"I would not do business again with this merchant. In our opinion they baited us with a fair deal on our desired camera and switched to one of lesser value. When we called them on it they demanded additional money to provide a similar model and stated the "The m407 [camera we ordered] was discontinued beyond our control." After the conversation the camera was still listed as available on their website. They claim the "part number was associated with the inferior m22 camera but the order confirmed the m407.
They confirmed our order for an HP M407 camera with 3x optical zoom and charged us $137.95. Several days later we received an inferior HP m22 camera with no optical zoom. There was no attemtp to contact us before the fact. We contacted the merchant. In their favor the merchant answered the phone and was polite but refused to make it right. The merchant refused to provide a similar model to the m407 without an additional $50. They later changed their tune in an email to $37.00 additional. This was not the camera we wanted however and we had forgone other opportunities to purchase it. My feeling is this behavior was intentional but an honest mistake could have been made. The feeling that it was intentional is reinforce by their decision not to won up to their error and make it right with a customer who will not never be back. This customer also intends to pursue other options available at law. If we consumers don’t take a stand when we are wronged, others will likely be harmed and we will be complicit in the continuance of the cycle.
