"I have been a photojournalist for newspapers, magazines and web sites for decades. But I am a novice at preparing photos for professional-grade, display-quality printing. I have used Bay Photo for several years now. I've found them to be very affordable, serious, responsive and helpful professionals. Their prints consistently match my submissions. Packing is impressive even for small orders. Delivery cost and time are very good. The online ordering program, Bay ROES, is like something from the early 90s, but it works. In my experience, customer service has been prompt and helpful. "
"Bay Photo would not respond mo matter how hard I tried to contact them. I went to another photo print shop excellent customer service and received my photo in less than a week the same photo I waited two months for from Bay Photo. I could not recommend them any less."
"I have used Bay Photo for several yrs, for prints (paper & metal); always with very very satisfying results. In December tried for the first time using Bay Designer to design a Photo Book. Took awhile but got it. Prior reviews elsewhere criticized BP for being more expensive than others. Got the photo book and, while clearly a bit more expensive, absolutely a Stunning product that will be treasured forever. Will definitely be doing more with Bay!! Outstanding quality & customer support!"
"Do not expect black & white prints to be free from color. Do not expect customer service to provide customers with service. Otherwise, a fine shop.
I ordered 3 prints: one full color, one strictly black & white, and one toned black & white. The full color print looks fine. The B&W print and toned print both had strong green casts.
I complained. The customer service rep told me that the file had not been desaturated. When I argued that it had been--and asked to know where to find the color in the file that I had uploaded--I was told that RGB files are not grayscale, and so I should not have expected a true black and white print. That is patently absurd.
They reprinted the small black & white print, after having desaturating it on their end and hand-checking the result. It was tinted blue.
The prints were timely, well packaged, and the shipping remarkably affordable. However, they were also poor quality and the service was belligerent. To top it off--they never applied the new customer discount to my order. I will never buy from them again, and I don't think you should either."
"I've done business with these people for a couple years. In the past I had a minor problem and they were not willing to correct it but I chalked that up to mediocre staff and let it go at that.
I create competition photographs for exhibitions so the work has to be right and completed in a timely fashion. A local jewelry repair TJ's jewelry in La Grande Oregon destroyed the metal print I initially provided him. I had planned legal action against him but he has filed for bankruptcy.
I needed a replacement rushed to me. I spoke via email with Grace Coulson no less than ten times over a several day period regarding this replacement. (I have the emails) She told me I'd have to pay double but they could get the metal print done and for increased shipping charges she could positively have it delivered at the RV park I was staying in for the Art Festival. I told her this location was remote but she assured me UPS would have it there at 8 am on the scheduled delivery date. Not only was UPS NOT the carrier, I found Fed Ex was not going to make the delivery date nor had they told Bay Photo they could, thus I'd miss the show deadline. I had to drive approximately 160 miles, meet the Fed Ex airplane only to learn the metal print was defective. it was not properly cut (paid extra for this) and had no wall hanger in place. I was charged for both. Customer service assured me they would refund my money but wanted the print returned and they would pick it up. I never unpacked it, just opened the box which has been waiting for a month for Bay Photo to have UPS come for it. These people are blatantly untruthful, unprofessional and not worth your time to do business with."
