"Raymond (GM at this store) I hope you read this because you totally suck as a GM and as a person. I am not one to do this (actually never wrote a negative review on the internet) but this was easily the worst showing of customer service I have ever seen in my life. I consider myself a nice, calm guy, who usually goes with the flow and never lose my temper. A little background: I bought a touchpad 16gb as a birthday present for my brother online and ordered it for in store pickup at this store. One day passed and did not hear anything about the status of my order so I called since my credit card was charged the full price ($434). Apparently they liquidated the item (I paid $434) that morning and did not know what to do about my order. The lady on the phone (who was very friendly and understanding to me) said that she had one more left from a customer who did not pick up their item that morning. She said she would put that one on hold so I could make the 30 minute drive to the store. I politely thanked her and took the commute down to the TO best buy. I arrived at that best buy and was greeted by a nice kid working customer service who took sympathy to my case. He said he would get the manager and see what they could do. This is when Raymond came along, the GM of the store, walking up to me the last thing he wanted to do was talk to me. The first thing he said, without me even uttering a word is "there is nothing I can do, they are sold out". I told him of my ordeal and he simply said "that sucks" and continued to say he couldn't do anything about it. Not once did he ever say the word "i'm sorry" or even care to check their stock . I told him one of his employees said they held one for me and made me do the 1 hour commute there and back to pick it up. His only response was "there is nothing I can do, best buy is sold out of them" even though I saw 2 touchpads sitting right on the shelf behind him. I asked him, "so what are those touchpads?" and his response was "oh those are accessories" even though he was blatantly lying to me. I told him it was a little ridiculous that I placed an online order yesterday at full price and never got a pickup confirmation but they would sell the product the next day for 1/4 of the price and not even notify me. His response again was "there is nothing I can do about that and you should have asked for a manager before you came in". The whole time I asked questions, perplexed what was going on, I could not believe this man had the audacity to stand there with a rude smirk on his face and not even offer a single apology or even try to help me in the situation. Does Best Buy really want a man like this running one of their stores? It really makes the company as a whole look bad and I will never, EVER, buy anything in store again. This was the worst display of customer service I have ever encountered and I hope to warn shoppers to be aware of this when shopping at the TO best buy because if you ever run into a problem, you WILL NOT BE TAKEN CARE OF. Not to mention the fact that I called best buy corporate to complain and was put on hold for 45 minutes and then they hung up on me (I was not as mad at that since the telephone people are friendly and courteous). Raymond I hope you read this and realize you are not God and you should treat people how you would like to be treated. "

"This place is a downright nightmare. I am trying to change an order. Every time I call, no matter what phone number, I am put on hold for unbearable amounts of time, even after begging not to be and being told that I won't be.
Never, ever, ever buy from this store. It's not worth the blood pressure medicine you will need to restore your health. I wish I could pick a negative number of stars.

"If I could give them a zero stars out of 5 I would, but it looks like I have to give them at least 1. So I am from Southern Indiana and after shopping around for about a couple hours online to find a video card that I needed, I found that Best Buy actually carried one that would fit my needs. I called to make sure they had it in stock and they said yes. Great so far they are doing pretty good. Now understand that there are 2 other Best Buys that are actually closer to me than this store on the Outer Loop but they were the only store that had it in stock. So before I conclude my call I ask if they price match online prices from other stores and websites. I was told YES they do, but to bring a print out of the price of the same item so as they could verify it, I said no problem and we even talked about how much the other store was selling the same item for much much less. She said not a problem. The woman asked me my name and info and if I wanted them to go ahead and pull it off the shelves so it would be available at the Customer Service desk. I said why not that would save me time to find it in the store. So I drive 40 mins to get there. Wait in line at the Customer Service desk for about 15 mins, there were only 2 people in front of me mind you. They ask me my name as I said your holding an item for me. They pull the product for me and I told the girl that I had the print out too for price matching. She said oh great. She then tells me that oh this won't work.......I was like what do you mean I asked if you all price match other stores and websites before I drove 40 mins to get here. We even verified it over the phone. I was told that oh we don't price match Amazon, or other third party sites. It has to be like Staples, Office Depot, places like that. So needless to say waste of my time, effort, fuel and all future sales. I'll buy my stuff online from now on. I urge anyone else to do the same. If you are in the market for anything from there shop them online, I guarantee you will find it cheaper some where else."

