"I only occaisionally have troubles with my orders, however because I rarely shop any way but online and buy primarily ebooks when the mistakes occur they are often late at night or on weekends. This last problem was to tie up my money from the purchase of a book for several days. The problem before that was when your site denighed my credit card. Both problems were cleared up but when you want to download and read a book it is annoying. I am working on being able to get books from other sources to spread the annoyance.

"Terrible customer support and warranty experience. Purchased a Nook Simple Touch back in 4/30/12. I loved it, because it felt very comfortable in my hands, and there were such a great selection of competitively priced ebooks for it. A couple of weeks ago, it suddenly froze. I googled for solutions, tried them all before turning to B&N for help.
Support kept insisting on the same solutions I have already tried. Took forever to respond to me. Finally, he said to go to the store to have it fixed. I ordered this from online, because B&N is far from me. I then asked him if I could just mail it in to which he responded to try the solution first. I already did. SEVERAL TIMES! He kept saying the same thing over and over again and taking the longest time to say it. My next device is definitely NOT going to be from B&N considering their unwillingness to followup on their warranty and go out of their way to make it hard for a customer to get this device fixed under warranty."
"The purchase was simple and easy. Once you have ordered anything from Barnes and Noble your information will stay in the system for the next time you purchase. I was able to track my purchase and know exactly when it arrived. My book came right on time. "

"Generally I am a big fan of B&N....but not so much with their used book sellers. Ordered two used books recently. One came but took much longer than normal to ship. The other book I found out a little over a week later, the seller didn't even have and I'd have to re-order. They sent me to a link that said I could get that book for $102. Put it back through the regular search mode and a new edition was $22. I have a nook, but this book was not available on it...The Scleroderma Book. It's too bad that some of the books that could help those of us with illnesses aren't available in nook editions. I'd have ordered it that way in a heart beat and had it in minutes. Found out that B&N takes several days to notify used book sellers then you have to wait on them to finally ship out the order. This is a good idea in principle and I like the recycling aspect of it, but if you want a book fairly quickly. Skip the used seller option."
"customer service went above and beyond in helping me. i was given one of the first black and white nooks for my birthday and knew nothing about it. It was a hand me down from the mother in law (without instructions or cords) but was apprieciated nonetheless...reading is what gets me through the day. I bought a color nook mainly because of the ability to read at night without lights to disturb the better half. Thank you very much for assisting me in feeding the brain......"
"Overall experience(s) have been very good. The selection and purchase of Nook e-books are easy and very quick. The browsing process is enjoyable and way too addictive! There are a few fine points I don't quite grasp yet, but the answers are usually in the e-instructions on the nook. Having a huge library at my disposal is a rabid reader's joy!

"I have always had very satisfactory service both in my in store experiences, on line purchasing, and technical help both in store and online. Barnes and Noble offer something Amazon never will. The personal one on one you can get whenever you visit there stores. There prices are generally lower as well with excellent selections. I have been a long time customer and intend to be one for a long time to come."

"I couldn't read anywhere that my order that I paid for 1-3 days shipping would take 3 days to actually start the shipping process. So it will actually take 8 days (including now the weekend that are not business days) to get here which is a way too late to have the gift to a friend's birthday. So now I have to spend extra money... but I don't think the company cares. :(
I just read some reviews... And I saw people complaining the chat doesn't work (and it's true) and seems that can take longer than the 8 days (I also didn't receive the ship confirmation on my email). Too bad so many people complaining about the same issues."
"I signed up for membership with opportunity to cancel before being charged a $25.00 membership fee. Cancelled as instructed but was charged the fee anyway. When I called customer service they indicated yes they had the cancellation, but no credit was issued. If I had not checked my statement I don't believe I would have received a credit without making the additional phone call. I consider this deceptive, bordering on fraud."
