"I have tried to use Best buy’s online ordering on two separate occasions over the last year and both ended with my order having issues and there customer service department being completely unable to help me.
I ordered a 50’ flat screen tv from them around 5 months ago paid for it up front online. I was told the store would have my tv with in 2 weeks, but a whole month went by and I herd nothing. Finally I called to see what had happened. It turned out that the tv I ordered ran out of stock and they weren’t ordering any more of that model. They never contacted me they just kept my money and waited for me to call. Then they tried to get me a different less quality tv to make up for it. It took several calls and a visit to the store where it was supposed to be delivered to get this issue resolved to my liking.
Now I have ordered an external drive off of there web site and it is supposedly back ordered. The drive I ordered came in 5 different colors some of which they believe are in stock, but that cant just send me a different color drive. I have to cancel my order and pick a different color then hope its one that may or may not be in stock. On top of that inconvenience I ordered with a gift card. In order to even place the new color order I would have to wait for them to mail me a refund gift card then place the order. So no matter what I have to wait 2 weeks for an order that upon payment should have been delivered within a week.
Never again best buy online… never again.

"I have had 2 experiances with Best Buy online, and I absolutely HATE THEM. I had purchased an SSd drive from them on 12/28/10. On 12/31/10 it was unexpectedly canceled. I called them, and was told the order was mistakenly canceled by the warehouse. The rep was very friendly and helped me make a new order. As of 1/3/11, it was still "in process". I called again. This time I was told they were sold out. At no time prior was this info available. I canceled my SSD drive. (Purchased one from newegg.com, received in 3 days.) So their Customer Service sent me a $20 code, I used to buy a PC game. I went to pick it up before my confirmation e-mail. They have one at the store, but the system says they don't, so I can't pick it up. I hate BestBuy.com.

"THE WORST. I bought a remote starter (with "expert" installation). The installation that was supposed to take two or three hours lasted six hours. When I picked up the car, none of the car lights were working so they had to spend another half hour fixing that. The remote starter never worked right and would start itself unexpectedly or lock my car down so that I had to break in. A second visit for a replacement unit lasted over seven hours. The second worked only occassionally. I went back to have them remove the unit and was told that since the unit works sometimes, I would be charged for the "free" installation AND charged for removal of the unit. Dozens of calls to the Best Buy hotline and four more visits to the store and I got them to agree to a refund and removal. (Trying to call the store was useless.) As a going away present, the installer switched some wires under my dashboard so that my all-wheel drive and ESC no longer work properly.
I will never buy anything at this rip-off place. They are unscrupulous and lie right to your face.

"A relic of the past with a matching online inventory/ordering system. I checked inventory online for an item, went to the nearest store that showed in-stock, and they didn't have it. I called the next store on the list, they didn't have it. I placed an online order for store pickup at the third store on the list, they didn't have it. I placed a fourth order at the next store on the list, they didn't have it, and my order was canceled now because they couldn't "verify my information"--which as I found out, means that too many orders were placed in a short time, so I have been flagged. I wonder if their website and database designers are going to get flagged anytime soon for incompetence?"

I put an order as store pickup on 12/11/2010. my order consists of 3 ipad case 1 blackberry torch. even if i purchased as store pickup, they shipped my cases but not my cell phone. and then i called changed from store pickup to shipment for cell phone. 20 days passed they did not ship my phone. and they do not accept cancellation!!!! far away online store of bestbuy!!!!"

i wrote a review of best buy on the best buy website and they deleted it. it would seem that they want you to see how others feel about their stores - as long as your opinion is favorable to them.
here are the contents of that review:
i hate that people will support a business or store that they know, or at least have been warned, is poor and doesn't deserve the business of hard working, well paying consumers. i recently had a horrible experience with best buy in which the manager of the store would not honor the price that was quoted to me by a store sales clerk earlier in the day over the phone. in my phone call, she had run a price check and quoted a price of $399. when i arrived later that day to pick it up, it rang up at $549. i asked the store manager to honor the price that had been quoted; the one that i drove half an hour to pay; the one under which the laptop had been reserved; the one that the sales clerk confirmed to the manager was shown in the system earlier that day. his answer was "i'm sorry, if our system says its $549 right now, that is the price you will have to pay".
why do people continue to support businesses that provide deplorable customer service to the customers who pay so much to shop there. why wouldn't anybody who reads this refuse to shop at best buy and use wal mart or walmart.com (the far far superior source) for any of their needs. when i was young, i was taught that if a business doesn't act like they want my business, they won't get my business. best buy acts like i owe them something. i hope the readers of this review will join me in taking my business elsewhere for all my future electronic needs."
"As I do most of my Christmas shopping online, I made a purchase for best Buy. The purchase was made 11/26/2010. I still have not received the package as they are supposed to have guaranteed Christmas delivery. I can't believe it has been over a month and I still have not received my package. It was suppose to be a Christmas present. Being it didn't ship till 12/22/2010 I thought I could use it as a birthday present for 12/27/2010. It has only made it from Kentucky to Tennessee. Which I believe is ridiculous and don't know If I will ever order online from best buy again."
"I recently purchased a laptop through the online ordering process for a Christmas present. The laptop did not work when opened. At no time during the order, was there any reference to their return policy. Please beware that they do have a published no return policy after 14 days. They policy does not discuss exchanges, but both phone service and the store refused to allow me to exchange the item. I am stuck working with the manufacturer directly. I will order from the manufacturer next time. I though by purchasing from a company that has a store front, that I would receive better service. This was not the case."
"I bought a washer and dryer on Best Buy's website. Big mistake. They're not set up for major appliance purchases on the web.
My order went through and I selected a delivery date on the website as per the instructions. The deliver date came and went, and the delivery didn't happen. I called up only to find out that "oh, our delivery folks don't get notified about web purchases."
If you're going to buy an appliance, then place the order at the store."
