have learned to stay away from places stationed in brooklyn new york and companies with middle eastern accent sellers. when ordering from baber i decided to call because the site was a little confusing as to which one i wanted. the salesman was very helpful and actually spent a little over 15 minutes on the phone with me to make sure i was getting the correct one. he checked several sources to make sure. some places just take the part number, charge you and ship. baber actually took the time to make sure i was getting what i needed. it shipped from the manufacturer the next day and i received it on time. i had to call to get a tracking number, but it wasn't a hassle. i would reccommend baber and will call on them again."
