I fill the butcher shop bones with ground turkey and freeze them.
I wash them off and refill them, some have lasted up to six months.

Thought your shank bones might be be a source, but it's back to the butcher shop,
where they are special order.
You need to develop a refillable shank bone "kit", six four inch shank bones and enough
filler to recycle each one 10 times before you discard the bone.
Even better sell the bones and filler separately.
In my case, one dog is only interested in getting out the ground turkey filler, the other on
likes to chew on the bone as well.
I don't mind refilling the bones since I am 100% sure they are getting a very healthy treat
less a bunch of additives and preservatives."
