"I purchased a pair of Roller Derby V500 inline skates from bikesomewhere.com on amazon website. The skates looked good except for one minor flaw: a missing insole. I emailed the seller and they replied that they would have the manufacturer mail the missing insole directly to me. Sounds good. But since the skates were my kid's birthday gift and therefore the timely delivery of the missing part was my concern, I emailed them again asking when I could receive the part. No answer. Days later I emailed them again. No answer again. I emailed them again this time via amazon.com. Guess what. No answer again, too.
Then I had to threaten them with a possible negative review. It worked. The next day they replied that the manufacturer had shipped the insole to them and that they would ship it to me tomorrow. Yes, they wrote, "tomorrow". I waited for two weeks. Nothing came. I emailed them about the shipping status. They replied, to my surprise, that they had not received it from the manufacturer yet. Running out of patience, I demanded either the insole or an exchange within 10 days. On the 10th day, they replied that they still had not received the insole and that they would exchange the skates by writing, "have an entirely new pair of skates shipped to you".
I returned the skates and emailed them asking for prompt shipping of a new pair. About a week later, to my surprise, they gave me a refund. Since I had not asked for the refund, and even it was not in full amount, less the shipping charge, I emailed them inquiring about the unilateral refund and again demanding the new skates. A week passed. No response. I emailed again. Finally they replied rejecting my request. That's the end of the story. It took about two months.
After selling a defective item, bikesomewhere.com failed to stand up for the product they sold and snubbed a customer by simply ignoring repeated and very reasonable complaints. The skates looked good. My kid loved them. But the seller, bikesomewhere.com, did not know how to respect customers! They are an arrogant, disrespectful, and deceiving liar. And they callously broke my boy's little heart. Stay away from them. Buy somewhere else. "
"I've read all the reviews for bikesomewhere and was starting to get worried. I let my order go thru, and it was shipped in two days, I got the UPS tracking number, and the order was complete and the service was great...and I saved a lot of money on my Topeak rack and bag. I would readily do business with them again! Ken"
"How do they sell ANYTHING with such unprofessional service? I was a fool for ignoring the [numerous] negative reviews! Shame on me for trusting their company. I paid for [3] Michelin inner tubes (NEW, in bright blue/yellow box) and received used, customer returns or store-used tubes wrapped in Saran-wrap plastic with no box or note of explanation or apology. They will never (ever) see my business again, not that they give a damn, right?
Here's another example of the SAME problem that I just had with BikeSomeWhere.com: [it was copied from a review on their OWN website(!), of all places]
"This was one of several items in this order that looked as though they had been used and returned to the store. These tubes (2) had no box; they were stuffed in a plastic bag. There is no identifying box or label to determine if they sent the right thing. The bike lock did come in a box but it looks like it was a rehabilitated doormat - torn and scuffed - and the lock itself is scuffed up like it had been used, cleaned up and re-sold as new. Bogus. Won't be coming back here..."
Hope you may learn from our mistake(s) of trusting these ... folks ... to send us what we actually ordered from them. How can this happen in such a great country such as ours? I regret shopping there very, very much. I got ripped-off. Hope you may have better luck? Best regards, ~Alan~"
"I called twice only to hear them say it was shipping that day... ended up being a week before they did, so they straight up lied. Then they said it was shipped and I'd be expecting in 3 days. Nope I'd be expecting it in another week. Customer service was terrible and reluctant to help. This was a horrible online shopping experience and still waiting for products. I should have read reviews before this... AVOID this amateur retailer."
"I bought an item for Father's Day from this site with a few weeks to spare. The item was listed as "in stock." After waiting on my item until Father's Day had almost arrived, I checked in with customer service and was told:
"Your order is due to ship tomorrow or Friday. Once your order is ready to leave our facilities, you will receive a shipping confirmation e-mail with tracking information."
Well, another 6 days go by and NOTHING, not even a confirmation number. I inquire again and I am told that the item has been on back-order and they don't have it. Really? They couldn't have listed that information on the site, or have told me when I checked in a few times? They lied to me and told me my order was going to ship when they didn't have any in stock and none coming in. By then it was too late to order another and my dad finally got his present after I ordered through another site. At least I eventually got my money back. Not Recommended."
"AVOID! I ordered a wetsuit and everything was supposedly okay and it was in stock. I was highly surprised to get an email stating that my order was canceled because they did not have any in stock. Why would they let the whole order go through and accept my credit card if there was no inventory? I lost a couple of days in getting something I needed for a race."
