"Ordered for the holidays, on Dec 22nd. No email confirmation of purchase. No shipment statement. One item arrived, but the second one didn't arrive until January 22nd, one MONTH after it was ordered, despite the site saying it was available. Poor communication, mis-stated availability. I'd give it a 2/5 simply for the fact that something DID arrive eventually. Please work on your customer service, especially communication."

"Purchased a product which their site claimed to be in stock - no shipping for a week, e-mailed, and was told they we're getting some in stock for my order. Yeah, whatever. Then when I asked to cancel they gave me the option to find something else and they'd price match - I did this and they said it'd ship in 24 to 48 hours. They charged my card over the weekend (no customer service then) and I was waiting till Monday to call and cancel my order - was told it was boxed so they can't refund me. The 5th day after changing my order the pedals I called to cancel two days earlier had finally shipped. So now I have to wait for them to ship across country and then back for me to get my money back. This BS will take a month by the time it's over. AVOID THIS PLACE"

"Of the items I ordered only one was actually in stock. In the comments section I asked to be contacted if any items on my order were not in stock. I called them after a couple of days to find that they didn't have some of my items. By the time they got the items and then shipped to me nearly 2 weeks had passed.

In all fairness they had the best price on the net and I did receive my items eventually. I will use them again, but never if in any hurry.

"I've read some bad reviews about this company. Personally, I have to differ with the majority of unhappy customers that have put in their two cents. I had a spectacular experience with this company! I got a great set of wheels for an amazing price. Beyond Bikes sent them to North Carolina for me and when I got their the mechanics and manager were very impressed and wondered how I got such a great pair of wheels for a song! You guys are awesome-o and the bike looks and rides like nothing I've ever pedaled. Thanks again!!

"Same story as many have related.

Online store states that items are in stock and will ship within 24 hrs.

Immediate email confirmation of order, with estimated ship date approx. one week out.

Week goes by, get a delayed order email.

Called company, on hold for 20 minutes (just like clockwork!).

Agent says that almost every item is not in stock and will be delayed unknown amount of time.

To his credit, the agent was polite and friendly, and agreed to cancel my order and do a complete refund.

Says refund will go through in 2-3 business days.

I'm waiting to see the status of refund . . . will post back.

My advice, if you have plenty of time to wait, their prices are decent and customer service is reasonable.

Their business model (at least online) is misleading and could be grounds for a false advertising claim.

Buyer beware!

"I recently ordered a Bianchi 928 C2C through Beyond Bikes and found them very helpful, courteous and prompt. Their salesman, Kevin spent a great deal of time helping me locate the bike I wanted through their warehouse in Ohio. He told me when the bike would be received from Ohio and it showed up a day early (4 days). He called me to let me know it was received and personally built the bike. They shipped the bike 2 days later as described. By the way, before ordering, I found a competitive price through an east coast seller and they honored their price guarantee without hesitation.

This was a pricey bike and I live 1000 miles away from their shop, but I am very impressed and would order from them again. No hesitation.

"I wish I had checked here before I ordered. These people, frankly, stink. I still await an item that was supposed to be Christmas present. The web site gives no indication the item is not in stock. Silly me for not checking.

As they say: "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me".

Never again. I doubt I will ever see the pedals.

Update: Got an email telling me my order had a "problem" and to call them. I just replied to the email, please cancel the order. Did not get an answer. Two days later I called. The "problem" was it won't ship until 1/21. I said fine. Next day I got an email that my order was canceled. Oh well.

"Honestly, I'm shocked by the reviews here. I've shopped at beyond bikes for quite some time now and have never had any problem at all with them. In fact, the only delay I've ever had was when I tried to order a replacement spring for a fox fork... but that was on fox for taking three weeks to get it to beyond. The staff at beyond was always courtious and helpful through the wait and after all the wait, their mechanic installed it for me for free.

I've shopped there literally hundreds of times and would highly recommend them to anyone, both online or locally at the shop. Selection is aweseom, prices are awesome and the staff is absolutely great.

"I ordered a softer spring for my Manitou rear shock. I knew this company had a bad rep, but this was really the only place I could get it. Last time I ordered through the bike shop I had to wait three weeks and pay the price of the product in shipping...so I figured what the heck. Well, ships within 0-5 days means nothing. Absolutely nothing. May as well say ship when we feel like ordering the part. At first it kept going further and further back on backorder, but I was expecting it to be slow, so I wasn't very mad. Well, a three weeks of waiting, I send an email. No response. Send another a week later and get a response almost instantly (?) and they said they were supposed to get the shipment that day. Another week pases. I send an email asking for any form of an update. Once again, no response. Then, a few days later, we get a automated email saying that there is a problem with our order and we need to call. Ok, so we call the 800 number and sit on hold for 30 minutes. Hang up. I email support and tell them that I just sat on hold for 30 minutes. Can I please get somebody to talk to? Anybody? Try the 866 number 30 minutes later, instant response. It's Tuesday today, the order is expected to be arrive there on Friday...but they said that before too.

