"If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with. We ordered a tree over Black Friday after finally taking my husband into getting a fake tree. We received the tree a week later and it was broken. I called customer service and they could care less. They said they couldn’t just send me a new section of the tree that was broken, but had to send a completely new tree. Fine, however they told me it wouldn’t arrive for another week. What!! Are you kidding me. If you actually care about your company you would have expedited the shipping. Instead every customer service rep had an attitude and refused to even look into expediting the shipping. Well, a week has come and gone and STILL no tree. It hasn’t even shipped yet. The one guy I spoke with assured me it would arrive this past Friday... hmmmm. It is now December 15th and we have no tree. I will never order another thing from this company and definitely will tell anyone thinking of purchasing a tree from them to look elsewhere. I will most likely end up cancelling my order. "
"What a nightmare! Called customer service to figure out why our tree was only 1/3 lit. Obviously it needs bulbs to be replaced. We replaced 100’s last year. It took days, but we persevered because, we’ll, it’s a $2,000 tree. It was determined that the large bulb nearest the outlet have gone bad and they’re out of stock. They can’t take an order because they’re out of stock—what? They would sell me a new string of lights, meaning hours of removing the existing and replacing. Gosh, it would have been so much cheaper to just buy a new Costco tree every couple of years. Please save yourself the aggravation and don’t spend your money at Balsam. They are a joke!"
"I purchased 9 Balsam Hill trees with clear lights back in October 2013, mostly 7 and 9 ft. Sonoma Slim Pencil Trees and a 9' Noble. Beginning with the first year of purchase and every year thereafter, there have been issues with the lights. Whole sections of the trees lights fail to light and none of the troubleshooting tips provided by Balsam Hill will remedy the problem. Each year I cannibalize trees and interchange sections in an attempt to put together fully lit trees. The reliability and functionality of the lights are a SERIOUS AND PREDICTABLE ISSUE. By comparison to the malfunctioning Balsam Hill products, I have strands miniature lights from 25+ years ago and they work reliably to this day, unlike the faulty strings of Balsam Hill lights.
In short, I spent over $2000 for prelit trees, many of which are basically worthless. I could not recommend products sold by this company. "

"The website claims they ship the same day if you order before noon. After my purchase they sent an email saying it had shipped. When it failed to arrive in a timely manner I contacted them. They falsely claimed it was on its way. On the sixth day after order, it FINALLY made it to FedEx. They don’t stand behind shipping claims so BEWARE your item could take a very, very long time AND they send false emails. "
"We purchased the 7.5 Colorado Mountain Spruce Flip tree, with LED Color + Clear lights. The tree is absolutely beautiful, and the lights are amazing. The authentic realism of the tree is surprising, it even includes color variations along the branches. It truly looks like a natural tree. We were also impressed with the packing of the tree, and the additional items included. They thoughtfully included two sets of "fluffing gloves", which are definitely needed for the fluffing operation. The tree was so thick that I got a few scratches on my hand before I started using the gloves. (Just like a real tree, huh?) I did have to put in a bit more time than I anticipated in fluffing the branches, but after a while I developed some technique with it, and was able to move more quickly. We moved into a new home this year, and the purchase of a new tree was something of a celebration for us. We're very happy with Balsam Hill."
"We bought a Balsam Hill 7.5 Fraser Fir Lighted Tree 3 years ago. Last Year 2018
Christmas most of the lights did not work. We tried fuses replacement, main bulb replacement, nothing worked. We were crunched for time, so we went and bought multiple rolls of lights and strung them on the tree. When we took the tree down, we packed it up in the box. This 2019 Christmas season, today we brought the box in and started puttin it up. More lights did not work from what we experienced last year. We tried fuses and main bulb replacement to no better results.
We called Balsam Hill, spoke to a Customer Service person, no help. She said she would get a Supervisor. Spoke to Supervisor, she was no help.
The First person said our warrantee was out in March of 2019, the Supervisor said our warrantee was out in January 2019. I said To heck with Warrantee, we have a very expensive Balsam Hill 7.5 Fraser Fir Lighted Tree, with very few lights. Help us fix it, or give us some options. The CS Person, and The Supervisor said no dice, they can not do Anything For Us! Absolutely Zero, Nada, 000000!!! This was not acceptable to us. I said to The BH Supervisor, we have a Piece of BH Junk. She said we have a tree, I said no, we bought a tree With Lights! I saw where the average life of a Fake Lighted Tree was 10 Years!

For weeks before Halloween kids (and dogs) would stop by to see what he had for them in the bowl. On Halloween he took over for us when we got too tired to stay up. "Bought a 6ft tree with lights. Once put together it was easy to see it was a cheaply made plastic tree just like a y other... Looks like it's just come out of a cheap Chinese factory.
I'd throw it in the bin as its embarrassing when anyone comes round our house. It's looks nothing like a Norway spruce that's for sure. Money totally wasted as our old tree of 20 yes is still better quality than this cheap crap. "
"We received our tree December 3, 2019. The fold out bar was damaged causing the tree to lean at about a 60 degree angle. Called customer service, thinking they would send out a new tree asap, and I would return this one. Nope. They had to go through a 'process' that would take weeks. So no Christmas tree for us. And honestly, except for the amount of lights, the tree didn't look any different from a tree I could get at a big box store. Seriously save your money. Worst customer service ever."
"A premium product, commanding premium dollars, should use best technology available. Instead, our color & clear 7.5’ Vermont White Spruce is designed so that one bad bulb incapacitates a very large section. Lights lasted until the warranty was up, 3rd year. Customer Support confirms that it is my responsibility to inspect every bulb and find the problem myself. There are 1600 bulbs on this tree; after spending 9 hours over the course of two days, I give up. I regret ever spending $800 on a Balsam Hill prelit. We were suckered in by the shape of the needles. Do yourself a favor, buy an unlit tree and light it yourself. I have yet more time and heartache to look forward to when I unclip and unstring this tree of its factory lighting. Big box stores are happy to sell me inexpensive lights that stay on if one or two bulbs go out."
"First off, I was so excited to have this tree. I did quite a bit of research and from the pictures and reviews (the ones they publish anyway) I was sure this would suit our needs. Bought it on sale at the end of the season and our bad for not putting it up till now. I will be donating this tree. We went and cut a fresh one yesterday. After many calls and emails to Balsam, they kept telling me to fluff the tree. I cant say exactly how many hours I fluffed, but it was all for nothing. The tree is see through, and looks like a Sams club tree. Their "Supervisor" Richard, was rude and condescending on the phone. Every email I sent was addressed by a new person who again would tell me to fluff. Save yourself a lot of timed & $'s. If your looking for a realistic, full tree you will not find it at Balsam Hill"
"I ordered a Tree, garland and a wreath. Balsam sent the wrong wreath and would not send a replacement without me paying for it. They exemplify Customer NO SERVICE.
When I requested return labels they said no problem. Then I read the label and they wanted me to pay $25 per box for the returns. Horrible Experience.
