"I am an old biker and have been riding for the last 40 years. Buying batteries when necessary. My boy is a motorcycle mechanic. This Battery Mart battery EXT-16 is reported to be Made in the USA. I paid $99 and it looks really nice. I keep it hooked to a charger monitor with float mode monitoring when not in use. (1.5 amps) When my bike failed to start (click, click, click) I removed the battery and the tested it. It showed 13 volts and dropped down to 4 volts when in the load test. I charged this at 2 amps for 8 hours. It raised up to 6 volts on the load test. I submitted my warranty claim and was told to charge it for at least another 24 hours at 2 amps. Which I did. Load voltage remained 6. I was then told to return this battery as it is still under warranty. It cost me $25 UPS. I wondered why we are wasting money on shipping on an obviously defective battery. But I sent it back as instructed. I received an email from Battery Mart claiming the battery was swollen and making shaking sounds. They accused me of overcharging the battery and would not warranty it but offered to return it to me for $17.31 freight. (a useless defective battery) I called them and they said they were afraid to load test the battery and claimed it made a funny shaking sound. (whatever that means) The best they could do was offer me 10% discount on another battery. These people do not understand customer service and I would recommend NOT doing business with them.

"I purchased a new battery for my 2005 Harley Softail Deluxe on 5/28/17. I also ordered this Harley pocket tool which was the best thing ever. On 8/13/17, I was 80 miles away from my home at a restaurant dining with a number of other riders. When I returned to my bike, I turned the ignition and nothing. Checked a number of different items, and still nothing. My husband quickly figured out that the lights were dim on the bike, so he swapped batteries from his bike with the nifty Harley pocket tool kit (which they should give away with every battery sold!) and the bike started right up, And thankfully there was an AutoZone that was open on Sunday and had my battery in stock about five miles away from the restaurant!!! A few of the fella's rode over to purchase the new battery and returned my old battery for the core charge. I called Battery Mart the following morning to explain the circumstances, and they were unwilling to provide either a refund or a merchandise credit (not even a gift card) without the original battery being returned. I explained to them that I was stranded 80 miles from my home on the bike, and I didn't have the opportunity to bring the battery back with me. Nope, nothing, nada... they refused to offer me anything. I purchased this battery from them in good faith, and less than 3 months later the battery died. What kind of business are they running? Trust me, if you don't want to get stranded somewhere on your bike, don't buy a battery from Battery Mart! "
"I went to their website looking for a better for my scooter. Followed their instructions and made the purchase. Got the battery and it was too big and the polarity was backwards. Called to make the return and they wouldn't pay for the return shipping. Had to file a dispute through PayPal to get my money back. Customer disservice agent Julia Burge was the responsible party. Buy someplace else. Bunch of crooks!"
"I was happy with them, they send me the batteries out the same day and it arrived before the weekend."
""Beware of evil UPS shipping cost/brokerage fee to Canadian customers, pushed by Batterymart Customer Service.
I placed an order for two 9V Li-ion rechargeable batteries from them, shipped to Toronto CAN. The payment procedure went through in no time, i.e choose shipping method ( USPS in my case ) of my choice. Paid and waited for order to be shipped. Few days later I received emails saying I had to choose UPS or they would not ship my order, no choice here so I accepted their suggestion. When I received my package, I got hit with a big brokerage fee by UPS, even more than my order's value, besides the ridiculous shipping charge from $4 USPS First class to $20 UPS standard. Emailed their CS asking for returning package due to the stupid brokerage fee UPS charged me, and was told it's my problem, and if I return my order, they will refund me, BUT minus my $20 original shipping cost, and return shipping cost too, both way. So if I return my package, I would leave in the dark with only few dollars left after Battery Mart charges shipping cost both way. Not a word of sympathy, or making customer happy to come back by any mean, just dead cold behaviour from Battery Mart. By reading many reviews here, I knew that I am not the only one who got treated this way if customers decide to return package for any reason.
I ended up by paying total $76.00 for two 9V rechargeable batteries !!!
My question is, if USPS shipping is not available for Canadian customers to choose from, why it is there on your webstore ? If I had known UPS shipping is $20 + $25 brokerage fee for two 9V li-ion rechargeable batteries costs $12.95 each, I would have purchased from my local store or going elsewhere...
And Battery Mart, don't tell us that duty/tariff and import tax are customer's responsibility, I knew that with nearly 10 years of buying online. The point is, if you already knew your customers will get hit so hard by UPS, why still let UPS as an shipping option, and even recommend it to your customers ? Will you think a customer would come back to you after paying $35 for a single rechargeable battery ? And with your terrible, very rude Customer Service staffs ? Either way, it is NOT a practical healthy business to say the least...

"Sent me a bad battery, after hours trying to get someone on the phone they tell me to send it back after I threaten to call my credit card. Months came by and they never sent me a new battery, tried calling them but they said they never got my battery back, I had tracking showing delivery so I call my credit card. Credit card Co. calls them and they give them a bogus tracking number from another battery delivered to a shop in my city! wtf?? now credit card company refused to honor chargeback and these crooks got my money and my $10 core. Heard similar stories on the bike forums so no surprise. Stay away from Battery Mart."
"I need to revise my review of this company because I have never been more impressed with the customer service of a company than I am with Battery Mart. Writing the prior review was the extent I had planned to go with this issue because for a $20 purchase I didn't feel it was worth the time and effort to pursue further. I figured I'd use what I could and dispose of the rest, lesson learned. Well I learned a lesson all right. Apparently Battery Mart was not going to let it go for a $20 purchase and that should give you some indication right there of how much customer service means to this company. They tracked me down and made it known that an upset customer was not acceptable. They bent over backwards to make the situation right and went well above and beyond what I would consider a fair resolution. It is so extremely rare these days for a company to demonstrate such proactive customer service. Things happen and we don't always get it right the first time but the true testament is how that situation is handled. I now have to highly recommend that anyone can shop with complete confidence at Battery Mart because my experience is that my satisfaction was paramount to them even over my own objections.