"I received four pairs of DeFeet socks as a Christmas present, shipped from bikesomewhere.com. Unfortunately when I opened the box, I discovered all four pair were size small, instead of mediums. You wouldn't think it was a big deal, other than having to pay to ship them back to the dealer, right? They are a gift, who cares? Think again. I emailed orders@, and I was told DeFeet does not make sized medium socks. I thought this was a strange thing to say considering I have worn medium socks from DeFeet for years. They go as far as to embroider the sock size into the bottom of the sock. Further strange, the image they have of the SAME socks I had received as a gift, were DeFeet 'MD', or MEDIUMS, on their own website. Right there in plain sight, after telling me DeFeet doesn't make size mediums! I did more digging, and it turns out some socks are listed with correct size options (S,M,L) while others are incorrect at S/M and M/L. Roll your dice, because you will be gambling on what size socks you will get in the mail! Long story short, every time I emailed the orders@, this woman named Ellie kept changing her story about DeFeet sock sizes. She wouldn't admit the sizing in the website, S/M and M/L were in fact incorrect. Instead of offering to send a return label and offering a refund, I was asked to ship the socks back on my own tab and have them exchanged for size M/L. Would they be size large, or size medium? She couldn't tell me. BAD BUSINESS! If you see something suspicious on this site, double check before you place the order. This sock size mishap probably isn't the only mistake on the site."
"AVOID AVOID AVOID
Ordered on line on a Wednesday as the description said that item was available for immediate shipping.
I immediately received an email confirmation of my order that said I would receive another email confirming shipping and shipping info.
When I had not received the email two days later - a Friday - I both emailed [no immediate response] and called and was assured that the item would be going out that day.
The weekend passed and no email. I called again Monday and they said that the itme had "just missed the deadline [of being shipped] on Friday but it's all packed and ready to go today (Monday)."
Guess what...it wasn't. Tuesday morning I received an email saying that the item would be shipped by the end of the week. I then called and cancelled the order. I've also alerted the bank and challenged the charge.
I will report back on the refund. "
"Canceled order 3 days later due to item not being in stock. I received a courteous email response and several days later, received a refund on my credit card. Other than item not being in stock and no way of knowing that when I placed the order, I had no problems with merchant."
"VERY DISSATISFIED.
Ordered a rear bike trunk bag on 6/4. By 6/13 still had not received the product. Tried several times to reach the company, they finally responded, telling me the product would be shipped in 1-2 days of receiving the order. Duh! They had already missed that deadline by several days.
Contacted my bank, the $70 was returned to my account, and the bank will go after the company.
I obviously don't know why they handle business so poorly, but I will not do business with them again.
I recommend all others stay clear of BikeSomewhere entirely.
Bob"
"Very poor service. Very difficult to reach anyone. Extremely delayed delivery. Order was supposed to be shipped 2nd day FedEx, after 3 days nothing has been shipped, the card was charged immediately. When I finally got a hold of them, they said the order will be shipped UPS."
"Poor Customer Service. Received a defective trainer, they claimed I did not mount the bike on the unit correctly but that was not the problem. Would not refund return shipping of the defective unit."
"Very dissatisfied with this company, if you can call it a company. My order was placed on 5/13/08 and promptly charged to my card. By 5/19/08 I had received no communication from the "company" nor had they returned email or calls. Worst of all, when I logged into My Account on 5/19 it showed that I had order 4 of the same product with a charge of $170. Finally got them on the phone after leaving an assertive message. Promised me that the product had just arrived and would be shipped "today". Just couldn't overcome that uneasy feeling, so I called back to cancel. Took three calls to make contact. I canceled the order and received a confirmation email and I'm waiting for the refund now. I will never do business with this "company" again. I believe it's probably only one person, maybe a college student. Who knows?! Do business elsewhere."
"I was very happy with my purchase. It arrived 5 days after I order it (got free shipping), and was exactly as I expected. Looking forward to using my new shoes."
"I didn't think to check reviews of this place at first, since their website store seemed legit. I did end up getting my order (see below) but would never do business with them again.
I ordered an Onguard Beast 5016 chain. After a couple days of no response, I had to call them to get a tracking number. The chain and lock arrived, but they included an old model 2005 lock. This is ridiculous, since lock technology often changes if there is a security breach.
Their product page shows the new model disc lock, but they ship out old ones. I am not surprised after reading the rest of the reviews here.
I went back and checked their online store after reading reviews here. They don't use any encription at all during the check-out process! What the hell kind of online business it that? I am lucky they didn't (or haven't) stolen my credit card info.