"Bought a HP Photosmart printer on Friday along with a computer(all in one). They kept the computer to install stuff and i took the printer home. I brought the printer home and placed in office. Went back Sunday morning to pick up computer. Later that day went to take the printer out of the box to start my set up and the printer glass is broken. Took it back immediately with receipt in hand. They took one look at it and looked at the box. The box showed no sign of damage so they were not going to give me a refund/exchange. It was going to be my loss. I was extremely disapointed in Best Buy's policy. If I had bought it at Walmart they wouldn't of given me any hassels. Anyway fortunately for me the salesman was honest and admitted that the printer had fallen off his cart at the time of purchase, so was able to get a refund. Now I understand the policy to some degree,,,lot of people out there always trying to get a upperhand on someone. But i think a better policy would be that such items would be opened for inspection by the salesman and customer and that they can sign a note that at the time of sale there was no obvious broken parts. This should be with printers/computers and tv's at least."

"I'm very satisfied with my purchase at bestbuy.com. The Spanish version of their online store has the best translation of a website I've seen besides wikipedia. I used a non-US credit card for US store pickup without problems. Store pickup is a great idea made even better with the option to have someone else do it for you. No problems at the pickup either. Being able to see if your local Bestbuy store has your product in stock is a great feature. I got a Toshiba laptop for almost the price of a netbook. Excellent shopping experience and great deal on my purchase."

"the most incompetent idiots on the online order service. it's been almost one month and i still have not received my washer/dryer. have placed several calls to online customer service only to get clueless responses. one girl even told me i qualified for a discount to be credited to my card-- i called back later to confirm this, the next rep had no idea what I was talking about...these people are incompetent..don't waste your time with them."

"We ordered a washing machine from Best Buy and when it didn't arrive, we called the company and were told we had to go into the store. At the store, we were told that machine had sold out, so they tried to sell us a more expensive machine. Finally, they agreed to provide a similar washing machine for the same price. The manager called to the warehouse himself to make sure it was physically there. He promised to call if there were any problems. We were supposed to receive a call today to give us the window for delivery tomorrow. When no one contacted us, we called the number provided and were told that this machine had also sold out, so our machine was not arriving the next day. We were told to go to the store first thing in the morning. All of this after buying the "black tie" warranty service. We'll never order anything or go into Best Buy again. We've never had such lousy service and passing of the buck before at any retailer. It's now been 3 weeks without a washing machine. "

"Bought a Denon reciever for my TV. I was told I needed a RCA cord to hook it up. That did not work. Went back and was told I need a Digital Optical Audio Cable. Still does NOT work. I have been given the run around by people that tell me they know what they are doing and I still have an expensive add on to my system that isn't worth a dime if it doesn't work. They kepp telling me to come back and try this or that. WHO IS PAYING FOR MY GAS AND TIME to do all this "running back"? I would have thought that a store with the GEEK SQUAD could figure out how to add surround sound to my NEW TV. I'm going back allright, TO RETURN ALL THIS JUNK and go to a local NON BIG BOX store and buy my equipment. I'm fed up and this will be my last stop at this companys store. And now they want me "log in" to complete my review? I suppose they want my info so they can send me allerts to BEST BUYS. Well, don't waste your time as I will NEVER return."

