"General experience was good but unremarkable"

"I always like the products at Beall's, but considering the two stores in my area I am not usually pleased with the customer service. There were people sitting around when I went to the check out line yesterday and I am not usually greeted until I go up to the check out to purchase something."

"Bealls - Gun Barrel City, Texas. HORRIBLE customer service. (-EXCEPT with Linda, who checked me out.) I needed assistance trying to find a tennis shoe in my size.The one on display was my size, but I could not find its mate nor any other boxes with like shoes.Went all thru the boxes.Was in the area at least 15 mins.! A woman in the next aisle was looking for shoes too & remarked there isn't anyone around to help. I went up front & saw an Assoc at a register checking someone, & 1 assoc.giving makeover to someone. Finally found woman - early 40's, nice looking, long wavy hair with dark roots - arranging sweaters.I asked for help in shoe dept. She looked annoyed. Followed me to shoe dept & when I told her I had not been able to find any shoe in my size or even the mate to the one on display she said the only thing we have is out here. If its not here, we don't have it. Very unhelpful. I replied so you don't even have the mate to THIS shoe ?She said you'd be surprised, but looked around, found its mate behind some other boxes, pulled it out & gave it to me AND TURNED AND WALKED AWAY !!!!!!!!!! I might have thanked her for her effort IF SHE HAD HUNG AROUND. She said nothing, just turned her back on us & left ! Luckily the shoes fit and I decided to purchase them. Linda at the register was VERY friendly & helpful at checkout. gave me some promotion coupons, etc. I never did see the other woman anymore. I guess she went in some back room & hid or something."
