"Avoid this company like the plague! They are scam artists of the first order. As another reviewer notes, they operate under a number of different names (Call the “customer service” number, and notice that they don’t identify themselves by company name). I have been trying since January 2003 to get a credit of $150, resulting from an exchange, posted to my credit card account. My Email requests are disregarded. I have called numerous times, endured interminable hold times, have been bounced from one “service” agent to another, asked to call back, have been assured that the credit will be made “right away,” “as soon as I hang up the phone,” etc. Lies, all lies. Finally in April, they told me that the credit had been made back on March 16. Another lie. My credit card company confirms that no credit was ever made. I have spoken to Brian Peterson, Mitchell, Mark, Matt and others. They all say what they think I want to hear, then do nothing. They are very efficient at taking your initial order, debiting your credit card within the hour, calling you at home to high-pressure you into buying accessories you didn’t order. But try to get honest dealing? Forget it. Readers, if you have an unsettled dispute with this sham of a company and are still within 60 days of your original order, call your credit card company NOW! They may be able to help you. If and when I ever do receive the credit, I will post an amendment to this statement."

"Same BS as all the other online camera vendors. But they go even a step further. First: their ordering page WHERE YOU ENTER YOUR CREDIT CARD #, is W-I-D-E open! It is neither encrypted nor secure, and they have audacity to state on the page: "this is a secure order form...." blah blah blah. They are accepting CC #'s with absolutely no security at all! No telling how many have been victimized by this!!! Being a bit more 'internet savvy' than most; I know to right click all ordering pages and look at the properties for encryption & SSL, and there page was just a typical http webpage!

Second: the ordering problem. I CALLED ON THE PHONE and spoke with ****@**** and HAD HIM VERIFY the camera was IN STOCK. I asked about the non-secure order method, and he said something about "maintenance" which was not true because two weeks before that and now almost two weeks later, they STILL claim the page is secure and it is not. I went ahead and ordered from the website (more convenient that having to spell everything out on the phone) and I purposely entered a wrong CC # and noted in the comments area that I would call, or call me for the correct CC#. Immediately after ordering, I CALLED AGAIN and spoke AGAIN with ****@****, I asked ONCE AGAIN "these are in stock, right?" and he ASSURED me again they WERE, and I gave him my correct CC #. He said the order would be approved/processed soon. Maybe half an hour later, I get the "dreaded email" where they say to "call them to verify your order" which is when they try and sell you a fortune in overpriced accessories. Well, surprisingly they did NOT, and RANDALL AGAIN I spoke with said: "There's no problem, it was just about the credit card # you gave online, and we already have the correct one, so NO PROBLEMS". "NO PROBLEMS", and yes, I even ASKED AGAIN, "these are in stock, right", and got "YES THEY ARE" and he went on to say the order had been approved and would be shipped "today or tomorrow". HE EVEN WENT TO THE STOCK AREA, OR WAREHOUSE, whatever you want to call it, and VERIFIED THEY WERE IN STOCK!!!! Ok, so THREE TIMES now, he PROMISES me they are IN STOCK. Great guy so far, really nice...I was shocked as the "NY/New England area" camera vendors go! What a nice experience! I even emailed them THANKING THEM and Randall for their up front and kind treatment. BIG mistake, then I got "slapped back in the face". A day or so later, I still have no email with tracking info in it. I email them, again, again, each day, several days asking if it's been shipped yet. More than a week later, these @#$% JERKS finally reply saying: "....duuuhhhhh, we don't have any of these, but will get them in...." (in the typical) "...10-15 days". NO explanation was given other than an "allocation problem" which translated means; "you buy no accessories? NO CAMERA!!!" The time has passed when they said they would be able to "fulfill my order" and I'm STILL WAITING!!!!!!!!! I replied back to that email many times with some 'choice comments' and the promise of letting every ratings website know about them if the camera was shipped as promised. After several attempts, they send an email saying "Call us to 'resolve' this matter", why, so they can lie to me and jack me around AGAIN???!!! Well there's NOTHING TO "discuss" or RESOLVE!!!!!! SEND what the hell I was PROMISED THREE TIMES that you had, that's it, no more BS!!!!! Well, no more replies, no shipment notification, NO DAMN CAMERA. The FTC needs to get involved with these unscrupulous, lying, immoral online camera vendors NOW and do some serious 'house cleaning'. Cameratopia, Bestdiscocam, Stop4camera, Ccicameracity (whom does not tell you that what you order HAS NO WARRANTY!), they are ALL THE SAME; lying, spineless slugs.

Update: Even worse, their so called 'customer service' phone # ***-***-**** given at their site has been disconnected. I was able to reach them at another ph. #, and spoke with that slug "randall". After stating in a 'colorful manner' I didn't appreciate being lied to THREE times, his response was; "get over it" then he hung up on me. What a priceless a$$hole. Well, we intend to pay a visit to every ratings website in existence in efforts to warn others of these people. It's vendors such as them that are destroying 'internet shopping'. I would say the only alleged 'satisfied' comment for them here is a 'plant' BY THEM. Do yourself a HUGE favor and look elsewhere for whatever you need. I was all ready to come back here and say the matter had been resolved and update my rating, but they saw to it that that would never happen.

"one of the worst purchasing experiences i have had on the web "period"! i have conatced the NYC BBB about them and noticed the long list of other complaints against BestDiscoCam. I will NOT do bussines with this group ever again!!!!"

"Terrible customer service! Will not buy from these clowns again. They have very short hours, and when I finally got through, they said I had to go to thier web site to make a dispute - Sorry, I have wasted enough time on this already. I was fooled into thinking that the product was in stock and would be at my house before we left for vacation. Instead I get a letter stating that it has been backordered. "

"Never Again!!Good prices if you don't factor high pressure & incomplete delivery! Minutes after the internet order came the high pressure phone call to "upgrade" for a higher price. The upgrade components were cheeze. The operations manual was "back ordered" and one month later, is not here!!! no customer service. Once the sale is made, they don't care. I buy equipment for a small health care company. This reseller is not someone who wants our business."

"My eperience with BESTDISCOCAM.COM was a positive one, Mickey their rep was helpful and informative. The cam I purchased was the lowest around, also purchased additional related items and would do business again with them. Cannot comment on their shipping dept since I'm still waiting for delivery of my order, however, Mickey assured me that it would take approx seven to ten days for delivery. "
