"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE!! SCAM BAIT AND SWITCH!! Long boring story. Tried to upsell rediculously. I refused any of their stupid sales tricks. They said item in stock. 10 days later no shipping. Called, long long on hold, guy says back order can't say when. I say "you don't have any intention of shipping this item". He laughs and says cancelled and hangs up the phone."

"I also received the e-mail that said I had to call to confirm my order. I tried and tried for two days but could not get through. After reading other reviews, I decided to cancel my credit card. Did not want to deal with such a bad company."

"This seller is horrible. I ordered a Garmin 760 on 12/3/08. I discovered on 12/5/08 in their automated email that I had to call in to confirm the order before it would be shipped.

12/5/08 I called and they tried upsell me to a more expensive mode. When I declined they said the order would be shipped out the next day.

After several days of checking on my order status via their site I called back on 12/9/08 and was told it would ship the next day. Again I was offered the upsell but this time is was only 20.00 more, not the 159.00 previously offered. I took the upgrade. (They said they were out of stock on my original order.)

The order finally shipped on 12/12/08 via UPS ground. It arrived on 12/18/08. The unit was Dead on Arrival. Now I have to send it back.

I will give them points for paying for the return shipping."

"I will never buy from this store again. Never. I bought a Kodak M1033 from the store because the price is attractive and the website (and the operator I called) says that it's in stock. No true. I heard nothing from the store after I gave them the 3-digit code on the back of my credit card. No idea when or if the camera was shipped to me. I called back about 30 times every day for the next few days -- both numbers were busy. When I got ahold of someone on Saturday, I was told to call back on Sunday. Line was busy on Sunday. I called over 50 times today (Monday), got someone who hung up on me after I gave him the order number. Then tried calling for another 10 minutes and finally got through again -- they told me the camera is on back-order and (WHEN I ASKED) told me that it won't be available until after the holidays. I ended up buying the same camera on amazon for $25 more, but it's so worth it. When was the BigCameraDeals going to tell that it would not be able to fulfill its "usually ships in 24-36 hours" representation had I not called to check? By the way -- the site still says "usually ships in 24-26 hours" although it knows that it currently does not. Beware.

I read the good and bad posts below prior to making my order. My instincts also told me that this website is fishy. I guess I was fore-warned, but I rationalized it by thinking that the fact that some people had bad experience doesn't mean that it's a bad place to shop. I should have listened and trusted my instinct.

"Big Camera Deals is a scam. I ordered a Garmin GPS at a very low advertised price, and when I called to "confirm" my order, they tried to sell me stuff I didn't want or ask for. After repeatedly saying no, that was the last I ever heard from them. The phone # in the email they sent does not connect. I called them numerous times on the line advertised on their site, and every time I give them my order # they hang up on me. They had better not use my credit card or I will go to NY in person..."

"I purchased a Kodak v1003 because the price was right; cheaper than anyone else selling "new" cameras. Got a call from them on Sunday saying that I needed a better battery for the camera, and sold me $20 battery for $50. The camera came a few days later in a mis-labeled white box with all of the items showing wear, except for the $20/$50 dollar battery. They advertise "All Products Brand New" on their web site, but don't believe it for a minute. I forgot about "when it looks too good to be true..."."

"I ordered a Pink Kodak C513 $54.99 on Nov. 12. I noticed that I had messed up on my on e-mail address and called them to correct it. The guy told me that I had ordered the Japanese version and said the American would cost $79.95, I told him to cancel, he said we can let you have this one for $59.99, I still told him to cancel it and then he said, we'll let you have it for this price since it didn't say it was Japanese on the page. I called back a few minutes later, because the guy hung up before I could change my email address, I was told that they all are American. I called again the next day to cancel and he had told me that it had been shipped. I never received an email. I called today Nov. 18 to see if/when it had been shipped and to get a tracking number. I was told that the pink was on back order and the silver was available, and that they had sent me an email and was waiting for me to respond. I never received an email, I asked them what email address he had and it was the correct one. I told him to cancel this order and I wanted my money back in my account since it had already been taken out. He did say that they will cancel it and refund my money, but we will see in due time.

On Thursday Nov. 20, I checked my bank account and they did give my money back.

Wholesalegenius.com called me on Sunday Nov. 30 and told me that the pink camera was never released by Kodak, and that's why it was on backorder and asked me if I wanted the upgraded C713, which is a whole lot more and I told him I cancelled this order and got refunded, he said he would have to call the billing department and let them know. I keep checking my account to make sure there's nothing suspicious on there."

"I ordered a Mitsubishi HC 5500 HD projector form BigCameraDeals and they pulled the classic bait and switch missing accessories scam on me. Internet orders require a "security" phone call into the company to confirm the order. The agent asked if I had bulbs for the projector, and informed me that their advertised price did not include the projection lamp. Their web site advertises that only new, factory sealed equipment is sold, and of course the factory sends a projection lamp with each projector, so they were trying to scam me out of several hundred dollars. I will update this posting if I have trouble with the order cancellation."