"The secret way to save big at Best Buy? "Browse, browse,browse!"
I'm just an average DIY'er and like most will save until I can afford what I want. But I just wanted to share my experience at Best Buy. I had just purchased a Blu-ray Player because my home theater system had been laid to waste by a broken Samsung DVD changer/player. For those in the know, I wasn't too happy to learn that the loss of one element of a "box" home theater made the entire system useless. But Best Buy peeps were helpful and I got what I needed to employ my Pioneer back-up system. So...I wandered over to appliances looking for a steamer to sanitize laminate flooring but to no avail. However,(and I really love that word 'however')I decided I should price cooktops as my 36 in. 1974 model was wasting energy( pilot lights)and looking horrible! I was neither impressed nor excited that the cooktops in my size generally cost anywhere from $1499 and up if you want quality. But then...I turned the corner and beheld an unbelievable sight. Sitting away from the main cooktop area was 36" KitchenAid 6 Burner Stainless Steel/Black Cooktop for clearance at "$479.99"!!(that's a $1920 discount!) After breathing into a brown-paper bag and regaining my disinterested consumer facade...I bought it! And you needn't guess...Yes, I love it! BTW, I also forgive all the envious gazes and silently-mouthed utterances given to me on my way through checkout!!
This is my 1st review ever and I wouldn't have been able to write it but for one reason...by taking an extra 5 minutes to "browse"...I found a bargain of a lifetime!

"This is the worst store EVER!!! They are major rip off artists!!! I bought a Canon Powershot SX120 Digital camera for my daughter's birthday. I was talked into buying their extended warranty because the guy told me that if she broke it or dropped it it would be repaired or replaced. Well that was August of last year. This is now June. Not even a year later the camera breaks. Some problem with the lens. Took it to Best Buy and they sent it out to be repaired. Got an email stating that they needed more info and to please stop in to the store. When my daughter went, they told her that the camera could not be repaired and they don't make that model anymore. They issued her a store credit. When I saw the credit I was stunned! I paid $200 for the camera in August and they gave her a store credit for $145!!! I took the receipt back to them and asked them what was going on, why weren't we getting our $200 back. Their explanation is that the warranty works on TECHNOLOLGY comparison, not price!! The girl said to me "Oh I bought a TV in here 3 years ago for $1200 and it's now $500". I agreed with her but also stated that was three years not 10 months!! It's not even a year! They don't even say how they determine what the camera is now worth! And they don't tell customers about getting a comparable model based on technology and not on price. I went back to the camera department and the closest camera they have to the price they gave me is a SONY Cybershot. Definitely not comparable to the Canon. I asked the guy in the department why they don't tell people about their policy and he had no answer. I said "It's because you know it's a ripoff and that people wouldn't buy your stupid warranty." He said "It's like when you get in a car accident, the insurance company isn't going to fix your car to be at the current model". I said "That is crap because if you have full coverage, the insurance company will cover your car 100%". I will never buy another thing from Best Buy again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now my poor kid is out a camera unless we fork over another $50 or so!!! WORST STORE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Situation: Bought new laptop for nephew on May 22, 2011. Presented to nephew at Grad Party on May 29, 2011. Hard Drive failed on June 9, 2011.

Best Buy retuned computer to manufacturer for new hard drive. Now want $150.00 to restore computer to working order.

So spend $550.00 on new computer and now spend $150.00 within 30 days to get it to work correctly.

"Never order anything online!!! because there is less chance that you will get it. They will take the order and will not ship it and when you call them they will tell you that they place your order as "backorder"!!! ridiculous!!!. "Best Buy is such a great retailer! They have great financing, or great rewards back! I got about $80 in gift certificates when I bought my T2i camera! I also got the protection plan, which was so fortunate because I ended up dropping it! I got a new camera right away, no charges and my protection plan stayed the same for my new item! When I was there, another customer had an older model DSLR, and she got the newest model that had way better features than her old one!

Every time I go in they have the BEST prices, best protection and best employees, I'm so surprised to see the rating, I guess people only write reviews when there is a bad experience! Well anyways great job best buy!