Customer service:
Very poor. Not hideous because when I do get a response, it is almost instant and helpful. But thats only when I do. Only 1 of 4 emails were answered, I have spent 30 minutes on hold with no answer and have waited over 5 weeks thus far and they haven't even received the part in their store.

Verdict:
They will never see my business again, no matter how good a 'deal' they can get me. Avoid them unless they are the only single shop that can get you your part, or you like waiting a month and a half for it to just ship.

"Same story as everyone else. Items were listed as ships in 0-5 days on the site (they still are by the way), and after 2 weeks of jumping through hoops to get my stuff, I try to cancel the order. Well now they say it just shipped that day. Bull @&*#! They offer me free shipping. Cool. Right? Not cool. They end up charging me $20 extra for the helmet I bought. I contact them and the guy says the helmet is more because I got free shipping. Um? Thats not what the other guy on the phone said. This company is shady. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. Lots of other sites offer close to the same prices, and price matching. Try wheelworld.com. Never had a problem there. "

"Like many others here,it has taken weeks and a PayPal dispute to get them to send a set of shifters and brake levers. June 30, upon receiving the dispute, they got off their dead A's and got someone to throw 2 small items in a box and ship it.

Avoid the headaches and go somewhere else beyond BeyondBikes. They are plain incompetent.

"This review is really for BeyondOutside which is part of the BeyondBikes outfit. I ordered a Marmot Precip rain jacket plus Marmot pants. BeyondOutside had the best prices, plus they shipped to Canada via USPS Express Mail Service (EMS).

Believe it or not, soon after placing the order I read the reseller ratings on this website, especially about the items not being in stock "bait and switch" tactics. Since I expected to have the same treatment, I called their customer support line.

Now, I might draw flak from all the angry bikers in this forum, but I actually had a pretty positive experience with BeyondOutside!

The customer support line was answered fairly promptly by a courteous person, who looked into my order and assured me that the items were in stock and would ship the next day. Again, not believing my ears I waited until the next day evening, and guess what I received the shipped notification with tracking link.

Being shipped by USPS EMS, the package was trackable all the way to Canada and I received the items in 4 business days (delivered by CanadaPost, although I have received other USPS EMS shipments by Purolator in the past). The best part is, being the Christmas season, CanadaPost did not charge me any import duty!

As a side note, Canadian customers should never get their items shipped by UPS Standard, or else they'll be slapped with a heafty "brokerage" fee. Note that UPS Express and UPS Expedited do NOT charge the brokerage fee. If you are using USPS, then the only service that provides tracking all the way is EMS.

"Ordered Cygolite lights for my cycle from Beyond Bikes as not available in the UK. After 2 weeks I had received nothing I opted for free shipping, but then thought better of it as thought it might take too long

I emailed Beyond Bikes to ask how long they would take to send. They emailed back saying free shipping is not available on international orders and an extra $21 required. Although the invoice had confirmed that shipping was free, and although they did't apologise for their mistake, $21 isn't a lot to ship to UK. Still no goods. Then I had a call from the fraud dept at my bank questioning some credit card transactions and it transpired that my card had been used fraudently.

I asked for a refund a week ago and I am still waiting

"I ordered four Vittoria open corsa evo cx tires from this company because
they were the cheapest. Big mistake! There stock status says ship in 0-5 days.
3 weeks now and no tires. I'm getting emails stating that my order is experiencing
an "unexpected short delay." Zach told me that when they went to order the tires
they were put on back order and they have no idea when they will arrive. Zach suggested
I switch to a tire that they have in stock. BAIT AND SWITCH! I don't think they ever
intended on ordering my tires. What a crappy company! Don't buy anything from this
company online! I've cancelled my order. I'm going back to Western Bike Works.

"I ordered from this vendor prior to researching their history and this ended up to be a big mistake. Numerous employees have lied to me about the shipping status and one even hung up on me when I tried to cancel my order. Stay clear of this business. For the past 3 days they've told me that it would ship that day and every day it hasn't. They also hung up on me when I tried to cancel my order and the 2nd time I called they finally "cancelled" it. We'll see. I'll be contacting my bank here shortly to dispute the funds if they are not refunded to me. Also charged me for the products before they were even shipped."
