Great experience

"I was going to use another site that offer free shipping and no tracking number but after receiving a free shipping code I decided to give BCP a try. I was just after a box a Backwoods...I've tried to buy them locally by the box but everyone wants to charge full price per pack so this saved me a little over $2 a pack. I placed my order at 5pm, my package shipped the next day with tracking number and arrived in 4 days including the weekend. My box of Backwoods was completely wrapped in air pillows and enclosed in a regular cardboard box so it arrived in perfect condition. I've gone through a few packs now because I wanted to be sure everything was good before I left a review and I'm very pleased. I don't know if you can read the lot numbers on the packs to tell when they are made but so far the packs I received have been fresher/more moist than what I get locally. I occasionally need to mist local packs that are a bit dried out packs with distilled water but I haven't had that problem with these.

Overall I'm very happy and will use them again:

Refused My Service because they "Don't Feel Comfortable" ... What?

"So, they must be a completely judgmental company... that don't deserve my business.

I created an account and placed 4 orders to my husband in a Correctional Facility. They shipped 2 out of the 4 orders to him and I received an email saying they wanted to ship it to my home/billing. I never received the order so I looked it up and noticed it was cancelled. OK, fine. So I go back online to make a new order - this time calling after I did so. The Customer Service lady named Heather state to me that "The fraud department don't feel COMFORTABLE shipping to a CORRECTIONAL FACILITY"... Wow, how judgmental can you be? It's my money - I am paying for the items - I'm the one who should be held responsible! Instead of asking for ID or a picture of my card - they refuse to ship to a jail WHY??? They had a great price but to say they don't feel COMFORTABLE shipping to a jail shows the owner's or whoever is working in "fraud" department's character!! I WILL BE COMPLAINING ON EVERY REVIEW BOARD.

Poor Quality

"I ordered from this company to give them
A shot. My order arrived and I was looking forward to enjoying a nice cigar ( a cigar i smoke frequently) The cigar tasted like a poor quality knockoff. I contacted customer service and explained the situation, they offered s replacement free of charge so i took it. Sadly the same quality issue happened with the second batch, mind you it was a different cigar this time. 2 for 2 horrible tasting cigars, as if they are knockoffs or stale, I advised the customer service agent to compensate me for the ridiculous inconvenience and i was offered free shipping on my NEXT ORDER… as if i would be foolish enough to order again from a company who is shipping me poor tasting cigars. WILL NOT BE BUYING AGAIN !!!

Good prices, Poor Website

"Tried to order through website several times now and each time had to call Customer Service because website would give me free shipping as promised based on a free ship item selected, total dollar amount or coupon code. Sometimes I had all 3 qualifiers for free shipping in my cart, yet it won't credit your order before placing order or after, hence having to call in to untrained nubee agents who exasperate the problem by not knowing how to fix it without asking a supervisor while your put on hold several times. My take is that the website has been programmed to intentionally not give you your free shipping because @ $7.99 you will probably overlook it instead of dealing with CS.
BCP also ships small orders like 5 packs in padded envelopes instead of boxes. This almost guarantees you'll get bent or crushed cigars. They will replace for free after dealing with CS again, but they still ship the replacements in an envelope!

Cancelled order with no notification or reason!

"I’ve used a lot of online tobacco shops and this was the WORST! Ordered my fathers birthday and Father’s Day gifts. Received a confirmation email and then nothing... for over a week and when I checked to see if there was tracking on their site it says cancelled. No email notification, nothing! Thanks for ruing the day!"

The worst ive delt with. Plain disrespectful

"So i ordered some cigars that only come in a certain size. I call and speak to representatives she tells not a problem ill mail u a return label.
I wait a week. Then i call back now this guy tells me that they will not be sending a return label tells me its not his fault. So i ask why did your representative that works there told me that.if i would have known i woulda sent back that day. Now its been about a month and still no refund. I sent the cigars back now every time call they say it takes avout 5 to 10 business days. To hell with that. Wheres my 56.75 i sent you. No way ever ill every be ordering here again

Never again

"Wrong item received and they won't do anything about it. I have to pay for return ship. No way. Customer serv was nice but didn't solve the issue. Now I'm stuck with something I don't want. I will never give my money to them again even though only one product was wrong. Bad experience overall. Go ahead record the conversation. Maybe you will learn something from people complaining, .....or Not. Who cares you won't get my cash. "

I always try a sample purchase to check quality, future pricing, and customer service - not so good this time

"So when Best cigar prices offered a 5 pack of Alec Bradley for $15 I thought I'd give them a try. 4 of the 5 cigars were good. The final cigar fell apart almost immediately to the extent that I couldn't smoke it. I sent an email about the problem and received no response. When I chatted with Richard, he first offered me the chance to return them for a refund. When I explained they were all gone but the one, and sent him a picture to show how bad the cigar faltered, he offered me a $3 credit for the bad cigar.

I asked for further compensation as I was a new customer. I wondered how they would handle such a request (customer service is important to me). He said he couldn't do anything. I realize that $3 is to cover the cost of the cigar but if 20% of the pack I received is beyond use, I would think they'd want to show some extra care to keep me. Nothing do. After I told him I didn't need the credit because I wouldn't use it and left my computer, he noted that he'd have to check with a manager and there wasn't one around (6pm on a weeknight).

I have decided not to risk another purchase with them and will go back to the vendors with whom I've had little issues. Richard was polite but obviously limited in how he could deal with a disappointed customer.

I gave them a 3 star rating because of the good cigars. I assume the $20 or so they might have lost to make this customer happy was too much. I wonder how much of my future business they have lost because of this decision.
