"I made an order this past weekend with beatprice before checking resellerratings.com. Needless to say, I deserve what I got!

I made an order (3/8/03) for Shuttle's new SN41G2 barebone system on the basis that it was the cheapest listed on PriceWatch, and had free shipping. When filling out the order info, I specifically said NOT to place my order if there was a mistake in their ad.

Immediately after my order, I received an automated response. about an hour later, I received 3 duplicate confirmation e-mails, each sent to me at different times. They were from a Linda Chen (whom I have yet to talk to) who said that the ad details on PriceWatch will be honored. Note that the e-mail address was from ****@****.

On 3/10/03 I received an e-mail from a "Jean Huang" from ****@**** saying that my price was adjusted [to reflect free shipping]. No mention of my order details at all, except for the order #30317. The same day, I received a UPS Ship Notification from UPS courtesy of "UNITED MICROSYSTEMS/ETHERTEK", with scheduled delivery for 3/12/03 (TODAY!). Later on 3/10/03 I received an e-mail at 11:36PM PST from Linda sending the UPS tracking number, along with this message: "I also want to remind you to allocate time to make sure the parts are working the way you expect. There is an expiration date for refund and warranty."

On 3/12/03 I received a package from beatprice, but it was not what I expected. It was an ANTEC CASE which I did not order. Thinking that they purposely sent me the wrong item, I e-mailed them saying I wanted a full refund, not a re-ship or anything. Later that night they e-mailed me, saying that my order was indeed INSIDE the ANTEC box. I did not receive this e-mail until the next day, 3/13/03, and I was not near the package to inspect this claim.

At about noon on 3/13/03, I was getting many phone calls from a number I recognized as being from beatprice. I finally had the chance to call back (I was in the library) and I was met with a somewhat rude individual named Frank, who had sent me the e-mail last night. Apparently beatprice watches resellerratings.com, and Frank had asked me why I "keep complaining" about the order, when he already told me that it was inside the Antec box! Well, as you recall, I did not get his e-mail until the next day, and I was nowhere near the package, so how was I supposed to know? Frank repeatedly asked in a rude tone of voice as to why I did not believe him 100%, and I told him that I was not told that my order would be inside a different box. Regardless, my conversation with Frank left me bitter, as I felt he thought I must have been ignorant because I did not yet open the package. A little common sense please! Before our conversation ended, He asked that I change my comment here because I had stated earlier not to buy from beatprice. I said I would, so this is it.

I finally got home that night and opened the box. My package was indeed there, and I breathed a sigh of relief. Once I received all other parts from different places I ordered, I tested the XPC and it worked.

In closing, I have to say that they offered the best price at the time, but they are not very organized. I was not notified that my order would be in a different box. Frank was not very friendly, and I received MANY e-mails, one such describing my comment here, and that it was bad and that no one would read it. Though they had a great price and fast ship, I doubt that I would order from them in the future, because of their customer service and lack of professionalism in dealing with customers.

This was the case on my item and they happily met the pricewatch.com price (~25% savings). They replied quickly to my emails about their policy. The item was shipped and arrived as promised.
